Leonora Ratings and Reviews
Very slow service! The wait staff didn’t check on us and were slow to respond to requests. It was 1.5 hour for tapas and salad. The table next to us left before ordering because it took so long. A shame because the food was good but we didn’t make it to entrees.
It’s not a very large place so make your reservation early. Easy to vallet the car at the hotel (which is very upscale and friendly staff). Menu is very diverse and the food was wonderfully prepared. The service staff was very attentive to us in regards to refills and making sure we had everything we needed. The salmon and steak were superb and the sides are big enough to share for 2.
Save room for one of their great deserts too! We got 4 for 8 people and just sampled around the take!!
Lastly, the hotel and just outside gave some very good options for pictures. We were there just after Christmas but I would imagine that this is the case anytime. Enjoy!
Waiter was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Food was very tasty, great to share or have your own main. Definitely recommend sharing so you can try various menu items, Brussels sprouts, shrimp al ajillo, manchego potato gratin and especially the shrimp ceviche all very good. The spinach salad had perfectly poached and flavored pears which was a nice balance to the blue cheese. It was pretty busy, but our waiter never missed a beat. We will be back!
Bottomless drinks for $24 that you can mix and match! Aka you can have bloody Marys, mimosas, bellinis, plain champs, and rose all for that price. I’ve never come across a place that doesn’t make you choose one or the other! The food was good too, and make sure you save room for dessert!
We went for breakfast - normally love the Belgian waffle with berry compote, but the side had been changed to Nutella. Not a fan. Tried the Eggs Benedict instead - would say that they were good, but have had better. Still, will return for breakfast in the future.
The food is rather good. Personally, I think they could really provide better portions. We ordered 4 entrees, one large plate, and only 4 drinks, and had a bill of $240. OK, it's Vail, and yes, it's a nice place. But for entree priced items, they should provide a bigger portion. Sorry, but 3 scallops for $34 is a bit over the top - at least provide 4 or 5 scallops.
The service was excellent, we had a large group and showed up with two extra people. The restaurant easily accommodated us. The appetizers were good but expensive. I had the short rib for dinner that was very expensive. It was very bland and over cooked. It came highly recommended from the waiter. The wine and the cocktails were good. There are amazing restaurants in Vail and even though the service was good I will not be going back for the high priced and bland food
Very disappointed from last years great food. They sent me all these updates all year round which was effective to get us to come back and we did with high expectations which were not even close. My bison was not cooked properly & was sent back to cook more. Their wine list was weak and overpriced. The Brussels sprouts were over cooked in too much oil & salt. Very noisy so we could hear each other.
We made a reservation here for our first night in Vail after a very early morning flight and a long day of traveling. When we got to the restaurant, we were the only diners, but we were hungry so we went in. Upon being greeted by our waitress, she joked/insulted us for dining so early (it was 5:30 local time, 6:30 our home time) and actually called us grandparents (we are in our 30's). We ordered a salad to start and it was over dressed and bland. We ordered a pear and prosciutto pizza to split and that was good.
All in all, we had a better meal the following night at the four seasons which we were staying at and the staff was much more professional. We go to Vail every year and I doubt we will ever consider this restaurant again.
Had high hopes but was completely disappointed. The service was incredibly slow. And very unknowledgeable. The food was over cooked. My husband had the braised short ribs and it was as dry as it could be. It was noticeable the second the plate was set down. I had the scallops which were also well over cooked. I received 3 scallops and nothing else, all for $34. Not worth it all. We really wanted to like this restaurant but fell short. Oh and it's also classified as a Tapas restaurant. Not so much. The 7 options don't really classify it to be a tapas restaurant. Save your money and try something else.
We both enjoyed our pear salad. My husband had lobster flat bread. He couldn't find anyone to bring him parm cheese, and it got cold by the time he did. My ceviche was exceptionable. The waitress was friendly, and had way too many tables and therefore the poor service.
We dined at many restaurants during our visit to Vail, and Leonora was the absolute best. Service was fantastic and the food was superb! We had a bottle of wine and a selection of tapas. If it wasn't our last evening in Vail we would have dined there again.
Leonara was the highlight of our dining in Vail. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. They have an impressive wine list that we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a large group and they did a fantastic job taking care of our table. As some of the other reviews mentioned, it's located inside the Sebastian Hotel. The hotel offered free parking for 2 hours with our dinner reservation.
Inside the Sebastian - simply beautiful decor. Very warm ambiance. The short rib with risotto was delicious. My sister has the salmon with white beans that she raved about. Our pear and beet salads were also excellent.
I'll be sure to stop back again on next years ski trip.
Beautiful restaurant in a magnificent hotel. We received over the top service, excellent food, space between tables that makes it a private dining experience. Just loved it. A gem .. hope more diners try this out. A very special dining experience centrally located in vail village.
We ordered three of the Tapas dishes to share. The octopus, the brussel sprouts and the mussels. All were delicious. The mussels had the added flavor of chorizo. The octopus was served with mashed potatoes. It made a great combination. We then ordered the duck, the bass and the pear salad. All were excellent. The chef is from Chili and the South American flavors shine through!! Very enjoyable evening.
Headline would be get the Short Rib. First off I'll say it's located in the Sebastian Hotel, this was not very evident in their listing on Open Table, and the map wasn't super precise. Decor is very upscale and modern. Service was only 3 stars because they mixed up the order of presentation. My main course was delivered about 5 minutes after everyone had already received theirs. The staff though was very nice and attentive. The food was fantastic. Tomato bisque was spot on. Flatbreads were "better than Epcot" per my 12 y/o and my wife agreed. My 16 y/o daughters chicken and gnocchi was perfect. Which leaves my Short Rib. Probably the best preparation I've had. The Sous Chef was nice enough to come out and talk to me about the preparation. Sous Vide followed by cast iron sear that gave perfect doneness with a beautiful crispy crust. I thought the price of the meal considering the decor, staff, and food was a very good deal for Vail.
