Always the best dinner, best service and best value ANYWHERE.
Delicious steaks cooked to perfection and yummy veggies - we were upstairs in the small room adjacent to an exterior window. The tables were a little too close together and there was a significant draft from the window but the attentive, good natured waiter made up for our slight discomfort.
Our waitress Jen was over the top awesome.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent! A little bit pricey, but worth the cost.
My wife had a new york strip and she said it was the most tender steak she ever had. I had the lobster, and the smallest was 3.5lbs. Excellent.
So much better than any of the national steakhouses.
It has excellent seafood in addition to the red meat!
Loved the food and the ambiance at Lewnes! Will definitely be back!
Took my partner gene for his birthday and was not disappointed! Lewnes came recommended to us by many people. I had reservations for a Monday night but could have gone in and gotten seated without them because it wasn’t crowded. Sides and salads are made to be split so you can order one to split. We got a salad and mashed potatoes. Salad was alright. Mashed potatoes were delicious! Upon arrival they looked pretty plain, didn’t have any seasoning on it. But when you eat them, they are very flavorful! We each ordered a filet, the petite and a regular. Petite is 8oz and regular is 14. Plenty! They were both delicious. Very natural steak flavor. Not a restaurant that puts a ton of spices on. The texture was the best part, so easy to cut and chew. So tender. They even surprised him with a brownie sundae after for his birthday. That was delicious. So rich. The atmosphere is very dark, romantic. Lots of low lighting and wood. Wine bottles everywhere made a nice decor. You can see straight into the cellar where we sat. Quiet place, everyone is respectful to have conversations low. Overall very happy with Lewnes. We will definitely return for special occasions and recommend to other people.
Great food, have never had a better steak! We went twice while visiting Annapolis. The service was excellent and a wonderful staff! The seating was comfortable, private and the atmosphere was quiet. Highly recommend!
The entire team bent over backwards to ensure our special evening was outstanding. No one missed a beat and the food was delicious. Highly recommended. Giving a big shout out to Sam and Nick!!! Thumbs up!!!
We had dined at Lewnes for a special occasion early this year. A family member was in town and requested steak for her birthday dinner. The meal was awesome and everyone in our party had a great time. Eric was our server - he was terrific, responsive and had great sense of humor.
We were seated in an upstairs dining room which was very quiet and perfect for our group of 5 to converse and enjoy a relaxing birthday dinner celebration. Our server was very personal and professional. After asking our preferences he recommended the perfect wine for us. The steaks were delicious as was the lazy lobster appetizer which was a great recommendation from our server. The lemon drop martini was heavenly. This is a perfect restaurant for special occasions, date nights, and business dinners.
This Eastport gem is usually excellent. This particular night, all three filet mignons were medium not medium rare as requested, and the strip steak ordered medium rare, was rare. The creamed spinach was delicious, though overdone with nutmeg for some of our diners. It was way too soupy. The mashed potatoes were prepared with white pepper which some diners also did not care for. Someone in the kitchen was heavy handed with the salt shaker on my steak. There was a lot of noise from the dumb waiter the evening we were there. We usually like to sit in the first booth to the left when entering the restaurant, but that one was taken. I haven't noticed the noise from the mechanics to this degree in the past. Quite annoying. Wine list extensive. A few more wines by the glass would be nice.
Waitress was excellent.
Bathroom needs some updating.
Excellent restaurant. Top notch. Great food and great atmosphere. Friendly staff. My favorite steak house bar none. The best.
Wonderful evening superb service. We felt very special with the treatment
Been there numerous times - Porterhouse steak was the thickness of a rib eye with a fair amount of grizzle. Lewnes is generally an excellent upscale restaurant. But the food and noise level of the table next to us was disappointing. Will think twice about returning.
We were not impressed with this restaurant. My brother flew in for his 50th and I wanted to take him somewhere very upscale. I was surprised - very dated and a bit run down. And we were secluded upstairs in a smallish room with a faint strange odor. The food was good - nothing outstanding though - espeically for how much you pay.
I first visites Lewnes' about 20 years ago and fell in love with the steak and lobster there. When i went way back then the service was great then. I just visited again this past weekend ... the service is STILL great and I'm STILL in love.
Great place for good food & wine. We came for a birthday and to enjoy Annapolis restaurant week. We were not disappointed. The menu for restaurant week include three first courses to choose from, four main options, 1/2 side and dessert. The steaks were cook perfectly , The crab cake and shrimp dishes were very good and with the 1/2 sides, everyone went home happy and full! This restaurant is decorated in typical dark colors of a stake house, with comfortable booths. It has a small bar at the front by the door that can hold only a few people. The wine list is long and cocktails are available. A few Greek dishes are available. Wait staff are not push and didn't rush us even with the busy night.
