When it comes to playful sophistication, restaurant Leonora is a staple. Named for Leonora Carrington, a famous Mexican surrealist painter and novelist, this hidden gem honors her legacy with edible works of art composed of fresh, organic and locally-sourced ingredients.

Leonora offers an inviting dining experience inspired by the French Alps, Spanish Pyrenees, and our own Colorado Rockies. The menu is designed as a tapas experience, one where diners embark with shareable small plates, pintxos and cheese & charcuterie before progressing to larger plates which revere alpine flavors including Colorado lamb pops, local steaks and more. For a traditional dish with a Vail flair, try Chef Tyson's fried chicken with barrel-aged Fresno hot sauce. Flavorful dishes are simply prepared and thoughtfully paired with wines from around the world.

Amazing small plates and soldi guidance for a perfect meal from our server. Three separate employees (Server, Bartender and Host) recommended the Brussel Sprouts and Paella and they were not wrong! We almost ordered a second order of the Brussel Sprouts, they were prepared better than anywhere else I have been. The seafood was also excellent. My wife is celiac and has to eat Gluten Free ad they did a great job accommodating for her. Great environment and pricing was on par with the value of the meal.

We ate in the outdoor tent they have set up. It was a lovely setting, very fun and very unique. The waitstaff was outstanding--friendly, helpful, fun, respectful, eager to make sure we had a good experience. The menu was unique, and the food very good. We really enjoyed the experience and will return.

Food was amazing and the kitchen accommodated a custom request. Service was slow and appeared disinterested. Slow with coffee and smoothies prior to delivery of the meal. Sat for 20+ minutes with no coffee or drinks.

The food was absolutely amazing! Our top picks were the guacamole poke, papas y aoli, fried chicken, bacon biscuits, and brussel sprouts. Our service was very good the first half of the meal, but became super slow by the end of it. Our waitress would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time so we skipped dessert and tried to get out of there. We sat outdoor on the patio in February. It was in an enclosed tent with warmers, we were all comfortable the entire meal!

Fantastic food, drinks/cocktails, and service! We were visiting from Texas and seated in a heated, outdoor tent with soft lighting and plenty of distance among tables. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, full of recommendations, and our plates were all unique and delicious. Would highly recommend the, “Sebastian Spritz” cocktail and the, “Expresso Banana Petit Gateau” for dessert!

Our server in the tent for dinner was fantastic. I forgot his name but he’s a very tall handsome young man who isn’t skiing the rest of the season due to back injuries. He was the right blend of informative, cool, and laid back. We truly enjoyed the outstanding food and ambiance of the tent.

Had a reservation for 7pm, but was told e would have to wait 30 minutes for our table, but could buy cocktails and sit in the lounge while we waited. We waited. Got cocktails and waited. Got a table 30 minutes later, but not the one we were promised. Ordered bread while we waited to give our entree choices. 30 minutes later...no bread. Finally got our food at some point. Exhausted and hungry. Never go here. Service is terrible. Portions are diminutive. Management acts like little mice scurrying around. Don’t waste your time or money.

Awful, the food was not that good for the price we payed. The food had a good presentation but the flavor was plain. And the service was very poor, the girl forgot one item of our order and were waiting for around 30 min for that item alone after we finished with the 1st two, so when it got to us we were not even hungry anymore. .... don’t dine here.

Terrible A/C draft at table , we were given blankets to wrap in.
Lamb chops came out cold, sent back to room temp. Accompaniment was COLD and not What was listed on menu.

Enjoyed our meal in the outdoor tent. Exceptional service and delicious food. Indoors looked pleasant as we ordered a drink at the bar. Recommend the lamb and hummus. Priced very reasonable for the area.

Subpar service, portions of food were small, overpriced and our elk came out literally raw. Waitress dropped off the check when our entrees came out giving the feeling of being at a diner and kept coming back to see if we were ready to pay when we didn’t even order dessert. The trophy of this goes to Leonora telling Open Table that we missed our reservation after spending $250! We’ll never go back and probably should have given this place an even lower score

To say the food was outstanding was an understatement. I brought my 3 year old toddler as my date and they were more than accommodating, and her cheese pizza was fantastic. I had two cocktails and a ton of food and spent $200. Worth every penny. The paella was good but not my favorite. The Brussels sprouts, poblano bacon biscuits, beet salad, elk and wagyu steak were all top notch. The turkey green chili was amazing I could’ve had ten bowls. The Valoma cocktail was unexpectedly great, as I don’t like grapefruit but it’s not overtly flavored that way. Get the campfire cocktail. Soak the marshmallow for about 5 minutes then eat it. Mind blown. The banana desert was good but unnecessary as a culmination to a meal as we were already so full from a great dinner. Will definitely come back on our next Vail trip.

Birthday Very nice dinner in Vail. Every time I come here I enjoy it. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious. The wine list was good. Our dinner was also very good, pear cherry salad, biscuits, fried chicken and brussel sprouts. Our server was very friendly as well

Favorite spot we dined in Vail. Service was excellent! We tried six different dishes, everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend. They also did a great job of distancing all of the tables and complying with covid restrictions.

Made a reservation online and called to confirm indoor seating. Was sat in a tent outside. Very disappointed.

I'm sorry that the seating arrangements were not what you expected. With the way Covid restrictions are, and the way our tables work, we have to move guests around to make sure that we do not go above our restrictions. We can only put our larger parties of 5 or more guests in the main dining room, and when we fill up with larger parties, we move smaller parties out to the tent or the atrium. The tent is considered an indoor dining area as well. Thank you.
