Level Small Plates Lounge Ratings and Reviews
While I️ understood that this restaurant offers “small plates,” the portion certainly wasn’t commensurate with the prices charged. Also, the service wasn’t good. We told our server we were ready, but she walked away. Also we had to specifically call out that we needed more water and additional drinks—we were never asked, nor did she notice. The drinks were heavy on the juice/mixers. The noise level was loud. So while the food was ok, our enjoyment was diminished by the rest of the experience. Not someplace I️ would recommend to others.
This was my second time to Levels, and the first time I made a reservation. Although I made a reservation we were led upstairs to a small table in the middle of the room- while other tables in quieter spots were empty. Having gone to the effort to make a reservation and eating there once before seated in a nice spot on the first floor, I was not impressed by it. We asked to be seated elsewhere and were accommodated after a few minutes. However, the noise level was still high and the tables are too close together. The waiter barely fit between the two tables when taking orders. Secondly, I thought the prices were a bit high for what we received. One glass of wine each and 2 small tapas plates each. The bill w tip was $85.00 While I thought the food was good- the servings were really small- very tapas. I don't know that I would come back.
Second visit for us as a pre-symphony night. Everything is done well here with its small plate options. I loved that we could mix things up with seafood, meat, salad and snacks to make a well-rounded meal. The ambience and service are pleasant, albeit food comes out quickly. We were able to pace things by ordering two items and then ordering two more once we finished those. My only complaint is limited wines by the glass.
Our server David made the meal so fun - he was funny, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. The food was good, but some of the items we wanted had been shifted to a new restaurant the owners purchased apparently, so we were a little disappointed there. Overall, it was a good experience and a fun place. The cocktails were great!
Loved the food! We had so many things but the scallops were great (cooked to perfection) and the hummus was excellent. It was a little loud and sometimes drinks took a while but they were busy so we orally understandable and tables were spread out very well so I️ didn’t feel cramped like some crowded restaurants make you feel. And the service was great.
It had been a long while between visits. My initial visit the restaurant was far more "rustic" than my recent visit where I found the cool hipster crowd ambiance that the restaurant was trying to reach a little too cool for my taste. The wine selection was bland for the most part and the only thing that struck me was the price of a glass of wine. If I pay $11 I look for a hearty glass not some cutesy little serving. The small plate selections were, how should I put this? Unremarkable. They did sound yummy but isn't half the battle really? We sat upstairs and the cozy atmosphere reminded me of the Delhi airport arrival building.
We were a group of sixteen attending USNA reunion. We had changed our original reservation from ten to fourteen and then our group grew to sixteen. They went out of their way to accomadate us. Our reservation was for 8:30and we arrived fifteen minutes early. While waiting for the table to be ready, we were served complimentary level one gimlets, yummy! Each and every dish we ordered was outstanding. Scallops, lobster Mac cheese, tuna tartare, spring rolls crab gnocchi, beet salad, and more, Everyone ordered at least two plates and no one left hungry. And most importantly, our server was fantastic!
Celebrating my birthday with friends in this great venue. Good atmosphere, excellent knowledgeable, friendly service, delicious tasty sharing plates (my favorite concept) and overall great experience. The kitchen decided on the order we would get our food. It was well done and the time between service was well executed. But the highlight of the night were the beautifully crafted cocktails that we got to enjoy with the food. Good fiends, great food, amazing cocktails. A winning combination!
This is a popular restaurant for 25-40 year olds. We didn't fit into that category being over 55.
It was VERY noisy. Having said all that, the food was very good, and the drinks were creative. Our server, Dimitri, was excellent and should have a raise!! regardless of what he is paid. He is a plus for this establishment and no, we are not related.
While the food was admittedly good, I was disappointed with the value. With four small plates (which are small) split between two people and water, our bill was $49. I love that they source their food locally, but I think that tapas should be between $6-10 per plate based on the amount of food presented.
