The selection of oysters were nice and very tasty!! Server was very helpful with selection.
Loved it. Great raw oysters. Did not like the cooked oysters as much. Would highly recommend the trout or habbachi appetizers.
Excellent!!! We tried 5 different oysters. We enjoy coming here and trying different things every time
Service was great but didn't think the food was worth the price.
Fantastic vibe and great service!
Interesting variety. The Oysters Carbonara were divine.
Super fun decor and friendly atmosphere with excellent menu choices. We liked the middle room best.
I wasn’t impressed at all. I had high hopes because the eater 38 list has never let me down in the past. Decor and vibe is pretty bad. The restaurant space itself is very disjointed. Server was moderately friendly. I ended up only ordering a few oysters and a glass of wine and decided to close out and go next door to wayfare tavern (delicious). The oysters weren’t even cold. The shrimp were of equal quality to what you would find in a party pack at Ralph’s. Maybe it’s just me but I wasn’t a fan.
Amazing oysters - fresh and a great selection! Great, cozy spot!
Cool spot. Good food but pricey - spent 180 on lunch for two. Service a little slow.
Disappointing. Dark and creepy feeling. Small pours of wine and food just okay yet very pricey.
Leo's staff and food are always at the top of their game. Don't bother ordering just one deviled egg with fried oyster - you'll want at least 3.
My boyfriend and I stopped in last minute for a late dinner with drinks. They had big smiles right as we walked in the door and sat us even without a reservation. The staff was extremely hospitable and couldn't be friendlier! They made amazing recommendations, favorites being the lobster and crab cake, the little gem salad, and especially the amazing lobster roll! I live for lobster and butter, and man do they do it right! Oysters were incredibly fresh. So much so we ordered another dozen after we finished the first. Cocktails were lovely and they even accommodated my two friends coming in to join us. Overall a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved I️t! Want to come back and hopefully get some New Zealand oysters!
The service was outstanding and the ambiance was delightful. The chef knows how to prepare seafood in a way that compliments it's true flavors.
Wonderful service with creative food and cocktails! Maybe a little pricey for everyday dining, but ideal for special occasions and/or entertaining out of town guests. Highly recommended.
We arrived a few minutes early, but had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. Although not a major delay, the hostess was especially cordial and apologetic. Further, she brought two glasses of complimentary wine considering the relatively short wait time. The food is excellent and creative. The warm oysters were unusual but delicious. The main room is noisy, but our seating in a rear room was not.
It was very cozy and and vibrant atmosphere, the servers were very helpful and attentive. Drinks were different but so good. Food was amazing.
Great would go again
What a great place! Incredible decor and atmosphere to go with the outstanding food and amazing service (thanks David;))))
As always, we love Leo's! Everyone is kind, energetic and attentive and what a delightful surprise when they brought us champagne when they learned we were celebrating a birthday!
Leo’s could be better if it was not so expensive and noisy. It should not be a loud bar where there is a lot of drinking and then the food is sparse ... never had such small portions for crazy prices. I mean if you are going to have caviar it should be in a quiet space where you can hear each other enjoy the flavors. But if it works for some people that’s great! Just not for me. Need more food - I was still hungry after we left! a meal should not cost $200 for three people in a noisy bar! We could have went fancy restaurant for how much we paid!
Wonderful cuisine, friendly service, spectacular decor...all completely overshadowed by the DEBIlITATiNG NOISE LEVEL where each table is screaming to be heard only to exacerbate the problem. Until this is addressed I would never return and advise others against it. Such a shame since it really is pretty special place.
Lively San Francisco Financial District spot with a great oyster selection and other good seafood (and non-seafood) menu items. Very good service for such a busy place. Quite noisy but good for young professionals to congregate.
Thank you to everyone at Leo's! You made my husbands birthday absolutely perfect. Even as a large group we all felt like we got the best service. Food and drinks were incredible. Service was impeccable.
Not impressed at all, ordered the himachi and the tuna. the Himachi had slices of old, brown avocado under it. Maybe they thought we wouldn't notice since it was under the fish. It appeared that this dish must have been pre prepared and not freshly prepared. We will not be returning, especially since the food quality is very poor and because there are so many amazing places in the city that serve delicious, fresh himachi like bar crudo.
Still one of top favorite go to restaurants in SF financial district. Love the atmosphere and the food!
Awesome “Old School”. Place. Highly recommend
Excellent atmosphere. Food is pricey for portions (oysters are most expensive I have seen for basic choices). That being said, it was the most wonderful hamachi I have ever had... so take that into consideration. Very quaint and nostalgic.
Quaint, but very noisy and crowded. We chose some of the cooked oyster preparations and the salmon tartare. Both average at best. Nice service and servers. Nothing special here in a town with so many special places. That's why we don't recommend it. If in Omaha, we would. Very expensive, too.
Usually when I come here, its for a business lunch, and reserve a table ahead of time. This time we were seated in the back room which was nice, because its warmer back there. The front room can get very cold with the door opening. We were the first group seated, and was very pleasant, but by the later half of the meal, the dining room was full and uncomfortably loud. Half our table (of 5) gave up trying to listen to the group conversation. Anyway, the food is great here, overall ambiance and service are consistently on par. Hope they can look into some acoustic control for the future!
Overall awesome experience! The vibe felt like Mad Men meets Miami. The floral wallpaper and gold flourishes set the scene for a great night. We had the deviled eggs with fried oyster, a selection of oysters, lobster roll (worth the $34), and salmon (which was cooked perfectly).
We enjoyed oysters, a combination louie, a lobster roll, cocktails and wine. I only wished there was sour dough french bread to enjoy with my salad. The staff was friendly, and the small restaurant had a pretty tropical ambiance.
I came here with little expectation and a casual business lunch. I left with a new place on my short list to bring my wife on date nights. Best oyster I've had in quite some time.
We always enjoy this place. Great atmosphere and food! Creative menu. Oysters are wonderful!
The Hideaway at Leo's is hands down the prettiest dining room in the city. The food was good and the cocktails were outstanding. Our server was a bit prickly but the rest of the support staff was great. I don't think I've ever had a water glass refilled so many times.
Food was excellent... and prices reflected that. Worth it... just know what you're getting into; a glass of bubbles is $16-23 per glass. Portions are fairly small but delicious. We shared oysters, the smoked trout w/ salmon roe dip, and the shrimp bacon sandwich -Wh/ IMO should have been served on a brioche bun to prevent all the tiny shrimp pieces from falling out (a la the lobster rolls at Woodhouse Fish Co)
It was not advertised on open table or the website for the restaurant that there was a 175 dollar pre dice menu. The first two courses were amazing and it went downhill from there. Lobster course was meager and the flavors we not complimentary, halibut course was under seasoned, and the beef course was cold and lack luster. Service was great and everything else was good. But for a 500 dollar dinner bill a lot more was expected.
First time here, and it won't be the last. Can't wait to return and try additional items on the menu.
We had lots of oysters, a few hot plates, and then clams/frites, followed by the lobster roll.
All were very well-prepared, fresh, and delivered by friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff.
Terrific, clubby atmosphere, too -- very romantic.
Lobster roll was the best ever! Bit expensive.
