Les Nomades Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent and the service was as well. I had been here once before and was equally impressed. It is not inexpensive but worth the $$$$ for a special occasion. The only suggestion I can make is that some of the decor is a bit dated for a restaurant of this caliber
My wife and I returned to Les Nomades to celebrate our anniversary. We had another fantastic evening. Food continued to meet my HIGH expectations - hard to chose best dishes between my seared foie gras, wild mushroom soup with truffle foam and duo of veal and sweetbreads - guess I’ll have to go with the amazing soufflé! Service and ambience were also refined and engaging.
A throwback to authentic formal French dining. These types of restaurants don't really exist anymore, and that's a shame. The wine list is extensive, the staff are very friendly yet professional, food is beautifully served.
This is for an elegant night out. Gents, put your jacket on. It's a wonderful dibing experience.
Don't let the jacket requirement keep you from one of the best meals in the city. Fantastic French cuisine with fresh ingredients and innovative preparations. An outstanding wine list and service to match will not leave you disappointed. Don't discount the bar either!
We've celebrated our 20th anniversary @Les Nomades and we had an outstanding experience.
The chef exceeded all the expectations we had in regards to having true French Food in Chicago.
The beef ribs and the mushroom risotto were my favorite picks, while my wife loved the King Crab.
I took my wife here to celebrate her birthday. The staff was amazing, very helpful and very personable. We started with sparkling rose which was outstanding. With the first half of the meal we each had a glass of Sauvignon blanc recommended by the staff and was excellent. First course was the artichoke terrine and asparagus risotto. Both were wonderfully prepared and presented. Second was the duck consommé and warm lobster and shrimp salad. Both again absolutely fantastic. Then we each had a glass of red French wine also recommended and was wonderful. And for the main course the roasted duck and duo of slow roasted veal and lamb. Hard for me to say which I preferred. The duck was truly amazing. And then dessert, pastry assortment and praline mille-fueille both again wonderful. All of the meal was so well prepared with amazing presentation and such tremendous attention to detail. The incredible amount of time and effort to prepare and present each course was noticed and so appreciated. The suggested wine pairing was perfect with their amazing wine selections. It was an evening to remember and will certainly repeat when we return to Chicago.
I had such an amazing time celebrating my anniversary here everyone was so kind and professional. The food service was fast and the food was amazing. My favorite part was the surprise cake that said happy 3 year anniversary. It was definitely worth the price. I will definitely be returning for another special occasion.
I went there 2 years ago, I liked very much and return on 9/22 but this experience was not so good . We arrived well dress but my husband was not using a jacket and they demamded a jacket. We returned to our hotel by the jacket and returned to the restaurant . Unless this exigency after a have eatten oisters , they haven't the lavandes for hands. So , not so Franch!!
The food was very good, the halibut and the beef preparations were outstanding. I have eaten at some of the top class french restaurants around the globe and this was definitely among the best. The service is great, the portions are generous and the ambience is classic.
We were surprised the restaurants last sitting on a Friday night was 8 pm. We had made a booking for 8.30 on Open Table but were told at the restaurant that it was already a bit late for them. Realised that it was due to the business pressures these days.
Perhaps the best dining experience I have ever had in Chicago. Just an outstanding experience in every way. Authentic French cuisine, superb wine list, unparalleled service (addressed as "Mr. and Mrs.__" throughout the meal). Not surprisingly, the dining experience comes at a dear price, but it was worth every dollar. We will definitely return for future special occasions.
Les Nomades is, in our opinion, the very best place for fine dining in the City. There is no better place to celebrate a special occasion. The food is superb, and the service is a model of what the best service should be, quietly helpful and unobtrusive. Add the special ambiance and the warm and welcoming atmosphere generally and you have the perfect celebratory dinner.
Old-school meets new school in this gem. Refreshing and bright flavors alongside artfully sophisticated presentations are sure to wow. The service is impeccable. Bring your credit card with the generous spending ceiling, however, as prix fixe at 120/135 times two plus beverages will make you wish you hadn't sprung for those Tods at Neimann's.
Given the reputation, I was very disappointed with Les Nomades. It appears to be a restaurant stuck in a time warp as far as the style of cooking is concerned, and the service was as aloof. The mess they made of opening a $200 bottle of wine seems amateurish, if I'm being kind, and careless if I'm not.
Flavour combinations seem poorly judged and the main items on the plate where often overwhelmed by the pairings. And why are we still getting vegetable 'flowers' on the plate in 2017?
One of the truly classic French restaurants! The European sea bass was prepared excellently, the caviar surprise appetizer was light and went with Champaigne perfectly, and the lemon soufflé was as good as any I've had, very similar to a Gran Marnier yet different.
Les nomades is the best restaurant in Chicago!
Carlos was our fantastic waiter. He did everything possible to make the evening wonderful in a very unassuming way. The food was delicious and the presentation was superb.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great food and service for special occasions!
As always, a wonderful culinary experience to remember and kind a knowledgeable staff. Asparagus risotto and the wild mushroom soup appetizers, the wild salmon and the lamb/veal combo mains, and the flourless chocolate cake with passion fruit ganache center and ever classic soufflé for dessert were among the favorites! Every single bite was delicious and it is a fabulous, quiet spot for special occasions
Service is incredible, mature and welcoming. They are professional. Room is very well done but tables are a little close, not inlike a good French restaurant. Food is presented in a very prompt and timely manner. Everything me and my date had was outstanding and they are ready and willing to make sure everything is right at all times. Its not cheap and thats why I took a single star from value but you get what you pay for and they really deserve five stars there too. I definitely hope to return. I forgot to take a jacket and they of course accommodated me.
Absolutely superb! Quiet, restrained, elegant, warm setting, always with stunning floral arrangements. Informed, skilled wait staff. Inventive and creative menu that is classical in approach, not gimmicky. Beautiful presentation of perfectly prepared food. Outstanding wine list. Restores faith in the joy and possibilities of fine dining.
Absolutely outstanding!! The food was perfect from presentation to taste. We did wine pairings (~$72/person) and they were spot on with some very interesting twists and takes on the pairings. As noted it is expensive, but worth the experience for a special occasion. Love the dress attire, it's so nice to actually get dressed up for a night out, brings the whole experience to a level that is sadly, becoming a thing of the past.
