Fine dining at its very finest!! Just amazing!! Our server Matt, was just perfect...informative & attentive. We will go back.
My two Grandsons ages 10&8 enjoy fine dinning and it was time for them to experience the history of the hotel. My Son and Daughter-in-Law agreed and the reservation was made. The food and service was outstanding. Matt the server treated the boys like the gentlemen their are and the meal was delicious. What is the saying: What memories are made of....I say the Lemaire at the Jefferson Hotel.
Lemaire has always meant something special in food and service. Well, the service was there as our waiter, Andrew, was at the top of his game. He took care of my allergies and service was prompt. However, the dishes, although good, were not spectacular, which, quite frankly, we have come to expect from The Jefferson Hotel and Lemaire. I got brussel sprouts that were slightly blanched and hard as rocks. I told Andrew about them, but there was little he could do. I segregated them on my plate. The chef send out some brussel sprouts that were cooked a bit more than the originals, but they too were way too hard and under cooked. My complementary birthday dessert was very nice and unexpected.
Terrific meal with wonderful service. It was our 27th anniversary and Lemaire did not disappoint. Our server, Melanie, was attentive and fun, made great recommendations but allowed us to enjoy an unhurried late dinner. We had drinks, appetizers and main course. Everything was perfectly prepared and each item very special. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the white sweet potato bisque; I had the incredible chicken fried oysters as a first course, followed by skirt steak and my wife the rockfish. All-in-all a perfect meal.
The food was absolutely superb and our waiter was terrific. All in all, a wonderful evening.
Wonderful dinner. Appreciate The Jefferson Give back to the community through the 15% return to the SPCA.
The Valentine Room is the height of sophisticated dining. Classy but not stuffy. Our server, Andrew, was knowledgeable about the specials, the regular menu as well as the drinks and wine menu. Went above and beyond to make sure we selected a suitable match with our food.
The food was absolutely fabulous! Our waiter - Sean, was very knowledgeable about the menu items and was very attentive without "hovering". We were offered a sample of the wines we thought would go nicely with our meal selections before we had to make a final choice. Nice touch! I also like the idea of the glass-and-a-half of wine concept, because often one glass isn't enough and two glasses might be more than you want to drink.
Did I say the food was fabulous :-)
Great food and service.
Our first trip to Richmond and we decided to stay at the Jefferson and check out its signature restaurant. Are we glad we did. Our entrees were truly delicious, especially the pork chop with collards, squash, and polenta. The steak tartare and duck salad were great starters as were the cocktails (They make a very nice Vieux Carre). A wonderful Rioja accompanied the meal. A special shout out to our server, Andrew. His knowledge, demeanor and non obtrusive attentiveness really made a difference between a really great meal and a truly memorable one.
Slow service but good! Food was delish
We have been going here every year for our anniversary . Always Great food & service.
Excellent food, service and ambience!!
Very good food and service, including the bread and butter they served. The wine selection was excellent as well.
My wife and I were in Richmond for a few days, and we booked a few highly recommended restaurants for evening meals. Lemaire was head and shoulders our favorite place. In fact, we consider the meal we had there to be among the very best we have had anywhere.
Wow - it was great. Tuna tartare app was outstanding, as was the pork belly app. Chicken main was good, lentils started good but needed more “sauciness”; pork chop was well-cooked. It was nice as they allowed starch-substitutions.
We always enjoy celebrating special occasions at LeMaire. The food, service and beautiful surrounds are unmatched anywhere in Richmond. Absolute perfection— every time!
Dining at Lemaire is such a treat! Our food was outstanding - gorgeous presentation; delicious flavor; well portioned. We enjoyed specialty cocktails before our raw oysters. Main entrees - rockfish and beef tenderloin - were perfectly seasoned, cooked, and presented. Portions were also perfect. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I could not have hoped for a better meal and a better experience at Lemaire.
Dinner was delicious and it was easy to have conversation.
