I like this place: good food, the best french fries in Boston, and a nice setting. Food was predictably good for lunch, but our waiter was a spaceshot: i asked for 3 things, and he got 2 of them wrong. I’ll chalk it up to a bad day on his part. Other than that, it’s always a good meal, and server aside, this was no exception.
Great food. Good wine, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Colleagues and I have become regulars for monthly lunch and catch-up conversations. Acoustics vary depending on where we sit, and the service and food are always excellent.
Food presentation was great. I had mushroom chicken risotto which was good but not as flavorful as I had hoped. A bit bland. Other 2 diners were pleased with their meal.
Wait staff very good with timing.
Exellelent they maitre D asked if we wanted a table close to the music and we were seated at nice table with a view and Nick the waiter was informative and corteous
Almost every aspect of the dining experience was disappointing to say the least but the coup de gras was the more than an hour wait between the appetizer course and the main course which came out severely undercooked and the fact that the manager on that evening didn't even have the courtesy to come over and apologize.
I surprised my boyfriend with dinner here. It was great because my friend was booked as the entertainment that night. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. However, the dining room chairs are quite small and hard which was really uncomfortable for my 6’3” boyfriend. But the Maitre D was awesome. He brought out the chair from his office! It was great because little did they know that my boyfriend has rheumatoid arthritis and he also just had orthoscopic surgery last week. Those chairs could have been a deal breaker for us. We were really impressed that they would go to such lengths for our comfort.
Good beef but side of pear risotto didn’t work quite as well as i would have liked; service was also a tad slow
This was a birthday dinner (mine) and we went for the oysters ($1 oysters are available in sit down not just at bar and are delicious). Overall a good meal. Great cocktails. A couple of small boo-boos: our server was initially a bit rattled/seemed unsure of himself--he wrote down the drink order but came back to ask what we had ordered but did not apologize. I suspected an unfamiliarity with the menu/language, but he was very attentive despite serving 5 tables. Management made an appearance a few times to see how we were doing. The Bouillabaisse was billed as coming with lobster but mine did not; also out of two Apple and Beet Melange salads ordered one was missing the apple--salad was delicious though. My husband got the pork loin, which was huge and perfectly cooked, and the sweet potato puree with thyme was amazing. My Bouillabaisse full of seafood despite the missing lobster, good flavor but the broth was a tad salty. The cheese plate was abundant although I think I could have picked better cheeses from Whole Foods. It turned out to be a pleasant 2+ hour meal (our intent); I would definitely return, but stay in the bar and get the $1 oysters and some good ale.
Never have I been disappointed with the food or service. Always fabulous! Wonderful atmosphere with the best jazz musicians.
Cozy adult restaurant with really good food! Our waiter did not rush us even when we were visiting with a friend - we really enjoyed the live music as we had our meal, great jazz!
Been here a couple of time and had a fantastic experience at each one. Food is great. Neat view if you can snag a window table. A bit expensive for lunch but the food is good.
Food is very good (Bearnaise is a tad vinegary) and the service was great...just no buzz on the bistro side bit it is fine for a quiet (very) romantic dinner...
It has been several years since my last visit but my memory was of an excellent meal. This was no difference. A very comfortable and cozy ambience with live jazz music in the background. Excellent food and service. We enjoyed the tuna carpaccio and baked Brie apps! The lamb, duck, fruit de mer and scallops were all great. Location is a little off in the tiny leather district squeezed between South Station and Kneeland Street but it is worth the trip. We loved it again!
Fun time at Les Zygomates. Great food, great service. Will go again soon!
What a fun night! I was there with friends for my birthday. The band created such an exciting atmosphere! The whole place felt electrified! The food was not as good as I remember and the service a little slow, but everything else made up for it!
The food was excellent, amazing. The waiter was brand new and very inexperienced. He was nice but just was not well trained, didn’t know the menu or really know the food. We are real foodies so recommendations from the waiter are important to a great meal. Not sure if it’s was him or the training? Also generally love music, but this was not good. Still the food was incredible and that’s what you go to a restaurant for, right?
Very tasty, with excellent service. I had a very tasty portobello special and my colleague clearly enjoyed her beef dish. Recommended.
