First of all: I am often very unsatisfied with restaurants in the area, BUT Lento was a wonderful exception, I felt the entrees were inventive and the food was delicious. I celebrated my birthday there and can't wait to return.
The service and food were excellent. The restaurant is rather loud for my taste. It was overall a very enjoyable experience.
The food was amazing, every dish everyone had in our party was excellent.
To my surprise it was $1 oyster night. Very good. Our entrees were delicious. Would highly recommend Lento.
I enjoyed the oysters, but was surprised at the quinoa fritters only having 3 as it was under sharing plates. I’d suggest at least 4.
The food was ok, just kind of bland. Was hoping for something with more flavor.
Great food. The dessert was a bit small for the cost.
The salads and appetizers were great. The trout had too much butter sauce for our taste. The lemon tart was excellent.
Service spotty at best. Oysters great especially variety. Starters rather odd in nature. Main course dishes expensive for ingredients. Gnocchi was so tiny couldn’t see most of them mixed with the vegetables and for $25, definitely overpriced. Roasted Carrot salad overpriced also. Cocktails decent and creative I guess.
My take, oysters and cocktails only.
Go elsewhere for your dinner.
We have been to Lento for dinner many times but this was our first Brunch. It was great!
The food here is getting better all the time. Creative dishes, fresh ingredients, deliciously prepared.
The place was packed when we showed up with a reservation Saturday night. Service with Abby our server was remarkably good given how busy they were. It is a great place to take a date!
Was ok food good really small portions it was just ok
Delicious food, great service!!
Our service was excellent. We shared several small dishes and everything was delicious. We will be back again.
Was very unimpressed with the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The menu said Cajun and it wasn't. The chicken had very little flavor to it and I was nervous about eating some of the meat, as it appeared pink. I also didn't get any pickles. The meal was not worth $15. My friend ordered the croque monsieur and didn't have much flavor/kick. She added some of the sriracha sauce and it was too hot. Another friend ordered the Benedict and was not thrilled with her meal either. The only one that enjoyed her meal was the one that ordered just a waffle. Very disappointing.
Glad they serve brunch now! Food always excellent here. Some traditional breakfast items all with a unique twist. My friend opted for the fish platter which was a starter but she had it as her entree , although it would be a great plate to share too. I had the hash and eggs, all was great.
Very good restaurant. We have been to Lento several times and the food was always fantastic. Our last trip for brunch was very good, but the menu this time wasn't quite as good as before - a few items we love were missing this trip. However, overall this is a fantastic restaurant.
Everything about our dining experience was excellent, from the bread served at the beginning to coffee and dessert at the end. Our server, Shannon, was wonderful - friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The other people who kept our water glasses filled, brought food to the table, etc. were also great - attentive but not intrusive. Th only item I gave 3 stars to , instead of 5, was the value - I thought some of the items we ordered were quite expensive for the quantity served - although, again, the quality was excellent
We've eaten at Lento several times, and this was a first miss with me as far as food goes. While my husband loved his duck confit, my sole was very disappointing. The sole, crab stuffing, and risotto kind of all melded together and I couldn't really discern where the fish was. It pretty much tasted like a stuffing casserole. I ate less than half of it, but the server did not seem to notice as she made no comment as she took my plate away. The chilled lobster was delicious and the staff was friendly and accommodating, other than the aforementioned issue. We would definitely dine here again, as it has always been one of our favorite places, and every restaurant is entitled to a miss now and then.
We arrived and were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. We went for the dollar oyster night. We were told they had two kinds of oysters left by the hostess. By the time our waitress came over to us 20 minutes later they had just run out of oysters. We order drinks and then it took another 10 minutes before the waitress came back. They brought us bread after we had our meal and then they finally had oysters again by the end but those too we're at the end of the meal. The food portions were very small for the 80.00 we spent.
We waiting over an hour and a half for our food. Erika waiting to drink her mimosa until the food arrived, so it was warm. Due to the long wait, the waitress spoke to the manager, who comped our food. When I finally arrived, the chicken and waffles were hot and the three eggs Benedict were cold. The lamb bacon was tasty. The beignet were good. My family was not happy about waiting until 2 to get the food and then it being cold. The manager was apologetic and the comped food was appreciated, but we won't be back.
