Waited on waiter for 10 minutes, food was too salty (steak). I complained but they just said sorry, nothing was deducted for the bill. I ate 50% of the steak. Won’t go next time.
The food is always good. The service excellent. The live music at the bistro bar was an unexpected bonus.
I have eaten here for 20 years and have never had a bad meal. The service is always wonderful. The menu is great, but the specials are even better. This restaurant has the best and most beautiful desserts of any restaurant in Syracuse. I can’t wait for my next visit here.
One of my favorite places in Syracuse. The Trio appetizer is incredible!
Filet in green curry outstanding as an entree, shrimp dumplings rock as an appetizer
Very good, many gluten free and vegan choices. Very helpful staff and excellent service! Worth the trip!
Lemon Grass provided the best Dining Week menu. The food was excellent and a great value for the price. Plus that chocolate slipper is to die for.
Our server, John, was very attentive without being overbearing. Lemon Grass has some of the best wait staff in town.
Went for Dining Week, so great value (3 course meal for $25), but also delicious and varied menu. I appreciated all the gluten free option on the regular menu. Staff was professional and knowledgable--got a nice bottle of wine for under $30 to go along with the meal. Nice experience--will be back soon!
The hostess with the colorfully died hair ignored my date when he tried to check us in for our reservation. I had to walk up to her and loudly command her attention to which many of the patrons felt she was being very discriminating against many. When the Head Hostess came over her demeanor straightened right out. I'm not OK with this kind of behavior. Other than that it was a wonderful evening and dinner experience. I will return and she (colorfully haired hostess) will be checked if she decides to be weird again. It's 2018 get over yourself.
Went for Dining Week so it was crowded and loud but that was to be expected! Food was fabulous, service great! Not to be missed!
I think this restaurant would have been much better if it was not restaurant week. They were working off a discounted fixed menu and the kitchen was slammed. It took over an hour to get our salads to the table. And then the food we ordered looked like it was rushed. I think it might be a good place, and I will give them another try, when they are not as slammed with the specials.
We were not seated until 40 minutes after our reservation. It took a long time for server to come to our table. I ordered a glass of wine, which still hadn’t come when first round of food was served, so I cancelled it. Service was horrible. Food was good, but the wait and lack of service affected that for us. The woman pouring water was fabulous; friendly and completely attentive. Always back with water before our glasses were empty. She saved our experience from being a complete disaster.
I had high hopes for my second meal at Lemon Grass. The last time I was here was 6 months ago when I last visited Syracuse from San Francisco. That meal was decent. However, this meal was subpar. Overall, our selections were inconsistently flavored. To start, the oysters were fresh. No complaints. Next, the Tom Yum soup was under seasoned. I had to ask for three lime wedges to add acidity and flavor. The beef salad was overly aggressive with the salt. This was such a disappointment as it was otherwise delicious and herbaceous. Finally, the forest mushrooms with shrimp and Pad Thai were, again, very salty. What made the overall experience even poorer was that it took an hour and fifteen minutes before our food arrived. When my Pad Thai arrived, it included chicken (I requested tofu only). By this time I was starving so I ate it without complaint. Not sure we’ll be back.
Always a great experience. Plenty of options no matter what your style/taste prefers. Sue is a great server and always treats us exceptionally.
Wonderful Dining Week experience (3 courses for $25... I chose the house spring roll, mixed bitter greens with peanut dressing, and Gang Gai). The food was delicious, cocktails were good and the service was outstanding.
Outstanding as usual; food excellent; service excellent; a bit noisy, but tolerable.
Made reservations which I highly recommend you do. We were seated immediately and given menus and the list of Restaurant week specials. Wonderful selection. Our waiter was excellent and I ended up taking his recommendation for my dinner choice and I’m really glad I did it was delicious! The only complaint I have is that the tables are very close together and having a private conversation is really not possible. I’m glad I wasn’t on a first date. Don’t forget to get one of their homemade desserts simply amazing.
An amazing dining experience with the absolute best Thai cuisine I’ve ever enjoyed. Definitely a must-eat while in Syracuse. If you have the means to go, you will not regret.
