Leunigs Bistro has been a Burlington institution since it opened in 1980. Located on the corner of Church and College Streets on the Marketplace, it invites all passers by to visit Burlington's own little Parisian Cafe. The decor and ambiance will make you think you're in Paris, and the food will make you think you've died and gone to heaven. A member of the Vermont Fresh Network, Leunigs chefs prepare the best of local ingredients with a worldly accent. Live jazz with dinner Tuesday, Wednesday. Lunch served Monday-Saturday, Dinner every night, and Brunch on Sunday. Great wines by the glass or bottle, full liquor service. Best people watching in town. Absolutely a trip to Paris! What an amazing
incarnation of the charming atmosphere,
culinary passion, classic dishes and regional
creativity of the best bistros in France. We do
not live in Vermont, but find many excuses to cross
Lake Champlain in order to feast at Leunig's Bistro.

This was my second time at Leunig's. I enjoyed the shrimp po'boy, my husband enjoyed his lunch, but adult kids didn't care for kolrabi dish they ordered.

My boyfriend and I had a very romantic dinner date here! We sat along the wall. The service was great, as well as the food and the wine!

Had the best meal of my life last weekend at Leunig's! I ordered their seasonal dish of seared scallops with pumpkin risotto. The whole dish was to die for! We also ordered 2 desserts, the coconut cream pie and the pumpkin cheesecake. Both were so delicious! I wish I came back and ate here every night I was in town.

Our second or third meal here in the past couple years. All meals have been good to very good. We had 6PM reservations , and we trying to get in and out for a 7:30 Flynn show. They accommodated us nicely for that. We had drinks and entrees only. A couple of us had the filet with a white seafood sauce over the top (supposedly containing crab and lobster - but very tiny pieces if true), asparagus and mashed potatoes. The filet was not perfect, it had some small gristle strands through it (meat cutter?) but it was cooked perfectly and you could eat it all. A bit pricey at $35. They should put a good sized piece of lobster and crab meat ontop to dress it up . Two of us had the scallop dish - outstanding. Two of us had steak frittes, also very good. Eating quarters are tight in the dining room, but the food is always very very good and the wait staff is attentive, and food comes out promptly. Presentation was good, esp. the scallops. We all felt good about our meals and the experience.
