It was a great night to chill with a friend, listen to some music, and dress up. However, please update your website. There were items on your menu (on the site) that weren't on the actual menu, and vise versa.
Les Zygomates is a great place to listen to very good jazz while enjoying a cocktail or a glass of wine. I would go grab dinner somewhere else first though.
Good times at les zygomates. Great wine list. Food is superb and excellent oysters. Live music could have been better but fair. Not as lively as it could be. Having the band raised on a stage takes away from the feel vs. At ground level. You didn't come to see a band...you came to enjoy and partake "with" a band.
Two separate lounges and a dining room with two areas though joined at a "U" shaped venue with two entrances tries to please everyone. It may do just that and its a great place to go and enjoy excellent food and drinks with friends.
Food choice and food quality very good. I asked in the reservation and in person for a quiet table and then got seated in the middle of tables that made my business meeting more difficult.
Good cocktails and the service was good and the meal was tasty. Good night out.
We had a post matinee meal at 5:30 last Saturday which was just a short walk from the theater district. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was excellent and we proceeded to have a very pleasant and delicious meal. I would recommend the wine flights; to sample 4 wines for a reasonable price was great. There was a jazz band on the other side of the restaurant which was quite festive but not loud. The restaurant side was in fact rather quiet, so all in all, a rather pleasant experience. Looking forward to returning.
The food was excellent. Service started out great, but wee waited 25 minutes for dessert, which clearly had been under a heat lamp (the ice cream was melted and the molten cake dry). But, the waitress comped the dessert. The noise level started out fine, but steadily increased, as though the guy playing the xylophone wanted to be sure he was heard.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Started over in the dining room then to jazz bar. Drinks and food were fabulous.
New Year's Eve Prix Fixe menu was good. Wine pairing was disappointing but the food was good.
Fantastic! Loved the music, loved the food, loved the wine. Our server was attentive but not overbearing and allowed us to have a nice, long, wonderful meal. Great prices, too! $25 for a wine flight is an absolute steal. It was truly a splendid time and we will absolutely be back.
Fun, unpretentious and quality. We went for a family dinner and wound up friends with the couple celebrating their anniversary at the next table. Dollar oysters 5 days a week and reasonable prices for excellent food and drinks means I'll be back.
Great atmosphere and dining experience, service was timely and the mussels were so decadent and fresh!!
I hadn't eaten at Les Zygomates in several years. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Boston with a welcoming staff, expertly prepared French bistro food and excellent jazz. The good: Les Zyg still books outstanding jazz acts. The bad: poorly prepared faux French food. The ugly: Our waiter, Javier had a surly attitude (and incorrectly thought himself clever enough to take our order without writing it down) and presented me with the wrong entree. Twenty minutes after my partner had finished her entree, Javier presented me with a too rare version of what I had actually ordered. He cared not, made no adjustments to the bill, did not comp dessert or make any goodwill gesture you might expect from a reputable restaurant.
There is no shortage of outstanding restaurants in Boston; choose one of them for dinner then go to Les Zyg after for cocktails and jazz. Minus the faux French cuisine and faux French wait staff, Les Zyg is still a cool spot to hear great jazz.
This was a lunch meeting and the food took more than an hour to come out. While that’s long even for a dinner, when you are at work it just can’t be. We almost had to leave before eating
I'm sorry to provide less than positive feedback; I usually have good things to say on these review opportunities.
I had a turkey club that appeared to be pre-made. The lettuce was completely wilted and inedible and the sandwich was soggy and greasy. I thought a club would be toasted and crispy and freshly made but this was just messy.
My lunch companion had the apple sandwich, which on the menu said was served on French bread. It came to the table with rye so was sent back.
It also took a long time to get food for a lunch menu which would have been OK if the food was decent. Overall, very disappointed and underwhelmed for a basic lunch fare. I would think twice about returning.
Ok food and service but who cares? Awesome jazz and that's what counts. Amazing band and really cool venue to listen. We'll be back for sure and often.
Great place, great service, great food. We will be back for sure!
Great meal, very attentive server. A wonderful night out.
Wonderful food, wine, service and great jazz band! We had an excellent time!
great food! sole was amazing! loved the live music
Absolutely loved it. Thanks for making our celebration so special
Enjoyed the wine flights. An excellent experience. Music was delightful, service top notch. Would definitely return.
GREAT FOOD AND GOOD AMBIANCE
I ENJOYED THE PLACE AND THE SERVICE
PRICES A BIT EXPENSIVE
I loved this place. Would definitely recommend it and will be back again. I was looking for a lovely night out with live jazz music to go with my dinner. This place did not disappoint. The staff were brilliant. A lovely gem in Boston.
Wonderful as always !
What a find! Outstanding food...everything we ordered was so well prepared. I'd recommend the short rib and the French onion soup...both carefully prepared and so delicious.
Food was creative, attractively presented and delicious! Wine list was outstanding, staff well informed and helpful. Music was the perfect volume and pairing!
Good but pricey.
Lovely French restaurant. Best onion soup and oysters!Enjoyed being in the jazz bar room. Actually found metered street parking which made our time there all the better!
Excellent dinner. Delicious steak tartar and a fun take on escargot with a pastry 'shell'. The Margret duck breast with cherry was incredibly rich in flavor. Must try - probably the best I've had in Boston and enormous portion that can easily be shared by two adults. Jazz piano was excellent (provided by Professors from Berklee College of Music or New England Conservatoire). Only downside was the molten chocolate cake was slightly overcooked (thus less molten) and no special treat for my Mum's Birthday - which I had written on the open table reservation. That said, I would still recommend this restaurant!
Great place to eat and enjoy some jazz!
Good food service real slow
Pretty good services, though a bit disappointed in their live music performance. I don’t think they can do anything about it, but definitely look up their event schedule, find your fav performers and go.
The trio playing in the bar, where we ate dinner, took the whole night to such a special and fun level!
Enjoyed the food, drinks, and the music. The Yoko Miwa Trio is a fabulous jazz ensemble.
We arrived for our 5:45 reservation on a Friday and we're graciously lead to the quiet area away from bar and we're given choice of available tables. Live jazz played in the background but did not create a noisy atmosphere, just pleasant ambiance. Oyster special ($1 each) was great - they were fresh and delicious. Impressive, varied, well laid out, wine list. Specials of the day to choose from - my husband had the scallops on a bed of butternut squash with farro which he enjoyed. Attentive service. Will definitely return.
Carlos’ service was outstanding. Food was almost as good.
The service was good but the mac and cheese did not have any sauce and was oily. That left to be desired.
Service was beyond slow. Almost 3 hours from arrival until finishing our entrees.
