Great food and friendly service. Atmosphere was warm and inviting near the fire place on a cold and snowy night. From appetizers to dessert everything was cooked perfectly.
Leslie's was clearly a five star experience! It's right off route 91, in a beautiful historic home, lovingly cared for. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing! The owner/chef even gives cooking lessons. The mushroom soup, duck and carrot cake were outstanding all cooked with local ingredients. It is quiet, romantic, reasonably priced. A gem!
All around 10 rating. Salad for two - one of the best salads ever. Just a great restaurant to enjoy excellent food with a very cozy relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
Always a pleasure dining at Leslie’s! My husband asked me what I was going to have before we got there. This is one restaurant where I can say I need to wait to see the menu. There are definitely items always on the menu like the amazing crab cake appetizer. But I look forward to the dinner selection as it’s always got some interesting surprises. And I ALWAYS save room for dessert. The dessert selection is as good as the main course! My husband has known Leslie and John a long time. We are so very fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber in a small town. We will be back, again and again!!
Absolutely love this restaurant I love the owners . Feel like you are dinning in a comfortable and family atmosphere.
Had seared scallops on noodles with cream sauce and it was flavorful. Good, attentve service.
We had pot stickers for appetizers, Delicous!
I had a ceasar salad that was amazing in its flavor.
WE had NY strip steaks and steak tips, they were all delicious, add the fingerling potatoes, the squash, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal with Mom.
Mom enjoyed the Orange Broule and we shared a carrot cake.
We love taking our time, Leslie waits until we are finished with one part of the meal before she brings out the next portion.
John cooks a delicious meal, we really love coming for special occasions or sharing with family from out of town.
We drive by this outstanding restaurant regularly but had not been there till recently. It was so nice to not be rushed and able to talk and even enjoy the soothing music. The food was very good from the starter course to the desert. My steak was wonderful! I highly recomend this cozy fine dining establisment
The food was excellent and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. The mushroom soup was delicious. The rack of lamb and the duck were both done perfectly to order. The downside to the evening was since it was New Years Eve the kitchen, while turning out excellent food, was overwhelmed by the crowd and therefore extremely slow.
I've been to Leslie's twice and both times the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it. The wait staff is attentive without being hovering. I love the ambiance of the place also. The price is a little high for our budget, so we save Leslie's for special occasions. It's tiny, so I suggest a reservation.
We all loved the food and atmosphere. Great interaction with Leslie and staff.
We were on a winter getaway in Vermont and stumbled upon Leslie's while looking for a nice spot for dinner, and we're glad we did! The restaurant is super cute, and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the mushroom soup and lamb, while my partner had french onion soup and veal. We split a lava cake for dessert, and left full and satisfied. The wine list was short but full of good options.
As noted in other reviews, service was a bit slow on the slow side, but not annoyingly so. The waiter and Leslie herself were both extremely nice, and clearly working hard. A couple extra minutes to linger over the last glug of wine certainly isn't the worst thing in the world.
If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we'll definitely be back!
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner, and we did not have to drive far. Would recommend Leslie's for any occasion.
Always a winner, Leslie's is great, warm, comfortable, tasty, cozy and not to be missed.
My husband and I LOVE Leslie's. Took my father and sister this time. My sister said it was the best meal she's ever had in Vermont! It's also relaxing and you never feel rushed. This is a hidden gem!
We love Leslie's and have had many great meals there. The owners (the chef and his wife) are very accommodating if you have special dietary needs/restrictions. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and most likely Leslie will be your server so you'll get very personal attention. We only wish it was closer to home so we could go more often!
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. The food (all of it) was creative and delicious. The sauce from my piscatory was so flavorful I wanted to lick my plate! The triple chocolate delight that we had for desert was sumptuous! A great place for a special occasion.
Amazing. That's all i have to say. Amazing all around.
Great food! Tasty
Mushroom soup is excellent! Good food using great ingredients served in a casual atmosphere at very reasonable prices!
We had a party of 9 for a family birthday and were given a room to ourselves. Food was really good with a large amount of choices to choose from. The lamb chops are especially well done and the lava cake dessert was fantastic. Server was as attentive as possible while slammed with tables to wait on. Overall a very good place to eat with a group.
Food and Staff were great!!! Wonderful place for a special Date!!!
Just what we had hoped to have. Food was creative and fresh. A real find!
Fabulous meal, very good service. Would definitely stop in again when in the area.
We could not have been happier. Leslie herself made our reservations possible - on a difficult crowded schedule - and was charming in her communications and welcome. The meal, the staff, the setting, the whole experience reflects her special style and hurt husband's - the chef - professional hand. Recommend very very highly.
Very nice casual dining in a rustic setting. Food presentation was as excellent as the flavor of the food. Dining area was quiet, well spaced, and easy to have a conversation. Owner/host/service was very friendly and took time to get to know guests. Owner/chef was also friendly and accommodating. Considerably less expensive than in the big city but of the same quality. Because owner operated, a little slower than a typical meal out but we enjoy that. If anywhere near the area, I am certain you will enjoy an evening at Leslie's Tavern.
Just a down to earth , comfortable, homey setting, with excellent food, service and wait staff. A bit pricey, but worth it. Owners very much present and available.
Second time there and again the evening was perfect. The food selection is excellent and the preparation and presentation outstanding. Look forward to visiting again soon.
Awesome meal and service. Our first time to Leslie's. We will be back.
A hidden gem that we found on our way to New Hampshire. Food was incredible and the owner, who wore many hats was lovely. Food was farm fresh and so tasty. We definitely will be back.
There is no such thing as a poor meal at Leslie's. Her husband is an awesome chef. Leslie herself makes desserts worth saving room for. Leslie waits tables and talks with her guests, putting people at ease and making it a fun experience. We always choose Leslie's for special occasions. And while the menu is great, the specials are truly special. Serving size is perfect too.
We have been going to Leslie's for most of its 31 yrs and have always found it excellent quality, interesting recipes, fun ambience, and wonderful personal service. Nothing is "not good", everything is worth a try and maybe a full meal if possible. Desserts are also excellent ...
A very pleasant tavern, excellent food and warm friendly owner and staff! A place worth the visit and return for another!!
Absolutely one of the best restaurant treasures around! I've been driving by this establishment for years, always thinking I'd make a reservation. When my children returned home from all around the country I made the reservation online, very quick and easy. The overall "feel" in that old home was warm and welcoming. We had an excellent meal, awesome service - I cannot say enough about how Leslie's will now become a regular place to dine out. I highly recommend it!
we were camping and came across this very nice restaurant. The owner Leslie is a very nice and friendly person and her husband is a great chef. We definitely will be back again. I would also like to mention the food was very good.
The carrot cake!!! Omg, we had to take two pieces home because we were so full and is amazing, just had to get that out there. Leslie was a peace and a ball of energy and positivity, we hope to have you and your husband down to Rhode Island soon so we can show you the same hospitality you showed us, thank you for a great experience and please tell your husband, chef to chef he did an amazing job.
Our anniversary dinner was fantastic, as is every meal at Leslie's! Great conversation with Leslie herself, special creative drinks (Make me a fun drink, ok?) and John's creativity in the kitchen is unmatched anywhere else we go! Corn risotto, to die for!
Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Leslie is so personable and pleasant and the food was great. You can visit with your friends and not be constantly interrupted by wait staff . The courses came promptly and the ingredients were the freshest. It is pricey but worth it. So many restaurants are so noisy that you can't visit with your friends. What's the point in going if you have to shout across a table? Try Leslies.
Excellent! One of the best restaurants in New England.
