Les Cochon d'Or
Highly recommend over the options in the Homestead if you are staying there. The restaurant is in Hot Springs village which is directly behind the resort.
Always great food and service at Les Cochon d'Or. However, this time experience was marred by noisy/unruly children at adjacent table.
Delicious food and quaint atmosphere. Pricey, but worth it!
our dinner at Les Cochons was excellent, I started with the fennel soup, delicious, light but creamy and flavorful, and then the lamb and harissa dish, perfection, my daughter had the mussels and raved, and also the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing which was dressed at the table for a more creative experience, she loved that as well, I finished up with the caramel budino, which was just the right small size but lots of caramel flavorful, again with the same light touch..would highly recommend !!
Immediately struck by the service, manners and friendliness! The food was exceptional in all aspects and was accompanied by a professionally selected wine list of startling quality. We have traveled the world and are ecstatic about finding such world class cuisine and libation! An absolute must in Hot Springs!
We came here with a large group friends while staying at the Homestead. It was wonderful! The food was fantastic and the service exceptional. Everything was so unique and really surprised us for such a small spot in a tiny town! Really amazing!
Had dinner here a couple of years ago. Trout wa delicious. This year was disappointed. Lacked flavor.Salad wa on the small side lacking dressing. Dressing was arrange around the plate not mixed and not enough.
I don’t think I would return. Quite expensive to be disappointed.
Food was some of the best we have ever had! We loved the dining experience.
This is our go to restaurant in Hot Springs. The menu is unique and seasonal, often locally sourced ingredients.
The owners/ staff are very accommodating regarding group reservations and at times adjustments to make dinner available.
Wonderful wine list and service. Close knit space. The duck and onion soup were prefect. I gave 4 stars was because my wife's cut of lamb was very fatty and the menu was not what I would consider "French." But I will return next time we stay at the Homestead.
Good ambience. Pricey. Food experience ranges from delicious to just ok. A place you might really want to be a regular place to go for food and comfort. But it never feels really welcoming to us. Rather, it seems they are indifferent to whether we appear or not.
I visit Les Cochon every time I'm in the area. I always bring a guest to enjoy the food and treat them to a wonderful meal.
LCDO is an intimate dining alternative to the dining rooms of The Homestead. Over the years we've eaten there twice and both experiences were great. Highland Virginia fare with a French twist. Prices comparable to the dining rooms of The Homestead.
As always, a wonderful evening. Delicious food and marvelous wine list.
Very nice restaurant in quaint little town! Service and food was excellent!!
We arrived on time for our 7 o'clock reservation and were seated immediately in the choice window seat.
The service was prompt and very welcoming. I had an oyster appetizer which was described by the waiter as"having a parmesan sauce which enhances the flavor of the oysters". Unfortunately the oysters were so small as to be invisible and were thus unenhanceable. However the delicious lamb entre more than made up for the earlier effort. My wife's trout was enough for two to split but was otherwise unremarkable. The wine list has no bargins either by the glass or by the bottle. Overall a very nice experience and we will definitelly return.
Absolutely wonderful! A gem in the mountains. Can’t wait to return.
What a fabulous evening! As usual, Chef Kyle, Crystal and Chris, our server, took amazing care of us. I hope that you can make it to LCdO while they still have this menu. The Oyster Gratinee was delicious. The pork cheeks were scrumptious. The salmon on the menu when we visited was delectable. I always get the creme brulee for dessert because it's always fabulous. Crystal remembered that we had enjoyed an exquisite Malbec on our last visit and she shared that she still had a bottle! Made our night. Chris timed his service perfectly. We didn't feel rushed. We enjoyed each and every course. LCdO is hands-down one of our favorite restaurants.
FABULOUS dinner and great wine selections
We dined our with our three young children while staying at the Homestead resort. Our children are adventurous eaters and LCDO offered a nice change of pace from the resort’s dining options. They were very friendly and accommodating - we will definitely return!
Great meal and service!
Excellent service. Good menu with local ingredients. Pork shanks, duck and the smoked Manhattan.
I'll be dining at the Water Wheel in Warm Springs from now on. The food was good, but that's about it. Not a positive experience overall.
Two visits in one week!!! How much better can it get? We visited first with friends and then had our Valentines date there as well. Great food! Excellent service in a friendly atmosphere. Ashleigh - our server - is always welcoming and knowledgeable.
The PEI Mussels that we ordered on the first night were so good we had them again on the second visit. The French Onion Soup was hearty and absolutely delicious. The Strip Steak was also yummy - but the Special - Seared Scallops were truly amazing. Crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. If they are ever on the special menu and you enjoy scallops - you MUST order them. The champagne that Crystal recommended was excellent. Between Crystal's wine and spirits expertise and Kyle's kitchen creativity - you can't go wrong!
Can't wait until our next visit!
As lifelong residents of Hot Springs, we've eaten at every restaurant that has ever existed here, including the many options at The Homestead. We prefer Kyle's cooking to all that have gone before him. Crystal's guidance through her wine list has been educational and enjoyable. I leave it in her hands for each meal now, and I usually don't do that at other restaurants. Crystal insures that her wait staff are well trained and that makes a difference as well.
I sell real estate and recommend Les Cochon d'Or to all of my clients who seem to appreciate good food. The feedback from clients who have taken my recommendation has consistently been complimentary.
Excellent food and good value. Small and quaint. Would definately return.
This was our third visit. We make it a point to dine at Cochon d’Or whenever we are in the Hot Springs area. The staff is friendly and professional, and the food never disappoints.
Always a wonderful experience! The menu is creative and wine selection supherb.
We have eaten at Les Cochen D'or several times and it never disappoints. The food and beverages are delicious. The knowledge of wines is amazing. We will go back again on our next trip to Hot Springs, VA
The food here is amazing. A very welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Bath County!
You'd be hard-pressed to find a better dining experience than Les Cochons D'or in Bath County or just about anywhere. Innovative locally-sourced ingredients and an intriguing, thoughtful & diverse wine list make this cozy gem a stand-out. Chef Kyle and his top-tier sommelier wife & business-partner, Crystal, run a tight ship, and it shows. Service is knowledgeable and attentive. Don't miss the local trout - it's perfection! The warm spinach salad hit all the right notes on a chilly January evening. My only regret is that we didn't order a personal dozen of those bite-size cornbread-bacon muffins. Melt in your mouth goodness!
Fast, friendly, and polite service - sommelier was extremely knowledgeable.
Wonderful food, great wine list (50% off bottles on Wednesdays), and just a great place to eat. Sommelier is also fantastic.
What a treat! All of our food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. Wine was good and service was excellent. I only wish I lived closer to go more often!
We dined here 2 of our 3 nights in Hot Springs. Can’t wait to return. The short rib dinner was the best meal I have ever experienced.
The staff was wonderful. The food was even better.
Our second visit here was as outstanding as our first. Started with fresh briny oysters, and the sommelier’s champagne was a perfect fit. He had a luscious trout dish, I had the succulent duck. The meat fell off the leg bones, cooked to tender perfection with a rich, deeply flavorful jus. Perfection in a dinner.
The most amazing meal we’ve had beating some of the best restaurants in New York, Philly, DC, and LA. Wish we could have a restaurant like this closer to us.
Went for a NYE dinner with friends. The food was amazing... Better than just about everything you'll find up the hill in the resort.
I know we were kinda rowdy, sorry about that. The staff was great. Thank you guys for a great meal.
Food was delicious. The escargot was amazing. I recommend trying escargot and the pork tenderloin was also excellent. There is an extensive wine list. The sour dough bread was so good and is included with meals. Can’t wait to come back again.