The food was great, very flavorful! Service was good
My wife loves Thai cuisine and so I thought I'd surprise her for Valentine's Day and take her to this restaurant. I have never been to Lemon Grass before. We sat in the Main Room. I understand it was special day and expect it to be busy. The room is nice but the tables were lined in rows close together. Almost looked like a cafeteria seating in school! It was relatively noisy as expected with the large amount of people in the room. Plus the having 2 of the walls being floor to ceiling glass did not help to deaden the sound. Hard to have a conversation.
We opted for the special 5 course meal and we purchased a bottle of wine rather than the individual pairings priced at $30. First, I want to say that our waitress was wonderful. She was cheerful and did check on us from time to time.
Most of the servings were very good. My only "beef" was with the Imported Kobe Grade AA6 steak I chose as the main course. While it was tasty, it was cold -- room temperature -- as were the potatoes. I asked the waitress if that was the way it is supposed to be served -- she did not know. I am just used to having steak served hot.
The time between our course servings was very long. Our waitress did bring us a glass of wine on the house. But it was over 3 hours before we were finished -- too long.
I'll go back again in the future --- but not on a holiday -- and see if experience is any better.
Everything went well
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. My wife and I have never had a less than stellar experience here.
We have eaten at the Lemon Grass many times and the food and service is always stellar
Billy is the best. 10/10 service
Although one of our favorite restaurants in Syracuse, the taste has been compromised. The red curry chicken used to be much better before they precooked the chicken. Last visit the chicken was leathery rather then the usual tenderness we are used to.
I've been 3x now and certain this is the best restaurant in all of Syracuse.
Restaurant was closed when I arrived for my reservation. I was not notified that the restaurant was closed as was strayed in the snow. Went to a brunch place near by
This was our first time to Lemon Grass, and it was quite the meal. We chose the Prix Fixe New Years menu and was satisfied with the creativity and flavors of each course. It was a bit chilly inside but considering it was like 5 degrees out I guess the chill can't be completely gone. Our server was attentive and courteous, it was a very positive first experience at Lemon Grass.
As always so good
I’m a huge fan of wine and Thai food. They had both and a variety of other bistro options if you prefer. The service was very good. The wine was really good and reasonably priced in comparison to other restaurants. The service was very friendly and the server knew the menu and wine list very well when it came to recommendations. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and we went all out on food and wine and I was not disappointed at all at paying that much money at the end of the night because everything was very good. Would definitely go back but probably order less expensive items, including a bottle of wine, of which there were plenty options. If you love really good Thai food and wine definitely go there.
Service was great - Billy. Food was excellent. Consistent stop whenever we are in Syracuse for visit. Highly recommend
Lemongrass is the best restaurant in Central New York. It’s as close as many people will get to the quality and creativity of Michelin starred restaurant in the Syracuse area
Had the Prig Pow it was outstanding. Service awesome as it always is. Helpful and knowledgeable.
The food wasn't bad but for the price I expected much more. I felt like I could have had a better meal for half the price at another Thai restaurant such as Erawans on Erie Blvd.
The Pad Thai reminded me a lot of the Pad Thai I get frozen at the grocery store (Amys). Except I paid 5 times as much for it. I had high hopes for Lemon Grass but left feeling disappointed.
Restaurant wasn't that busy, but we were sat in the middle of dining room with people moving all around us, instead of the open seats around the edges. Lights were oddly bright inside for dinnertime. Dinner was served so quickly it must have been pre-cooked. Food and service were mediocre at best.
Very impressed with the dinner, it had a very authentic taste.
The setting was lovely. The menu, a little confusing (Thai and French/steakhouse). But the food was excellent. The only disappointment was a very snooty waiter who acted like he had better things to do than answer questions and make recommendations. We had an enjoyable evening in spite of him, but it left a negative impression of this otherwise very fine restaurant.
Delicious food spectacular desserts. Pricey
Great Asian fusion with a large menu (including fresh seafood and steak-Snake River Kobe continental style is the bomb) as well as more traditional Thai food and sushi as well. I would be difficult for someone to not find something they like on the menu. Very well thought out wine list with moderate as well as high end bottles (if that's your thing). Reluctant to share the good news but my son is graduating this year and they deserve the props.
We have enjoyed the food here several times, but it is always a very rushed experience. We were done in 1 hour on Saturday night. I realize they want/need to turn the table, but there is no lingering here!
