Made a reservation for mother’s day at 7:45. Called to confirm. They said there was a 20 minute wait when we got there. Finally got to our table. Waited 10 minutes for server to come take drink order. Bread took 30 min. Server never returned to take our order. We saw people asking their servers where the food was and all the servers were making excuses about how long it was taking. We decided to get up and leave. This place needs to be on one of those restaurant rescue shows. Because it’s a poorly run family business. Can’t really rate food because I was never able to taste it.
Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Our table of 11 walked out after 2 hours and no food. No one even tried to stop us. It was a total disaster for a Mother’s Day. Three moms and no food. Shameless!
Certainly an under performance. A reservation made well in advance for an early dinner on mother’s day led to an unapologetic 1 1/2 hour wait. The supposed highly rated rest had no on site manger. Food mediocre and dinner a disaster as our 10 month old waited for a unplanned late dinner. My condolences to the founders of this supposed Detroit area icon
Reservation was 5:15. We did get seated to 6 pm. We didn't leave to 930 pm. Kitchen couldn't keep up w customers and food took forever to come out. When food did come out it was cold, wrong food or just bad......tables all around us were walking out.
Advice: Next holiday-do limited menu!
Very busy on Mother’s Day. Not as awesome as normally but still great!
Had a 5:00pm reservation and was not seated until 6:10pm. After two hours around 8:30pm our entrees came out. Very dissatisfied. Some of my party got up and left the table and went home. Had to ask many times for simple items like water. Steak knives were given to us halfway through eating our steak if not at the end. No apologies for the delay in service or lack there of. I would of expected at least the restaurant to offer complimentary dessert or something.
Not as good as we remembered. The food was good but not worth the price we paid…

Chad our waiter catered to our every need. I've been going for 72 years and another since inception in 1939. I have yet to have a bad meal in all those years. Keep up the good work.
Nice old school Italian restaurant, but overpriced for meal, which I was hoping to be truly old world. Service was spectacular though.
Invited clients for lunch, the food and service were excellent. It exceeded our expectations. I can strongly recommend for anyone inviting corporate clients to lunch. Thanks to everyone at Lelli's. I'll be back.
Our experience was great. There was a large party across the building on the other side, a little on the loud side, but I can respect a celebration. A loud crowd just wasnt what I was expecting for the atmosphere.
We had not been in a while and have been patrons going back to the old Lellis on Woodward. Food and table service were absolutely as expected of a fine restaurant. The only thing that knocked a corner off the experience was the failure to acknowledge the special occasion of my wife's birthday. This may have been my failure to enter and send it correctly on OpenTable. As we came down to the end of the meal, I was reluctant to make a thing of it. In the scheme of things, not a big deal given the typical excellence of everything else!

I would recommend Lelli's to everyone. The food is excellant and the service is the highest level.
The food was excellent and the service started pretty good but failed to follow up towards the end. We had to wait 20 min to get our check because our waiter was too busy with new customers and I believe he forgot that we were waiting for our check, we had to call another waiter to remind him.
Regardless of the disappointment with the service, I would go again and again for the quality of the food and I am hoping that the service would be an isolated incident.
Overpriced and disappointing. I'd like to be able to give Lelli's a higher rating, but the dinner did not get it done.

We had a nice time in this beautiful Italian restaurant, enjoying a 5 course meal with good options which included a nicely grilled organic chicken breast and vegetables. I like to see more gluten free, organic and locally sourced meals being offered more and more in the Metro Detroit area. The service was also impeccable. Grazie per una bella serata!
Place is going rapidly down hill!!! Food was mediocre at best. The waiter was gross (stunk like cigarettes) and could remember anything we told him! Then brought us a bill that was inaccurate!
We havent been to Lelli’s in quite a while. The food used to be very good but the service was poor. The food always arrived late to the table and was cooled down by the time we received it. This experience was awful. From start to finish, the food was tasteless and expensive. Not sure what has happened but we wont be returning anytime soon nor will we recommend the place.

We were sitting there waiting for forty five minutes after our reservation to be seated. We were starving and a horrible experience. Food was ok and will never recommend this place.
Absolutely horrible service. We had a reservation for 7:45 pm and arrived at 7:40 pm. The waiting area was full of people also waiting, many of whom were visibly frustrated and upset as they’d been waiting for long periods of time, even with a reservation. Finally seated one hour later at 8:45 pm. Servers were trying but were clearly understaffed that night. Guests were getting up and leaving. The food was fine, not extraordinary, especially for the price and ridiculously slow service. There were long waits between each course. All in all, we were there 3 hours.
Will never go back here. Horrible service. Waited an hour for a table WITH reservations while the maitre D messed about on his phone, disappeared contanstly for 10 min at time and told every person it will just be 5 min wait. Then took 20 min to get a menu, another 20 min to order and hours to get your food. The only food we had delivered was our appetizer of 3 raw shrimp that only have to be put on a plate. After about 9:30 it really died down too so no being busy wasnt an excuse. After waiting over 3 hours we told them forget it, paid for our appetizer and left. Most poorly managed restaurant i have ever been too. I am assuming because the owner is cheap. One extra waiter/waitress would have reduced the time to actually place an order. Also they duct taped $3 Christmas lights around everywhere. They want to charge $100 a steak and can't invest any money back in. Extremely dissatisfied, will never recommend or go here again. Driving to Chicago and eating would have been quicker.
It's always a wonderful dining experience at Lelli's. The food is delicious and plentiful! The menu is quite large with lots of options from steaks to seafood to your favorite Italian dishes. If you go the route of the Lelli's traditional dinner service, you will likely be full when your meal arrives so plan accordingly! I opted for veal marsala, which warmed up beautifully for lunch today.
Service was horrible. Sat for 20 minutes before we were given any notice. Was served one drink and was not offered another till dinner was finished. Water glasses finally filled 5 min before leaving. Bathroom was disgusting. Took a couple with us. Was embarrassed.
Very courteous staff. Well dressed. Food was great. Live violinist and guitarist present. Was here for 3 hours. 2 hours waiting. Busy.
