Upon arriving, my daughter in law and I were greeted with a "hello" but with ladies who were anything but friendly. We were seated and handed menus. Our waitress arrived and was very standoffish. This girl does not like her job and wants you to know that she is doing you a favor by serving you ! My DIL asked for a pomegranite martini and was told they didn't make those, so she had a blackberry martini which was delicious. I had wanted to order the PEI mussels but was told they didn't have those, it was just an online picture as an example of what they served. I ordered the Oysters instead. I have to say I did not care for them. My DIL ordered the chicken and her meal was very tasty. The chocolate gonache was tasty, but I felt this restaurant was very overpriced with a very limited menu. It is not a place I would go back too. The hostesses and the waitress need serious attitude adjustments and a smile and thank you would go a long way to improving the entire dining experience. Definitely not a place for children. Limited menu, rude service and over priced. I left the server a very nice tip despite the rude service.

Delicious food and warm, professional service. Allow Krystal to advise you on wines - I always learn something new from her. This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

As always, Les Cochon d’Or was outstanding! It is one of our favorite restaurants. Our party had the tile fish, trout and the small veal tenderloin. All choices were outstanding! The service is attentive without being oppressive. The wine selection is excellent. Les Cochon d’Or is a must if in Hot Springs, VA.

I ordered a medium steak and it came out rare. At no time did the wait staff ask me how my steak was. When I finally got the attention of one of the staff members and asked her to show what was left to the cook she did not return. I got the attention of the girl that brought my steak back to the cook and asked what happened she replied that the cook claims it was ordered medium rare and it was fine. I was very disappointed with our visit.

Creative menu choices. The oyster appetizer was excellent. The wreck fish and veal entrees were excellent.
We certainly will return on our next visit to Hot Springs. Best food in this tiny town!

Friends have always recommended Les Cochon d'Or and now I know why. The food is delicious and the menu has great options. We found they easily accommodated a gluten free diet and a vegetarian. We love staying at the Homestead and now are really happy to have a new restaurant just a short walk away from the resort. Everyone was friendly and great to talk with about exploring the area. Definitely worth a visit!

Second time there. Excellent food, friendly service, and a great alternative to the options at the Homestead. Definitely recommend the pork tenderloin. Baby spinach salad was sensational, and desert was excellent as well.
Their bread is also fantastic. Server said it was the chef's 100 year old family recipe. Will definitely be back again.

our dinner at Les Cochons was excellent, I started with the fennel soup, delicious, light but creamy and flavorful, and then the lamb and harissa dish, perfection, my daughter had the mussels and raved, and also the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing which was dressed at the table for a more creative experience, she loved that as well, I finished up with the caramel budino, which was just the right small size but lots of caramel flavorful, again with the same light touch..would highly recommend !!

Wonderful wine list and service. Close knit space. The duck and onion soup were prefect. I gave 4 stars was because my wife's cut of lamb was very fatty and the menu was not what I would consider "French." But I will return next time we stay at the Homestead.

Good ambience. Pricey. Food experience ranges from delicious to just ok. A place you might really want to be a regular place to go for food and comfort. But it never feels really welcoming to us. Rather, it seems they are indifferent to whether we appear or not.

LCDO is an intimate dining alternative to the dining rooms of The Homestead. Over the years we've eaten there twice and both experiences were great. Highland Virginia fare with a French twist. Prices comparable to the dining rooms of The Homestead.

We arrived on time for our 7 o'clock reservation and were seated immediately in the choice window seat.
The service was prompt and very welcoming. I had an oyster appetizer which was described by the waiter as"having a parmesan sauce which enhances the flavor of the oysters". Unfortunately the oysters were so small as to be invisible and were thus unenhanceable. However the delicious lamb entre more than made up for the earlier effort. My wife's trout was enough for two to split but was otherwise unremarkable. The wine list has no bargins either by the glass or by the bottle. Overall a very nice experience and we will definitelly return.