Amazing anniversary dinner yet again! My special request to be seated in the wine room if possible was met. This room gives more privacy with tall booths, perfect for a nice adult conversation when you rarely get out without the children! We arrived 15 minutes early and though Restaurant Week and a special NHL hockey game in town, we were seated immediately. Our server was perfectly attentive, the wine selection was amazing, and our food was incomparable. Hot, prefect portions, and a melt in your mouth filet mignon. Dessert came with the restaurant week menu, but our server packaged it up and brought us a brownie a la mode complete with a lit candle! Such a special touch. We will be back before our next anniversary!
We always love going to Lewnes! Never disappoints and the service is wonderful.
Everything about this place is perfection. Elegant, but not stuffy. The food and service are amazing, this is my favorite restaurant in Annapolis.
Went here as part of Annapolis Restaurant Week, upon my son's recommendation. Staff was friendly, place was clean and food was delicious. My favorite was seafood bisque soup. As my son said, filet mignon cut like butter. There is a coat room and bar on the first floor, dining area is on the second floor. Street parking can be found in the area. High-class dining, so dress up!
Great food as always. Service was perfect. Always there when needed
Went to Lewnes' Steakhouse during Annapolis Restaurant Week. Best Filet Minion EVER! A bit pricey for me on regular menu.
We always love Lewnes! Great value for the steak during restaurant week, but can we please have more then a spoonful of mashed potatoes, 1/4 c of bisque and literally a sliver of key lime pie?
Dinner was delicious as ever! Went for restaurant week and the smaller portion was perfect!!
Always great food and outstanding atmosphere. Great filet.
It was a celebration of a birthday of someone dear to us and Lewnes was his favorite place in Annapolis. Lucky us, it coincided with Annapolis restaurant week! Everything was perfect as we shared happy memories.
Our first Restaurant week at this favorite restaurant and it was fabulous.
We were here during Restaurant Week 2018 and had a very nice time. Thank you for Lewnes for participating in Restaurant Week, because I doubt I could have afforded the meal otherwise. The ambience was delightful, dark and quiet and romantic and very nice. The service was excellent, especially the server's pacing and knowledge.
As for the food: I had the bisque, the petite filet, and mashed potatoes; it was all very good. My wife had the Greek salad, salmon, and mushrooms; it was all delicious. The desserts (key lime pie for me, brownie for her) were delicious too. The food was very good, as I said, but hard to see how it's any better than other places--for the high price.
In short, it was a very nice place and a really good dinner. But it is expensive.
Lewnes' SteakHouse is participating in Annaoplis Restaurant Week and we decided to enjoy one sure-thing great meal in what is traditionally a week of exploration.
We were not disappointed at all. The limited prix fixe menu offered delicous choices. The portion sizes were filling but finishable (as opposed to Lewnes' usually unfinishably generous portions). Our waiter and the rest of the staff offered us gracious, attentive service even though we were there on restaurant week. The by-the-glass wine selection was very good as well.
We love Lewnes' for special occasions and for when we feel like having something nice. When family members visit from out of town, this is one of the places I bring them.
We all know their steaks are great and the Aegean shrimp are terrific. But did you know that the seafood bisque is one of the world's best soups? Or that their mashed potatoes are to die for? Lewnes is a budget-busting place to eat but well worth it for special occasions.
Very enjoyable evening! The menu is small and everything we've had is wonderful.
The service was excellent. The only quibble I had was that, although my lamb chops were large and perfectly cooked, they were a bit tough and not as easy to cut as Lamb chops normally are.
This was our first time at lewnes. Our waitress Jen was perfect. Knowledgable, friendly, attentive and interpreted what we asked for into appropriate suggestions and recommendations. Great service!
We enjoy celebrating birthdays at Lewnes’. The food, service, and ambiance are excellent!
Chose this steakhouse for a get-together of 3 friends from out of town. Everything was excellent. One in the party ordered the filet, another the lamb chop special and another the ribeye. all were magnificent. We did order a salad that was forgotten but we had ordered appetizers and those came out first. The waitress realized her mistake and boxed the salad to go at no charge. Which was a good thing because we had plenty to eat. The creamed spinach was tasty as were the potatoes. Will definitely be back.
We have enjoyed our visit again to your restaurant. We always get Nick your Waiter and He always makes us feel special. We will continue to recommend your restaurant to friends and family.
