Had an outstanding meal at Lemaire on Friday evening. I was first impressed with how many gluten free options you had that didn't require nearly any adjustment, and then, how easy it was to make some adjustments if needed. I had the beef tenderloin, which was prepared perfectly, as was my husband's. My son had the scallops and said they were fantastic. Our server, Bruce, said he had been there for 18 years, and he was excellent. This is a must-do restaurant, especially if you are staying at The Jefferson Hotel.
The restaurant is excellent in every category. Whether dining for dinner, or with friends at the bar, it exceeds expectations.
If you would like to have not just a meal, but an expierence then go to the Jefferson Hotel. If you get Shawn as your server, the evening will be perfect.
Chicken fried oysters were EXCELLENT as was the rockfish.
Service was decent but my dish was not as I ordered it. The salmon was not cooked completely on the inside. I asked it b well done. Outside was OK. I thought it should have been compted but instead the waiter told me the dessert would b free. I didn’t really want a dessert but got fir the table.
Not thrilled with the last few times I’ve been to Lamaire.
We so enjoyed the atmosphere, service and entrees....well done!
Always classy and beautiful with delicious food
Had heard great things about Lemaire and am glad I was able to visit; not a local but enjoy working in Richmond.
The food was unbelievable and the service was great. Can't ask for more. One of my few favorite places in the area.
We enjoyed our dinner immensely in the beautiful dining room of this magnificent hotel decorated beautifully for the holidays. Our waiter, Michael, could not have been more attentive. What a memorable experience!
Everything was top notch and the food and wine were spectacular.
Outstanding! First visit. Will definitely go again.
Nick was an amazing waiter.
Food was ok but not wonderful
Lovely as always!! Great decorations! Fabulous food and the staff is always stellar!
My friends & I have made dinner at Lamaire a holiday tradition. We love the food, service and atomsphere that always lives up to our expectations. Thank you & will be back next year.
We attended the Grand Illumination Monday and reservations at restaurant for 830pm. Appetizers were great but out of the 5 having dinner, none of us thought it was worth the price. None of us ate it all. My tab alone was 180.00. This is our second year meeting at your Grand Illumination, we drove two hours or more and we decided not to return next year. I love your hotel and in the past the food has been excellent.
Fabulous food and extremely attentive wait staff (named Matt). Highly recommend for a special occasion or anniversary.
Excellent waitress that deserves recognition for her superb knowledge of all the food items in the menu.
All four of us enjoyed our dinner. Two had the beef, one scallops and I had the vegetarian lentils with cauliflower. My lentil dish was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. For an appetizer, I had the mussels. I prefer the traditional presentation with garlic, wine and butter plus toasted french bread. It was just perfect.
The hotel has been decorated for the holidays, so make sure you have time to walk around and enjoy the decorations.
Very special place, all who can, should see
Very nice for a romantic evening. Casual attire was a plus
I would highly recommend this restaurant for it’s exceptional service from valet parking to warm reception unop entry. Our server Shawn was knowledgeable of the menu, warm and engaging in attending to our needs. I went with 6 of my friends to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed our meal and A+ service. We will return soon.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Richmond with excellent food, variety of menu, non-intrusive servers and outstanding ambience!
All previous experiences have been top drawer. An off night; it happens to the best of us.
Beautiful room, excellent service, great food
Old world style, service and quality. Great wine selection, many reasonably priced.
Very nice place! While service was perfect, the food was mediocre. The scallops were burned on top and pork chop had a mustard sauce that just did go with the dish. Pork is a delight meat and thick mustard topping was overwhelming. Desert was excellent.
It is a beautiful venue. The wait staff was attentive and not stuffy. The food was very good and perfectly prepared.
There are certain excellent things about Lemaire at the Jefferson hotel that do not change: great decor, nice space, unique menu, outstanding and welcoming service. In that sense, everything was as expected this time. Couple of things need an improvement: even though the place was not busy (Tues evening) we waited quite a long time for meals being served. My second main concern, was about particular meals that tasted below expectation: pork chop was dry because it was simply overcooked, salmon piece was too elegant in its size. Creme brulee - pumpkin style, the worst one of I tried. The scallops/clams were good but not extraordinary. And as usually my compliments go to the chef for the duck breast: excellent taste/normal size and an appetizer: oysters on the shell with caviar-simply delicious. And almost forgot: I always admire as the mushroom soup is being served, very fancy.
Wonderful champagne cocktails during happy hour; excellent service in both the bar and the restaurant; delicious, excellently prepared food.
Did not disappoint. The Fried Oysters and Pork Chop were particularly excellent. Wine list had several great choices at relatively reasonable prices.
This was our first time at Lemaire and we were very pleased! The service was perfect and the food was very good. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. We most definately will return for another great meal!
Our go to place for special occasions. Atmosphere is classy and one of the few places left that does not actively pursue the "vibrant" crowd although a few times we have gone to the bar in the past it was crowded and noisy due to a large event. Food is typically excellent although the scallop dish I had this time was way to salty for my taste. It is generally a decent value for a very upscale restaurant and the only reason I rated it down for value on this trip is the specialty cocktails I had were mostly ice with very very little beverage. Certainly not worth the price paid and we will likely skip the bar next time.
The Jefferson is a beautiful landmark and that is the main reason for visiting this restaurant. The restaurant itself is average, limited menu and the service is average.
In Richmond you can't beat Lemaire for fine food, beautifully presented, and lovingly served by attentive staff... in one of the most beautiful rooms in the city.
Loved it! Such a cute hotel and restaurant.
I took my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. This was our first time here and we were very pleased with everything the delicious food and dessert was great. It made his bday very special and we had an amazing time dining here. Also the view inside this restaurant was breathtaking very gorgeous.
all around wonderful!