I think Lento's cuisine is really special - an emphasis on local ingredients, always creative, always delicious. And yet the atmosphere isn't pretentious at all - the servers are immensely friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us multiple samples of wine to direct our choice and were totally accommodating of my 3 year old daughter and her shenanigans!
Another fabulous pre-theatre dinner at Lento! Although we tried to resist dessert - they were all so tempting (and perfectly sized) that we ended up with 3 desserts for 2 people as we could not decide.
We went to Lento for our anniversary. We arrived shortly after they opened and I believe were the first table to be seated that day. Great Thursday and their happy hour was $5 select cocktails. The lavender aviation was my favorite. Highly, highly recommend their sourdough bread starter. The apple thyme butter was DELIGHTFUL. Entrees were delicious as well. A great experience and we will return when in Rochester again.
Very good food, nice atmosphere and an excellent wine list! The menu has a remarkable variety of options for vegetarian. I believe that the selection of high quality ingredients makes the difference and gives the restaurant the advantage to propose particular dishes. Cocktails are excellent too.
Service is always great and the food is exceptional. Our server went out of her way to ensure the bartender could make a cocktail that was no longer on the menu. I have been here several times and it’s one of the few upperscale restaurants in Rochester that never disappoints!
Loved the vegan winter veggie curry dish. Everyone was happy with their meals.
Explaination of our entrees from our waitress was appt on.
Great drink specials (before 6pm).
Service was superb.
Went on a Thursday night with a group of 6 friends, some with special dietary restrictions. Server was knowledgeable and attentive, food was great. Oysters were exceptional, loved the farm to table and local options.
Loved the dollar oyster night.
As always Lento did not disappoint - the whole experience from beginning with a cocktail at the bar to the best chocolate mousse for dessert was perfect!
My girlfriend and I both thought that the food and service were very, very good, with one glaring exception: we ordered a glass of wine each, and thought the serving size was very small. I didn't expect a vat of wine, but certainly a reasonable serving would have been appreciated. Otherwise it was a dependably good experience. We have only been there 3 or 4 times, but have enjoyed it every time.
They need a new chef. The ambiance, the location is awesome. The food not so much.
Valentine’s Day plus anniversary, asked for quiet private table we got that. Service was knowledgeable prompt and friendly
Went for a date here. I had a Salmon entree that was delicious. The entire dish was super fresh and put together very well. It hit home for flavor-town. Girlfriend had a Duck entree and though she enjoyed the sides, the Duck was served cold. It was obvious that her dish was completed first and was sitting idle while my entree was completed. Which is a bit upsetting considering it was just the two of us and both entrees were just over $30 each. That's where it lost some of the "value" for me. The bread was delicious, the appetizers were great as well. Overall the staff was great, but our server was boring and seemed in a hurry to be elsewhere (it wasn't busy, our reservation was later in the night). Honestly I would go there again, but I've been to similar places where it hit home for me in all categories so I can't justify 5 stars. :)
I really wanted to like Lento more than I did. The local farm-to-table concept is promising, the art on the walls was nice, and our server was lovely, but the execution wasn't quite there. We started with the fresh bread and dips- they gave us a tiny amount of the hummus (and probably 4-5 x as much butter), and the white bean garlic dip tasted really off- the complementary bread and olive oil other tables had looked much more appealing. My partner was disappointed by how salty the oysters were. I ordered the pork, which was super fatty and not all that flavorful- I made it through maybe 1/4 of the meat and packed up the rest to give to our dog. My partner's vegan curry was decent, but for the prices we were expected much better. The chocolate mousse was delicious though! All in all, a very expensive dinner for very mediocre food.
We had a great Valentine’s Day dinner.
The food was really bad. Atmosphere and service were ok. Quite pricey. Would not recommend mainly due to poor food quality
The food and service were outstanding. The duck confit was excellent, and the spaetzle and side vegetables were amazing. The service was non-intrusive and very efficient.
