Lemongrass Fusion Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Quick info: Vegan-friendly; Gluten-free friendly; Great service; Great food
As a party of 10 (with three children aged 1, 6, and 8) my daughter chose Lemongrass to celebrate her birthday. Our server, JORDAN, was personable and welcoming, he even engaged the kiddos. We were a difficult table with high demands (and messy children). But Jordan was incredibly accommodating, patient, and extremely attentive. We, however, were: asking a ton of questions; unorganized with no cohesive ordering; plus isolating our requests, imposing extraneous trips back and forth to the table. Nonetheless, our water was full; our drinks were served quickly; silverware was swapped before the next course, soup spoon was out WITH the soup; minimal table clutter; finally, our courses were perfectly timed. Our food was fantastic and exquisitely prepared. The birthday girl was delighted and we all ALL have a charming memory of this day! Thanks to Jordan and Lemongrass for making this a memorable dining experience for my birthday girl!
Overall, our evening at Lemongrass was extremely enjoyable. The food was great and the service was good. The only complaint was that the first table we were seated at was extremely cold, as it was right over a vent on the floor and next to a box fan. We were unable to cover the vent, so we had to move seats. The weather was cold outside, low 40s, so the fan and cold vent weren't necessary. Once we moved seats, the rest of the dinner was lovely.
Overall good and we will return, but not great. Not as busy as the other restaurants around it so easier to get a reservation a couple hours in advance. Seems that locals know that there are better choices overall, but none have Asian food/sushi. Server was very friendly but service was on the slow side. Again, pretty good overall, though. Definitely worth a try, just not my first choice in the Short North.
Waiter was fabulous and gave great recommendations like the salmon sashimi and crazy tuna roll. Crab Rangoon is huge! Ended up splitting the Pad Thai since we indulged on apps which was a wise decision and was best I've had since I can remember too. We felt well taken care of. My other dinner mates had the zucchini pasta and chicken salad- both looked amazing.
Let me start off by saying, the service and food were absolutely amazing. The presentation of our sushi was so impressive. However, I was upset about the table the host sat us at. It was tucked in a corner, in a very very crowded section. I felt frustrated because I had made reservations and this was a surprise date for my boyfriend, he loved it but kept bumping into the people behind him. I mentioned the table to our server (who was amazing) but there weren't any other tables to be sat at. When we were seated there were 3 other two top tables open, but by the time I could say something they were sat. At one table that was sat after us, was a very young couple in gym clothes, I was very discouraged and frustrated by that. With that said, the service and dinner absolutely blew me away. Nothing's ever perfect, we will definitely return, but hopefully never get stuck in that corner ever again!
Not what I expected...good sushi...asian on pasta...hmm....the Spicy Hawaiian Duck was very good...had it on rice noodles versus Angel hair....the spring rolls were just okay...service was good and the special on bottles of wine for $20 was cool...good selection of Asian food appropriate wine.
This was our first time to Lemongrass and finding a parking spot was horrible. We had a reservation for 5 and the noise level was so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk. Most of us tried the menu for restaurant week. We all found the appetizer selection fantastic. The Lemongrass soup was very good. The description said mixed vegetables and it was mostly mushrooms. Good thing we love mushrooms. 3 of us ordered the filet mignon and shrimp. We should have known better than to order steak at an Asian restaurant. We were pretty disappointed in the meal. The 4 oz steak was about 1/4 inch thick and flavorless. The skewered shrimp was ok nothing fancy. It definitely was not worth $200 after tip. We probably won't return for a 2nd try.
A pleasant surprise. I generally don't eat Asian food and really enjoyed my meal tonight. We came because of Restaurant week, I had the Seafood Basil and the only complaint I have is that it came with a ton of onions even though they weren't listed on the menu. I took them off and the rest was very good.
The anniversary dinner was very good. Very noisy restaurant but we were able to find a table in the back before it got more crowded. Not romantic, but we were able to have conversation.
Waiter was attentive and the meal went quickly. Not as relaxing as one would want for an anniversary dinner.
I would visit again, but not soon.
Not too impressed by this place. The sushi was tasty, but the other dishes were overpowered by a too sweet sauce and one shrimp I had tasted off. The appetizer of fried dumplings was incredibly meh and only two pieces. Not sure I would return here. Music was too loud to hear dining companions easily
