Veal Loin with Mango Chutney
Veal tenderloin pan seared to perfection with sea salt and Italian herbs, finished with fresh mango chutney and our own balsamic demi-glaze
I grew up in the burgh, however this was my first visit back in 8 years and my wife's very first visit into pittsburgh. LeMont was the highlight of our trip....the staff is extremely tentative to every need if their guest from our experience. The food was AMAZING I ordered the Veal loin my wife ordered the rack of lamb. Very quiet, clean, elegant restaurant overlooking the entire Pittsburgh skyline and point state park
Rack of lamb was delicious The View was amazing so has our server
It was a good dinner. I called weeks ago for 30th anniversary. Our seat was crappy.
Everything was amazing except the sea bass. I would of preferred it to be seasoned. It had no flavor. Outside of that dish, everything was amazing
We were returning to a visit to Pgh after both having living there many years before. We requested a window table and they honored our request. We were very pleased that such a fine restaurant still exists in this time of Covid pandemic! Thanks ❤️
Nice ambience, good views, friendly server and good (but nothing spectacular) food. For this type of restaurant, we expected a greeter but we stood in the foyer for several minutes before even bring acknowledged despite having reservations.
Made an 8pm reservation planning to eat a little later and not be pressured. We were a group of 6. Most of the food was outstanding. My compliments to the Chef. Marco, our Server, set the tone up-front he wasn’t there to engage, listen, inform etc.... The staff slammed our water on the table, as well as, the butter balls on the plates. The tone set in our opinion up-front was eat, drink and get-out. If that was the meal I was looking for I would have gone elsewhere. My husband made a kind comment checking to see if Marco was “having a harried day” and that helped to change the dynamic. The young man still rushed in, took away food and didn’t box etc., but we were able to enjoy our visit before my Son headed back out of state. Will we return? No. This has been the experience within different parts of the family over the past few months. Really nice food. The view is always beautiful on good weather days, but the Servers trying to rush you just doesn’t work for us.
For a restaurant that was supposed to be at 50 percent capacity, it was literally bursting at the seams in the main dining room. Two weddings to boot! Looked over 100 percent capacity to us! No way all those people were vaccinated. Wont be surprised if it’s a mini super spreader event. Would have walked out if we weren’t vaccinated. Servers and views were lovely. Food is highly overrated.
Fabulous food and wonderful service !!!
Fantastic! Will definitely go again. The service and food were outstanding.
It's been some time since I've visited the Lemont. The view and service were exceptional as always, the food and noise level not so much. You could barely hold a conversation with several large noisy groups. Didn't appear that social distancing guidelines or capacity limits were being followed. There are better restaurants in the Burgh for the price. The Lemont used to be upscale, plenty of jeans being worn.
The service was amazing but if you are paying 50 a plate I was expecting better quality food!
Great food and atmosphere. Would recommend this restaurant
We took friends from out of town to enjoy the food and the view. We had lamb chops, chilean sea bass, scallops and steak. So many lamb chops, we had to share and they were great. Sea bass melted in your mouth. The scallops had a topping that was too sweet, but the scallops were cooked perfectly.
We lucked out and had beautiful weather. What a view!
Great service, spectacular views ... sadly mediocre cuisine. The sauce on the duck was a noticeable positive
The service was outstanding. The restaurant was beautiful. The food was bland and the bread was hard as a rock.
Always enjoy our experience at the LeMont, but was disappointed with the sea bass that we ordered! It did not have that much flavor, and was not very warm when it arrived. Other than that, everything was excellent! Our waiter, Marco, was fab! Would definitely ask for him again!
Thanks, Terry Bandell
Everything was perfect in every way! The food was amazing, especially the tableside preparation.
This was my first time to this landmark restaurant and it was as good as it's reputation. The service was great, the food top notch and the views were spectacular. This is a great place to celebrate your special occasions!
Delightful evening. Live music, great wine, fantastic service, exceptional food. Life is good !
I like this place, price is so so and outside view is great. The food I recommend is chateaubriand steak with rare cook.
Great to get back out! Everything was wonderful! Service was great and friendly and fun!
