Lemon Mediterranean Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Not our first visit, but we keep bringing friends who have never been here. It's great to see their positive reactions. Service is always pleasant, and the staff knows the menu and can explain ingredients. Two big attractions: BYO and they take and honor reservations, even on weekends.
I have been to this restaurant before and always enjoyed my meals. However, they were unprepared for the New Year’s Eve crowd. Despite having a special prix fixe menu, there entrees in my party of six that were either over cooked, fish full of bones or had cold sides. One person in my party had berries and cream for dessert that consisted of a massive mound of whip cream that tasted like cool whip surrounded by two strawberries sliced in half. Furthermore, service was nonexistent never even asking if we wanted coffee.
Food was pretty good but way over priced, the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, over all experience was ok, no real complaints, specials weren’t so special but decent, just extremely over priced for the meals we had, it’s unfortunate, probably would have gone back but not for the quality vs pricing.
Very nice atmosphere, comfortable. Food was OK, but a little on the small size, and everything is Ala Carte which makes dining expensive here. Expect to spend about 40-50 dollars per person.
I had the gnocchi entree which came in a "chili" size bowl which was small and disappointing. This dish should be served on an open plate so the add in seafood or vegetables can be displayed as well as any garnish. The dish was just a jumble of ingredients.
We also had the rice ball appetizer, which was good, but not up to the hype as being the "best in NJ" or words to that effect. I think it is a bit weak, at any restaurant, when you only get the entree without a side vegetable, since everything is ala carte. Some of the lamb meals other patrons were eating looked better.
We left a bit hungry , so if you are looking for a full meal, this is not the place.
I took my boyfriend and his son there for my boyfriends birthday. The lamb, steak, and chicken were very good. The waiter forgot to bring us the pita and hummus. I had to ask for that. Portions not huge, but big enough. Not like a diner. Skip dessert. Not worth the cost. But I would go there again. It was good.
We had no idea what was in our backyard! I have been wanting to try Lemon, never made it there until now. Decided to take our parents for their 60th anniversary and we had a wonderful experience. From the appetizers to the desserts everything was delicious and served hot. Staff was great answering any questions we had. Loved it so much we are going to attend Chef’s cooking class!
Odd place the physical location looked like Italian or Greek food was good but very overpriced for what we had ( we had the specials mine was a seafood melody over pasta - there was tilapia and some mussels some calmer and one price of octopus and they charges 38.00
A belly dance came out and started dancing through the Isles which was very uncomfortable - we skipped desert and we will most likely skip this resturant in the future
Lemon was listed high on the Freehold list of 'veggie friendly' restaurants, so we decided to give it a try, and were not disappointed. The beet soup looked good and was excellent. The salad special of the day was creative and tasty. And the two veggie main courses that my wife and I ordered were quite delicious. The after-dinner cappuccino was uniquely served. The overall quantity of food was perhaps too much, but we made a full meal of the leftovers the following day. Two cautions: (1) it is BYOB, and (2) they provide free appetizers so adjust your meal accordingly.
