Split Greek salad and potatoes.

This is a wonderful restaurant with great food and great, considerate service. Greta touch was when my wife asked for her steak to be done a little more, they send out a second set of the side dishes so that they would be warmer than the ones served to the rest of us whose steaks were perfectly prepared. This is a very, very good restaurant....first class with killer food.

It was my husband's birthday and because he's a huge steak lover he chose Lewnes. We've been to the restaurant several times and the experiences have always been good. This was a BIG exception. Mark ordered a steak medium rare. It came out well done. Amy, our great waitress, was very apologetic and said they would provide another ASAP. Twenty minutes later, steak #2 arrives. It's rare. This time the manager came over to apologize. The birthday boy is getting very irritated. A steak house that can't cook a steak to order?! Highly disappointing. I was finished with my meal and the sides were cold by the time steak #3 arrived. New sides were delivered, but the experience was already sort of ruined. The restaurant did the right thing and did not charge us for the meal, but we had ordered a $170 bottle of wine to be paired with a great meal. That did not happen. I hope we'll return, but it may be awhile. The memory of this not-so-great experience is lingering a bit. Again, Amy was great. I know she felt terrible, but there was nothing she could do about it.

Regular customer always dependable. This time they sat us near the restrooms and the dumb waiter needed new bearings or something. Noise was not acceptable for a $300 dinner for two.

Awesome yet again! This is our 3rd visit in 2 months and every time is consistently good. The food is the amazing - the best steak we have ever had - the side dishes are also excellent. The waitstaff has been excellent each time and we had 3 different waiters.
We will be coming back again and again!

I have been hearing about Lewnes Steakhouse for a couple of years and that they had "the best steaks" anywhere. Last night, we finally gave it a try and were rather disappointed. I hold a "steakhouse" to a higher standard when it comes to cut, selection and preparation. While Lewnes web site and menu said all the right things (only USDA prime, dry aged, high temp oven, etc), the results were underwhelming. My Prime Ribeye was ordered "medium" and it came out close to "rare". The steak, along with the sides, were served warm (not really hot) and less flavorful than I had anticipated. So, while not on my "must return" list, the meal was "okay", the service was fine and the atmosphere was inviting.

While the food was grand, the service was over the top == extremely friendly, courteous, efficient without being overbearing. They also did not know us from a hole in the wall, this was our first visit, but delivered an elegant complimentary dessert.

My brother and I have similar birthdays. We enjoyed a great dinner of fillet mignon, oysters Rockefeller, creamed spinach, and baked potato. The service by Cheryl was superior, a real professional, and the wine list was one of the best I’ve seen. Not a cheap eat, but worth the money. Everything including the ambience was excellent.

Lewnes' is rated the best steak house in Maryland, and for good reasons. Lewnes' does not have an extensive menu, but everything they make is perfection. The services is always gracious and professional. The tables and booths are LARGE, which are ideal for the large servings that Lewnes' provides. I am always delighted by their playlist of jump blues, swing, and cheerful big band -- never played too loud, it provides an uplifting tonal backdrop for cheerful conversation. It's not an inexpensive evening, but it is an evening worth every panny.

We were impressed with everything about our dinner except our slow service at the end. Our waitress seemed to disappear after dessert and we waited 50 minutes for our check/cc receipt. Luckily, another staffer stepped in. This is our first poor service experience here, but would still highly recommend them to others due to the high quality food, extensive wine list and top notch atmosphere.

The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful — not at all snooty. Our waiter knew the menu and the wine menu which was quite extensive. He timed everything very well so we had plenty of time to enjoy and finish our appetizer of oysters Rockefeller before our steaks appeared. They were prepared exactly as expected — medium, medium plus and medium rare. Perfect and delicious. The sides were wonderful and plenty for our table of 4: one each of mushrooms, potatoes and creamed spinach (made with plenty of fresh nutmeg). He helped us pick out wine based on our order. He was just the right amount of attentive and scarce. It was a lovely meal. Not inexpensive —$500+ including tax and tip, but for a special occasion, it was delightful.

Waiter was great and very informative. Portions were large and everything came out as ordered. It was a wonderful alternative to the chain chophouses.

Always perfect - I'm not a usual meat eater, but the petite filet is so perfect, I thoroughly enjoy each bite and have enough for dinner the next day. The vegetables are perfect and we had the soup special, a crab-lobster bisque - divine. Our server, as usual, was professional, but friendly. Cocktails were chilled correctly. It's a perfect place to talk over the week while enjoying a well-prepared, delicious meal.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. I think the entres need a bit more seasoning. Although, the steak (ribeye) was very tender and was just as good the next day it lacked seasoning. The shrimp/crab bisque was delicious and a must have. I recommend Lewnes highly.

This was my first visit to Lewnes. It is a fairly typical steakhouse in terms of the menu, low lighting, and noise level. My friend and I each had a petite filet which was fabulous and cooked perfectly. The service was great and very professional. It is expensive an expensive place so be prepared to spend some money.

My wife and I wanted to try a steak place in Annapolis, close to downtown so we could walk, and selected Lewnes' based on those criteria plus the other strong reviews. FABULOUS choice when in the Annapolis area. The staff was especially accommodating when at the last minute we ran into friends and extended the reservation from two to four with fairly short notice. Big kudos there for flexibility! Around the table we tried the prime rib, the regular-sized Ribeye, and (drum roll) the super-special pork chop. I forget all the details of how the pork is a special hybrid breed, though I believe there was an article in either the Wall St Journal or USA Today a few months back about this. But it was the most amazing pork chop ever-- and off the charts recommended if it is available when you dine. Otherwise outstanding across the board, and the fact that the Lewnes' family still owns and operates the restaurant just adds to the special ambiance. You feel connected in a way that you don't get at Ruths' Chris, Chart House, or another respectable steak establishment. 100% satisfaction across the board and we will 100% return during future visits to Annapolis. An easy 5-10 minute walk from the Annapolis downtown docks/marina over the Eastport bridge.

Our recent dinner at Lewnes' SteakHouse was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in the front door, we knew we were in for a special experience. Our table was in a quiet corner of a small room. Our waiter was wonderful and helpful and provided over the top service. We all ordered Filet Mignon, each with a different cooking specification, and each one was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Our two sides were asparagus and onion rings. The onion rings were amazing, definitely the best I've ever had and I'm old! At the end of our dinner, the waiter brought us a large brownie dessert as a surprise, to help us celebrate our special occasion. Each person on staff that we encountered contributed to our enjoyable evening. Thank you!
