Valentine's Day - special prix fixe menu with cheese plate, starters, mains (choices: lamb, steak/crab cacke, ravioli, snapper); limited but suitably tasteful moderately priced wine selection. Food preparation and presentation just right for a special occasion, and attentive, professional service.

A great first experience. Love how accommodating the staff was.
I love this restaurant, the value is great for DC, the food is pretty good and it's perfect for a romantic night out. You'll have a bit of a wait, which is expected due to the freshness of the food.
Very disappointed! The server had no idea how to check in someone with an open table reservation and we have not received points on open table. The server was horrible. Could care less if he was there. Felt like we did not even have a server. Food was way overcooked. A medium burger came out as a extremely well done burger. A total waste of an evening and money. Would never recommend this place to anyone!
Got the Gilt City voucher for a bottle of wine, appetizer, two entrees, and a desert for myself and the girlfriend. The food was not great. The cheese board app we got was mostly bread and a little cheese, the mains were ok but not great, and the creme brulee desert didn't have a caramelized top. Wine made my girlfriend a little sick and I thought it was fine but not great. The waiter was really nice and accommodating, he even looked like he felt sorry as he knew what we were getting into... Nice ambience and I hear their party brunch is a must do in DC.
My friend and I ate here before heading out for drinks. The place was really quiet for a Friday night, but was fine with us. We sat outside and enjoyed being able to people watch and relax. The waiter was great (don't recall his name), but really friendly, accommodating, and the food came out quickly. We tried the: Heirloom tomato salad (good, but not enough heirloom tomatoes! Mostly arugula and would have liked more tomatoes), Pommes frites (nice and crispy, loved the dipping sauces); Cheese plate (we mistakenly didn't tell the waiter we hated bleu cheese, but they were accommodating and switched it out for feta), Duck confit (very good... the leg was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and the mashed potatoes were tasty). Enjoyed the meal!
We hadn't been for a while and there are new items on the menu that were delicious. I dont remember our server's name but he went out of his to make it a fun evening.
This place is affordable with a good bar and great service. Ask for Kevin!
The spare rib and jalapeño grits were excellent. The crab cake sliders sadly fell short as mushy and a bit bland.
We'll be back to try the duck.
Very disappointing. Serviceverymediocre, food avg.
Gilt City coupon - 4 for dinner - value for excellent......wait person JAM was a real gem. Kitchen was busy and food was a tad slow.....The food was delicious - well worth the wait.
The duck crepe was outstanding. The music was a little loud for such a small dining space, but overall we enjoyed our experience. Would definitely recommend it.
Loved this place. Can't believe this was my first time - passed by for years. Thank you for the amazing food and great service.
Although the food is still good, the menu has been become almost completely un-French.
Valentine's dinner experience was wonderful and the food was delicious. As good as any of the pricier places I've been.
Sat at the bar. Food was good and there was a good amount of it. I was full from the "appetizer" lamb lollipops! The couple next to me bad the charcuterie and had enough to share!
The host and waiters are SO warm and efficient.
It was difficult to leave, since the dinner area was slowly changing into a dance floor!
We had a late dinner here on a Wednesday night. The outside seating was great. Service was attentive. We had mussles, flatbread, and burgers. Everyone enjoyed the meal.
I've eaten at L'Enfant many times over the past ten years and the food has been fairly good. However, I was disappointed recently to see that they've changed their menu a bit so you're paying the same amount for less food/quality. The outdoor dining space is the main attraction. Go for some drinks and an appetizer if you're starving—skip the $16 bland crepes.
Lots of outdoor seating, but in winter, limited indoor seating. Dark, so bring your flashlight to read the menu. Food is very good, order the savory crapes. Been several times, really like the place. Very cozy and friendly.
We had a blast here and drank some great beers and had some really wonderful food
The food is disappointing. The service is okay. Might be alright to have a drink outside when the weather permits.
Very hip location. More of a summer destination than a winter. Felt cold. Smallness of restaurant made for a cramped feel, even for a party of 4. Definitely a destination for younger crowd. Very welcoming wait staff. Entree and deserts were very disappointing. Appreciated experience but not returning.
Previously I was just here to drink great Belgian beers in the outdoor patio and loved it. So the other night 3 of us tried the food menu and had dinner. Very nice, interesting bistro style entrees. Not fancy. I'll be back. Between 4-5 stars for Bistro-Bar
La Boum was amazing! Our server, Yacoumb was extra attentive and truly made it a great experience. My friends and I loved every bit of it :)
We went for the La Boum brunch experience and it was everything I expected and more. The food was awesome. We had so much fun dancing on our chairs and being crazy. I will say be prepared to drop some cash, but honestly it was worth every penny to see all my friends have the time of their lives. Just make sure to PACE YOURSELVES. It's easy to go overboard here so try to keep a good head on your shoulders. It's definitely meant for special occasions, but I personally can't wait for my next excuse to go again.
My husband and I took a friend to L'Enfant for a birthday celebration. The fact that the weather cooperated made the evening more delightful, as we were able to sit outside. The lady serving us was very pleasant and amenable to putting tables together to accommodate us. The wine list was varied, and my husband especially enjoyed the Belgian beer. The meals were very tasty and mercifully not over-large. This left us with just enough room to enjoy the lovely dessert crepes after. This little bistro is a gem, and as neighborhood denizens we look forward to returning many times again.
If you are in your early 20s and love clubbing and tabletop dancing, then definitely make a reservation for the La Boum brunch. You'll love it. If you prefer being able to hear your own thoughts, dining in a fire-safe environment, and are more of a foodie, you will hate it. I am an old fogie on the inside, so it just wasn't for me. The dancing was fun and the experience was entertaining, but I felt extremely claustrophobic crammed in a tiny space up against a wall with the front door locked. The music was so loud that I left with a migraine. The server can't hear you, let alone make it to your table through the dancing throngs, so inevitably orders were messed up and took a long time. Glad I went, but I won't be doing La Boum again.
L'Enfant was just okay for the five of us. The food was mostly mediocre--steak, gnocchi, pork, but the sole was the star of the evening. What amazed us most was the amount of time the bartender could spend on his phone texting, easily ignoring what was going on around him.
Two of us went to the L'Enfant Café for dinner on a weeknight. We sat on the patio, so my noise meter is for that space, not the inside. I had the bistro burger, he had the tuna Nicoise, and we were both very happy with our food. Shared a bottle of the house Sauvignon blanc, which was fine. What really made our experience stand out was the wonderful service. Other servers who want to improve their game should go here and observe.
