Wow, what a wonderful restaurant! The food is as good as any French restaurant that I have visited in the Washington DC area. The portions are plentiful, the presentation outstanding and the quality of the ingredients superb. It is sheer pleasure to dine there.
Food is amazing. Staff is great! Crystal and Chef Krieger, thank you!
The dishes were made with fresh ingredients and very flavorful! Waiter could have given more time to our table but dedicated more time to a larger one next to us. Overall, it was a lovely evening.
Excellent meal if a little pricey. It was by far the best meal we had while in the area and we would definitely recommend it.
Food and service were wonderful. Tried to social distance for such a small place- worked out really well. Great wine list!
We went with no expectations, however could not have been more impressed. The food was phenomenal for lack of a better term, wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The ingredients in the food were fresh and prepared expertly, would recommend to all who are In the area, you will not be disappointed. From appetizers to desserts, everything ordered was enjoyed by all.
Absolutely a lovely place with superb food and service. Quaint atmosphere in charming, small town within steps of The Homestead. Wonderful experience! Repeatable!
Great food done really nice. wine list and service was very good.
Wonderful, charming restaurant. The food is outstanding and the wait staff is excellent. What a great find. If you are staying at the Homestead be sure to have dinner there at least once during your stay.
The watermelon salad was just incredible. The trout was The watermelon salad was just incredible. The trout was fabulous.
This is pricy but well worth the splurge!!
Always delicious. Onion soup remains some of the best!
From start to finish, an outstanding dining experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable and made recommendations for every course as well as wine. Delicious!
We are always delighted with our experience - wonderful, inventive dishes, great drinks and wine list as well as professional friendly service.
Great food and service. Bar prices much better than the resort up the street!
Vacation. Great food and service. Third time here. Always excellent.
Great food, service and value.
Such a great find! Staying at The Homestead and wanted something different. Wow! Exquisitely prepared dishes and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. The veal, trout, pork cheeks, Coq a vin, chef knows his way around a French kitchen! Great wine selection as well. All within a 2 minute walk from the resort. If you're visiting during Covid times, they have those protocols down. Will definitely return.
Being back at Les Cochon d’Or was wonderful. The staff was welcoming, the food and wine exceptional. We will never take for granted how lucky we are to have such a place in Hot Springs.. we had the pork cheeks and the special veal dish.
Repeat viait to one of our favorite dining establishments! Never disappoints - culinary delight!
This was our second time to visit your wonderful restaurant and it was even better the second time!!! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
Exceptional food and service. Definitely do yourself a favor and experience Les Cochon d'Or.
We were elated to dine at Les Cochon - and happy to get a reservation even if it was early, at 5. We enjoyed our food although the mussels and pork cheeks were both quite salty. The watermelon salad was very refreshing in contrast. Service was efficient and we would have stayed for dessert had we been seated outside, but didn’t want to linger indoors.
The service is not up to their usual 5star level. New staff are pleasant but not their usual top notch fine dining service level.
This was our first time at this great restaurant and we will defenitley return next time we are at The Homestead Resort. I had the pork cheeks and my wife had the trout and both dishes were outstanding. They were delicious. The service was also outstanding. We had Gabi as our waitress and we thoroughly enjoyed the service she provided. She was knowledgeable and just made the evening special. Don't miss this restaurant. I hope that it is there for many years.
The food here is consistently superb. We both had the trout entree and it was wonderful. Service is as good or better than you will find in a first class restaurant in a major city even though the town has not a single traffic light.
Excellent food and good service!
Outstanding meal and the service was incredible . I mentioned to the waiter that I enjoyed the bacon cheddar cornbread muffins and he brought me extra-even some to take home. I had the special appetizer which was lobster pea risotto for my entree and it was plenty and exceptional . My son had the French onion soup which he said was the best he had ever had. All of our meals were top notch. Would highly recommend .
Party of 6 and we all thought everything was superb especially the main dishes of trout and veal and the creme brulee. Cocktails were terrific too!!
Wonderful dinner. Kyle has re vamped his trout recipe. Delicious and light. Onion soup always a winner. Watermelon salad with passion fruit accents almost too pretty to eat. Look forward to our next visit!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely date night here while visiting The Homestead. It was one of the best meals I’ve had. We enjoyed the bread course followed by the French onion soup and compressed watermelon salad. The flavors were remarkable. He and I both had the black angus deckle, which is the most tender part of the ribeye, yum! Even the sides- potatoes and charred broccolini were so good! Then, we finished with the creme brûlée. Everything was divine and we will definitely visit again!
The music killed any ambiance the place could of had.
French onion soup was amazing!
Food in general was ok.
Cocktails on the menu were great, off menu drinks were bad.
We had a very nice time at Les Cochon d'Or. We arrived at the restaurant early and were told that our table wasn't available that the previous party was just finishing their dessert. I was a taken back that we had to ask to be seated outside for a drink while we waited on the table to be available> I feel that the restaurant should automatically ask that question as there really isn't anywhere to wait, nonetheless they accommodated us and as we waited for our drinks (at least 20 minutes in 92 degree weather) another table was available. Our first course consisted of a small yet appetizing bread service ( too small for the price that they had on the menu, oh well.... live and learn). I ordered the French Onion soup and I will say that by far the broth was the tastiest I had ever had, oh my gosh it was delicious! My husband ordered the PEI mussels and could get over the wine and garlic sauce that they were cooked in, he said it tasted just like his mom's and she is a phenomenal cook from Belgium. We decided to skip the salad service and go directly into the main course which again was on the small side of portions per my husband, I found that mine was just the perfect amount of food. I had the Braised Cheshire Pork Cheeks, it was incredible and as described by our server, was extremely tender!! My husband choose the Trout en Paupillote and it was love at first bite. He devoured the entire meal in less than 10 minutes, hence the reason he thought the portion was too small, personally he is just a fast eater!
I do believe that if you are visiting Hot Springs, VA you will not be sorry that you made reservations to this place, I highly recommend that you make reservations early because even in a pandemic, this place fills up quickly!
We love this restaurant and go whenever we stay at the Homestead. We love it so much, in fact, that we had our rehearsal dinner there in 2019. We decided to have our anniversary dinner there, and the food was just as good as we remembered. Our server, however, must have been new because she was unfamiliar with anything in the menu and had a difficult time serving us. We will go back, and we will hope she has more knowledge next time!
Small restaurant, especially with Covid-19 table restrictions. However, the food was excellent. We had the Veal, and it was the most tender we have ever had, The bread plate was worth the small charge, and the P.I. mussels were great, In fact, using the toasted bread to soak up the mussel broth made the bread plate unnecessary. A nice Creme Brulee with fresh berries finished of a nice meal. Much better than the meals at the Omni Homestead Resort, which is suffering from Covid-19 low occupancy and limited menu selections. Make reservations!
Excellent dining experience. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Our server was attentive and well informed. A pleasant evening. Will return!
Great Food, great service, lovely vacation experience.
The food and service was outstanding. First visit but hopefully not the last.
Every thing was delicious. spectacular veal; incredible trout. fabulous desserts.
A wonderful dining experience regardless of the current situation we are all in.
