LeVilla Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We eat here often. The food is always good as well as the service. We don’t agree with charging for tap water. I get the whole carbon footprint excuse but seriously? Our guests had not been before and felt the same way. Perhaps there is another way......
An off night for La Villa. Normally we have a great meal and service. Started with the waitress telling us all the appies were gf. Good thing we cancelled the order. Then my meal came and they forgot to put in my wife's meal. Had to flag the waitress down. They took mine back but then brought the same plate out. At least 10 min resulting in a warm meal. The tomatoes and basil on the cod was definitely from a can. Hardly any basil. A disappointing night. The Free desert wine was nice but didn't really make up. And some gf desert would be nice. Restaurant look inside is dark and dated.
Have been here before and food was great. This time server forgot our appetizer. When main course arrived was Luke warm My wives fresh caught fish had hard pieces in it and she was put off by the taste.( this was the special of the day) . Server did offer us after dessert for forgetting the crab cakes . Which we took .pecan pie was very hard and did not have much taste.
I could just drop the mic at "they served margarine with the bread", but hard to leave it there. Let's start with ambience: Not bad overall, if it were a Montana's, but uncomfortable, 1990's-era chairs. The blinding sun was shining on my wife's face for 1/2 an hour - when asked to close the blinds or do something about it, the server said "just wait 5 or 10 minutes and it should be fine". Beer selection was deplorable: Nothing on tap, and selection was on par with, oh, Boston Pizza. Ordered the buffalo cheddar meatballs for appetizer, but came cold. Parmesan frites were stale (and if you call it 'frites' and charge 'frites' prices, they'd better taste better than cold fries). As for mains... prime rib was decent (save for the rock hard Yorkshire pudding), but daughters' spaghetti was so salty she couldn't eat it. Chalky tasting gnocchi was similarly salty. It was advertised as having asparagus, but came with shaved bits of stringy stalk. And it was swimming in... gravy?? WTF? Didn't bother staying for dessert. We wanted to support a local independent business, but for this genre and prices, you're better off sticking with the Keg.
four of us were celebrating our anniversaries; 2 of us had been there one year ago, and recommended it to our friends from B.C. who were visiting for their anniversary, too. it was very pleasant, had a lovely fairly quiet table by a window and in a quiet corner. we were seated very quickly, had ordered our wine, and we just getting comfortable and our dinners arrived, which was too quickly for our liking. we had decided to pass on the salads and appetizers, even though they were half price, but were not quite ready for our entrees when they arrived so soon!
they were all very delicious, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. we were treated to a glass of dessert wine following our meals, which was a nice surprise.
the evening was very nice since we don't get to see these friends very often. would certainly recommend this restaurant to others.
I have been to this restaurant before and it has been great. It seemed like everyone was using their Groupons before the expiry date and they were understaffed. The service was slow and my steak was overdone. Last time we used a Groupon it made me want to go back. We had the full menu and the food was awesome. This time they nickled and dimed over prices (eg plus $2 for a Caesar salad??) and the food was only ok. I know they can do better but we have lots of other choices. Not sure if we will go back after this.
A friend and I went to LeVille Restaurant we only had soup and a dessert but the lobster bisque was delicious and very nicely presented.
The dessert I had was simple but beautifully decorated. My friends dessert was very good.
We enjoyed our visit and would go back. Our only complaint was the noise level, it was sometimes difficult to hear each other.
Found LeVilla on OpenTable and figured we'd try it out for our monthly date night. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm on a Sunday and we arrived about 15 minutes early. Atmosphere was nice, and very clean. They did not appear to be very busy, as there was only a handful of other tables. Service was mediocre, would have expected better for how slow it was, until it came time to pay. We were presented with the bill and waited about 20 minutes for our server to return. We physically had to get up and meet her inside by the bar to process payment.
We were quite disappointed with the food. The broccoli cheddar soup of the day was excellent, the coconut prawns and prime rib were okay, but the steak Neptune (rib eye, medium rare) was burnt on the outside and not cooked very evenly. About 3/4 of the steak was medium to well done and a small portion of it was medium rare. The over charred exterior really diminished the flavour of the steak. The chocolate lava cake was our favourite part.
Had higher expectations from one of Calgary's top steakhouses, especially considering we paid top dollar.
Went for a nice meal with a large group of ladies for a bachelorette before the night out. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. They handled the large group perfectly and had us out and on our way on time for our next event although we never felt rushed. Love love love
I have been to the restaurant before. Enjoyed the food and decided to come back for a birthday dinner for my mom. When I made the reservation I added notes saying it was for an occasion. The staff first sat us in the door way. I asked for another table. Got it. No reference that it was my mom b day. I was didsapointed about the cold service. Food was good. Service felt impersonal and rushed. Will not have special occasions there.
We loved dining at Le Villa Restaurant with our visiting guests .
The patio is always our preference.
It is neat clean and cozy. The gentry is very nice. It is quite . Food is very delicious and fresh. The Lobster bisque soup was outstanding We tried steel Head trout . Cooked to perfection. The desert is well presented and delicious. Our server was very good too.
We came to LeVilla to celebrated a birthday . We love coming here; the food is fantastic, ambiance is quaint. This time unfortunately my halibut & prawns dish was overcooked as was my daughters steak. Otherwise no complaints, our server was great. We will definitely be back.
Arrived at 5:30 and the restaurant was fairly quiet. There were four of us (former co-workers) and we get together about three times a year. The food is always delicious and came to our table nice and hot. I had the 6 oz beef tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection. By the time we left the restaurant was quite full and boisterous. Great location and great service.
It was good but unfortunately we were underwhelmed. Ceaser salad was a few leaves and steak Diane was overly salty. Ambiance probably would've been better inside the main restaurant rather than in the bright, enclosed patio room over looking a construction site.
Although it took about 25 minutes for a member of staff to approach us to get our drink order in, the night was exceptional. Priscilla took great care of us and ensured we had a great time. The food is amazing and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
We were a group of 5 and fully sampled the menu between us. Brie appy was excellent, Lobster Bisque very tasty. For mains we had the Duck, Lobster, Rack of Lamb, Steel Head Trout and Steak Neptune. All dishes were loved by all with no negative comments. Topped the evening off with Creme Brule and coffees. Great evening for all. Service was very good only issue was the appy came after the soup. My preference would have been for the other way around.