Wonderful service... delicious meal.... lovely views of the city
It is always a relaxing and delicious experience
Our waiter was great snd the staff is very friendly
Of course the view is spectacular
I have never had a bad meal
Not impressed with the overall quality of the food. Bland tasting. Pumpkin cheesecake lacked flavor too. Based on the cost/value ratio, i would not recommend. Of course the view is magnificent & decor elegant. But there are numerous other restaurants on Mt. Washington to select from.
Staff was very friendly. View was incredible. Food was bland.
LaMont has a spectacular view of Pittsburgh which has the incline taking you up to a wonderful place where the price was worth the quality of food and service. My opinion had been that LaMont was an impressive, expensive restaurant for special occasions. HOWEVER
LaMont is the worse. True, it’s been years since I last ate there but there is absolutely no comparison.
Valentines Day -
My salad was cold - the plate was cold - they had been in the refrigerator and the lettuce was brown. They called it a Caesar salad. My wife had lobster Mac n cheese. It was VELVEETA and a salty tail. I had lamb - she had crab and lobster cakes for $40 as an entree -
Dining at LaMont resembled a diner when the food was presented.
BTW- nothing extra
No flowers on the table
No flowers to take home
The wine was inexpensive $85 for Willmette Valley Pinot Noir.
The bill $300
Food - F
Service - Joke
Ambiance - if it weren’t for Pittsburgh, well LaMont gets an F
My Fiance and I went to LeMont for Valentines day after we went for 1st time on our engagement in January. We loved it and wanted to come for Valentines Day. The food is awesome, staff are awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful. The valet is also very good.
My absolute favorite dining experience in Pittsburgh. Thank you LeMont.
This was me and my wife's first time out in months due to Covid and just having a baby a few moths ago. And the service was terrible and honestly quite embarrassing. I felt like we were the table none of the servers wanted as we looked too "young". Our server came to our table a total of three times. And as we watched the other servers take the dessert cart past all the other tables we were really looking forward to dessert. Well the server brought us a free piece of cake and said happy anniversary I kindly explained it was not our anniversary and he responded with "it's free". Well we took a bite or two and sat it aside waiting for the restaurant's desserts. Welp the server comes back after 30 mins and just drops off the bill and leaves never says thanks for coming in, no dessert cart, didn't even offer. We were never asked if we wanted another glass of wine, nothing. You are to treat all quests equally. The food was impeccable, but the service was completely unacceptable.
It was an amazing time, the waiters are very nice and are very quick with the food. Overall a great experience
Overall, it was an excellent experience. My only complaint is that my pasta was packed in a styrofoam box to take home and it became impossible to remove it from the box.
LeMont is a favorite for me and my wife...we had our first date there, got married there, and try to find an opportunity to go there whenever we get back in town. We had reservations the the night they closed in December and missed out, but rescheduled to the first week in Feb. The atmosphere and view is the best in Pittsburgh, and the service is old world and just perfect. This evening Tony was the Captain and Marco was our waiter and it felt like we were going home...they took such good care of us. The menu has a couple of new additions, but also retains the legacy dishes, and our observation was the food is even better now than ever. Don't miss the chance to dine here.
Took much wrong to discuss and type out
Wonderful experience, this is the best restaurant in Mt. Washington with a view of the city. I've gone to the other restaurants with the view and they do not compare with the quality and service.
Restaurant had an amazing view of Pittsburgh during the evening and ambience was great. We really loved our server, Stephanie who was always there for any need. But the food that we ordered were disappointing. Food tasted bland and unimaginative.
I loved my birthday dinner at the lemont. Our waiter was awesome and made the night special. I loved the live music and the energy all evening. Can’t wait to come back and visit again !
The Veal special for restaurant week was delicious and cooked to perfection. The special included a spumoni pecan ball that was incredible- not to sweet and coated so well with pecans. Our waiter was so professional and we liked that we were given time between meals to savor the previous course. The soft music being placed over the course of the evening added to the wonderful ambiance.
The ambiance of the place is fantastic however if you are craving a steak I would go to the other joints in Pittsburgh for steak. The food is good we did have to send our steaks back a couple times for them to get it right. Other than that it was a good experience
