   We had a great experience with friends at Les Associes. Very good food and service in a cosy atmosphere. Really felt like being in a warm French bubble. The chef is a great character too! Would highly recommend.

   we were happy to be going again and to introduce Les Associes to out friends who loved it. A great place to go if you want good food and to enjoy conversation.

   Les Associes is a hidden gem - a genuine traditional French bistro with no fripperies and no trendy fuss. The menu is short and full of delicious treats, the wine list is also short but has some very nice choices. Everything is reasonably priced. The chef-patron cooks it all for you. The big plus is that it retains the ambience of a typical family-run Montmatre brasserie of the '70s or '80s before the ghastly wide boys and the chains messed everything up. The only downside is the rather unexciting vegetarian option (but of course this is just what one might expect from many a Parisian bistro!!) The second big plus is no background music so patrons can not only enjoy a good meal but also have a conversation without having to yell over the sound system. Go and enjoy this rare gastronomic survival tucked away off the beaten track in a residential street in Crouch End. I recently had a big party here and everyone though Les Associes a restaurant to be treasured.