A wonderful experience and I will definitely be back to enjoy the live Jazz and excellent food/drinks! Very much worth the trip for anyone looking to try a new place!
I would definitely come back for an evening of great music, good food, wine and cocktails. Very cool atmosphere and bar. Service was a little slow but very good when it happened!
$1 oysters were a pleasant surprise so we started with a dozen of those. Delicious! There is an extensive wine list and our waiter was great; he picked out a few wines that I wouldn't have otherwise tried to sample and he was spot on. Then we listened to the live jazz piano while waiting for our main courses - steak frites (ask them to substitute truffle fries for the regular fries and you won't be disappointed). Topped the meal of with a creme brulee that you should save room for.
Perfect for a casual or business gathering. I especially liked the bar area where it was open but gave enough space between tables. The atmosphere was smooth, laid back and sophisticated. This was the first time at the restaurant and I was impressed, from the beer/drink selection, food and employees. I can't wait to go back and tell my friends about it!
We waited for our food for an hour, and ultimately had to walk out. The waitress could not have cared less.
Service and food were outstanding as usual. Only down side is that the music was a bit loud for conversation. On next visit I will try to be seated further away from the band location. Music was good, but loud.
Lovely dinner spot with great food, good music, polite efficient wait staff.
Fabulous evening. Service by wait staff was excellent with attention to detail and serving our needs. Listened to Yoko Miwa Trio band and highly recommend you check them out.
Awful experience. Served a Random dinner that I did not order. Then to try to fix it served me a teaspoon of Bernaise sauce. Server thought it was comicle and smirked. My husband and I ate nothing for our anniversary. Then come to find out our credit card was charged twice. I'm still mad
Nick was Our Server and he was just superb. We ordered Escargot, Oysters and Steak Tartar, it was delicious. The service was great, managers came and check on us, everything was great.
Will be back soon.
Wonderful experience here! Went for my boyfriend's birthday and requested to sit near the band because he loves jazz, and they had a nice corner table reserved for us. Delicious meal and friendly service as well. No complaints!
Service was awful! We waited a good 15-20 minutes before our waiter acknowledged us and a half hour for our meals - 2 burgers and a club sandwich. The dining room was almost half full so no excuse for slow service with waitstaff or kitchen. And no explanation or apologies for service - or lack there of. Sandwiches were ok but not great. Won't be knocking down doors to return anytime soon.
The food was well prepared. Everyone loved their choices. The service was not up to par. Very disappointing. Last time we dined there the service was great.
The pork chop was over cooked and dry
The ravioli were over salted
They should increase the size of the stage and have the pianist in a classical sideways position to the audience
The pianist is outstanding and many people come to see her not her back
The service is excellent as usual
Food was OK. Wellfleet oysters were a wee bit suspect. menu not particularly French. Duck was a bit chewy. Service was a tad slow - not that busy but polite and pleasant staff. Jazz was great. Atmosphere good. high ceilings helped diffuse ambient noise. Cocktails great.
We had a very nice dinner at Les Zygomates. It was chosen based on proximity to the Seaport district. Music was a nice touch, although it can be a little loud for dinner conversation. Food was excellent, although somewhat pricy. Service was good, but shortstaffed even though it was not very busy.
Zygomates always pleases - had a terrific dinner with a pal at Les Zygomates this week. Scallops and salads were great, as were side veggie dishes - garlicky broccoli! Go there now....
Always a good, easy location for a South Station area business or friend lunch.
Disappointment this time, however. On my Open Table reservation, I had requested a table by the window. I was seated in the back room, with no windows at all. I might have complained, but my lunch companion had arrived on time and been seated. I arrived two minutes after my reservation, but the hostess was no where in sight. When she returned after I had waited 10 minutes -- meaning that my lunch companion had been kept waiting for me -- requesting the kind of table I had asked for seemed too much bother.
Lovely people, great vibes, amazing food. I'll be back!!!
First time at Les Zygomates Wine Bar Bistro but it will not be the last. Service was good. Food was very good as well.
One of our favorite date night spots; great food and wine accompanied by amazing live jazz.
Dinner was less than mediocre. However, the wine list and cocktails were great and the happy hour $1 oysters were great as well. If you go, sit at the bar, enjoy the drinks, grab an app, and go somewhere else for a meal.
