Les Folies Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
Les Folies can be relied on for excellent food and pleasant professional service. In addition to the regular menu, there are usually a few specials offered. We enjoyed fresh anchovies with small fingerling potatoes and Dover sole on our last visit. The wine list is reasonably priced.
One of the iconic restaurants in the area, but more importantly a great place to have a fine meal with impeccable food and incredible wine! I have dined there for 25 years and Les Folies is one of the most reliable fine dining establishments in Annapolis and the surrounding area.
Once again we had a first class dinner at Les Folies! It being a Monday night only a few tables were busy so we almost had a waitress to ourselves. My lamb chops were cooked perfectly, but the winner of the evening was the bouillabaisse that two members of our party ordered. The green salad appetizer was excellent as well, as was the Caesar salad. We finished with Good cups of French coffee and delightful desserts. Always an excellent, authentic, French dining experience!
We had Sunday evening reservations with our family. Appetizers consisted of oysters, calimari, mussels and escargot which were wonderful. The main street courses were rack of lamb, steak friet and Dover sole which was filleted table-side. The meal was enjoyed by all.
Our Server Carol was fabulous as always.
Paulina our other server always goes above and beyond.
The food Amazing!!! The service Impeccable.
The atmosphere romantic, professional and personable.
You are truly made to feel like a guest in this Restraunt.
Highly recommend for any Occassion.
We had a lovely birthday celebration dinner. As we have come to expect, service was attentive without being intrusive, the food was well prepared and very tasty (I had the rack of lamb and the birthday girl had the Dover sole) , and we shared a souffle for dessert. We had the baked mussels before the meal and they were delicious, as well as the vegetable soup which reminded me of some delicious soups that my grandmother made in my youth.
I'd listened to the adds on WNAV in Annapolis and wanted to try French cooking. I saved money to to take my wife out for our 20 year wedding anniversary with high hopes knowing it was not going to be cheap. The bread and water came quick, I had to flag a waiter for a drink after 20 minuets. Overall we felt ignored like we didn't belong . Maybe because we were two and NOT a group. The greeter who was also the bartender was somewhat condescending in how I ordered my martini. The food, what little there was, was tasty but barely warm. I guess this was truly the "French"cuisine experience. I'll take the warm smile and generous portions of an average American restaurant any day. I don't mean to be so picky but when a business tries so hard to get you there and touts it's self as having such a high standards, then it should deliver. I was tempted to share our experience but that would have not been fair hard working employees behind the scene.
We visit this restaurant three or four times a year and it is alway very good. We both had veal dishes that were excellent and prepared as requested. We shared a bottle of Cote du Rhône Rose that was more sweet than I prefer, I did not expect that for a French Rose and it had a fresh “grape” aftertaste. There scalloped potatoes were not memorable.
For desert we had a Grand Mariner soufflé that was excellent and truly delicious! We shared it along with Tarte tatin which was lacking that absolutely wonder taste that we had previously, it might not have been freshly baked that day, disappointing.
The overall dining experience was calm, adult, and charming. Our waitress was tops.
Free valet parking was available and very convenient. We were greeted kindly at the host stand and our table was ready even though we were about 15 minutes early. Our drink order was taken upon being seated and arrived while we discussed the menu. The menu offered choices for all palates. Courses were presented at a pleasant pace allowing enjoyment of each course with time to enjoy conversations. All of our seven entrees were enjoyed. The ambiance of the room was pleasant with an appropriate noise level. We enjoyed our time at Less Folies and look forward to returning to enjoy some more selections from there menu.
Staff was exceptional. We were celebrating two Birthdays and an Anniversary. Food was great and everyone was most accommodating. Our 3yo grandson became ill shortly after ordering . Mom and child had to leave. The staff never showed annoyance and was most gracious especially our waiter. The food is always great and this is a favorite restaurant for us.
We returned to this wonderful Brasserie to meet up with old work colleagues and to meet the new babies and grandchild...The staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. The food was 'out of this world' and even the 4 year old had a soft crab all by her self !! The Dover sole and oysters were wonderful.Everyone had a wonderful time "catching up" and holding 6 month old twins.
Thanks Les Folies Brasserie for being so helpful...you all are the best!
We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary so I was looking for something different than our usual choices. I am a big fan of classical French cuisine and a friend recommended Les Folies. As soon as I saw that one of the specials was Beef Wellington, I knew I had chosen well. The Beef Wellington was superb. Every aspect of the dish was wonderful. And we had one each of the chocolate and raspberry soufflés, which were also executed perfectly. This was our first time at Les Folies, but we will not wait for a special occasion before returning. Our waitress Carol also helped make this a wonderful dining experience.
Les Folies Brasserie has officially become my favorite local restaurant. The service is always amazing, the food is so flavorful and delicious, and the atmosphere is so cozy. Its a great place to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends or a quiet and romantic date night. Every aspect of my dining experiences has been nothing less than exceptional. There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this place.