Lemaire is located in the Jefferson Hotel, which is documented 5-star establishment. Lemaire matches the excellence of the hotel. The cuisine is excellent. Our server, Lori, has worked at Lemaire for 14 years and is a thorough professional with a great personality and sense of humor. Dinner at Lemaire was a thorough pleasure.
I will recommend this to every friend I have. The food was some of the best I have ever had. The service also helped make our dinner amazing.
Excellent ambiance and top quality food and service
Don’t go hungry unless willing to spend a lot of $ to order extras. Bar drinks extremely expensive and average at best. Service was fantastic and the hotel is gorgeous. Persons working there are extremely curtious and pleasant.
The place was wonderful. The interior looked amazing. I ordered lamb and it was totally worth it, the meat practically fell of the bond it was perfectly cooked.
Excellent food, impeccable service, very lovely atmosphere. I have enjoyed the place for many years and would recommend it for all or no special occasions. While it is not inexpensive (seems to get more expensive over time) but it is worth it.
Fantastic fine dining experience. Craft appetizers and classic entrees that are simply cooked well with great flavor.
Lemaire offered a truly exquisite experience that we'll remember for a very long time. The night was truly special in every detail. Our waiter, Matt, was the real deal and offered a league of service I wouldn't have guessed was possible. Ambiance was cozy. Food was bursting with complex flavor tones from the appetizer to dessert. Finally, to top the evening off, a leisurely stroll inside the Jefferson was the perfect ending.
Thank you Matt and team at Lemare!
great atmosphere great stay great place for fine dining.
Very fine restaurant, comfortable, quiet and elegant in a standard way. The menu is rather standard but has some
good touches, such as very good deserts. Truly interesting wine list for European items, American less so. Very good pace: every thing arrives just when it should. We had exceptional service and a very fine evening. There is also an active bar.
Great staff & great food! Lemaire made our anniversary special!
Everything was fantastic about Lamaire--the service, food and ambiance were outstanding. The only issue we had was that the main floor lounge was not open for pre-dinner cocktails--other than that I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful as always. This is my favorite restaurant. I love their happy hours and dinners on special occasions. I bring all my out-of-town guest here.
Valentines Day Dinner
We are in Richmond for three months, so I took my wife to Lemaire for Valentine’s. The hotel is beautiful, but dinner was delicious and the service was terrific. It was a night out.
We celebrated my wife's birthday and Valentine's Day. We have been many times at the Lemaire and always found it excellent, but this time it exceeded all our expectations far beyond anything we have experienced before.
Thank you to the staff for making it our most memorable visit ever.
Celebrating our Third anniversary with my wife at the Jefferson tonight for the first time and it was fenomenal. Our waitress Carissa was excellent and Shawn was an expert with wine. We had the best dinner we could of asked for. We’ll definitely dine in for a second, third and on.
At our Hotel Jefferson the Lemaire was beyond expectation
Table and room well apponted.
Sliced thin smoked Rohan duck wth fresh salad not to be missed
Fresh Rockfish with unique ingredients .
Good wine lists Mark our waiter ,very knowledgeable wine
and source foods and ingredients . Seldom have dessert but amazing at this restaurant
Wonderful food, great historical location, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress was not only unobtrusive, but friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We found her outstanding. She made our 34th anniversary dinner memorable. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name due to "senioritis" , but she home schools her two children. She deserved every bit of the large tip we left, if not substantially more than that. This was our first meal at Lemaire, and will not be the last. The venue and staff made this a special night.
There is no wonder that this is the #1 restaurant in Richmond. Now, of course, that varies dep0ending on the number of reviews that come in but trust me... this is THE #1 regardless. Food, service, atmosphere. Oh yeah! This is fine dining in a glorious hotel. The entrees are superb as is everything else HOWEVER....there is any doubt about picking an appetizer.... the chicken fried oysters... OH YEAH!!!
