Lelli's of Auburn Hills
Friends outing and picked a wonderful place
The food was exceptional. The Shrimp Lelli dish was amazing and my son said his steak was one of the best he’s ever had. We will return!
Excellent food and service. Emily was attentive and very helpful. Made it a very special occasion. Will definitely be back and refer friends and family!
Food was very good, but only after they remade m filet. It was supposed to be medium rare and it came out well done. They did throw in some tiramisu as an apology so kudos for that.
Only real issue is price. Aside from the filet which is $50-60, every steak on the menu is $70-$90+. That is about double what Mario’s is charging these days. Don’t get me wrong - it was a really good dinner. But for comparable service, quality, ambiance and a more reasonable total cost, Mario’s would be my choice.
No valet parking, but closest parking all set aside for valet. Food was average. Lelli’s hasn’t kept up with the times.
Allison our waitress was amazing. Great service.
It's tough for a place with very good food (been there once before) to overcome poor service. 2.5 hours for dinner for three. Drinks were served wrong according to how they were ordered, long time between courses, had to ask several times to have our water glasses filled, entree finally came prepared fine but the sides were cold, and the place wasn't overly crowded. Good tradition, good food vs. poor service and remote location, they better step up their game.
Wonderful dinner! Service superb! Dinner delicious! We will be back....and soon!
Best in Auburn Hills
Had creamy minestrone soup which has been the same recipe since 1911. 4.5 stars
Otters Rockefeller - 5 stars
Bruschetta- very unique, 5 stars
The “Kelly”, our server, special. 8 oz filet with creamy burgundy mushroom sauce, jumbo sautéed garlic shrimp, mashed potatoes, 5 stars
Service, 5 stars
The filet is my favorite meal of all time. I’ve been getting it for years. Try it, you’ll love it.
Quiet night - came to Detroit after many years away. I used to visit Lelli’s on Woodward as a kid - we weren’t disappointed at all! I was just as good as my memories.
On July27th, upon approaching the entrance of Lelli’s, the front door was very difficult to open. Ambience is very outdated, and the arms on our dining chairs were heavily scratched . Noise
level was extremely loud due to a screaming child having tantrums. We informed owner’s granddaughter we were temporarily leaving and will return. We left after having our salad and sat in parking lot until we saw the family leave . Me and my guest and the other table of people with unruly child were the only customers there on July 27th.
Upon returning, the owner’s granddaughter informed us she was going to serve us the already prepared fillets. We gave plenty of notice after having our salad that were temporarily leaving and were appalled she considered doing that. Our server advised granddaughter to have chef prepare fresh steaks.
The entire experience was very disappointing and I will not return or recommend Lelli’s to others.
While working in Detroit, I often frequented Lelli’s on Woodward, and always received excellent meals. I was very excited to go to the Auburn Hills restaurant location, but after this terrible experience, I won’t ever return.
Quality is always very good. Cameron is the best!!
Lelli's is a tradition in Detroit a tradition that never disappoints. The food is off the chart and the service is always. If you have never had Shrimp Lelli you are missing the best thing in the world.
The food was dull and not very well prepared; soup was not hot, for example, and the pasta overcooked.
Lobster was very good however. The waitress forgot my appetizer and had to be reminded half way through the course. She also knocked over a nearly full wine glass onto my suit. All in all, not a very good dining experience.
I made our reservations on line. Received an email to confirm the reservation. Arrived and seated promptly. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff acknowledged our celebration upon arrival. The food, the service and the ambiance made our celebration complete. As always this is a great place to commemorate special occasions.
We were extremely disappointed in our meals. The veal parm was skimpy and lacked flavor. My pasta was overcooked. Not a good experience. Not likely to return
My husbands birthday and everything was AMAZING! Our favorite place ever! Excellent waiter, everyone was excellent!
The filet was out of this world.
everything was great! the one drink, a strawberry margarita was sent back. It had a funny taste like strong water taste!
Too overpriced! Food was very average. Very disappointed. We spent too much for party of 12 and left unhappy with our experience
Service was terrible. We were there 3 and 1/2 hours . Left before desert as our table was very upset with the whole experience. Table of 8 Food came out in three waves 15 minus apart . Fold was cold. We were there for a 70th Birthday celebration. Ordered a 90 steak medium rare and it came out well done. So tired of waiting didn’t send back. I came here 30 years ago and had a great experience. Very over priced vs the steak house offerings today.
Will never go back to this restaurant.
We were going to a concert at Meadowbrook and made reservations. Traffic was horrible but we made it. Our waiter was fantastic, the food was perfect as usual. My filet was scrumptious along with your great zip sauce. Restaurant was clean, and just a few patrons were there. Nice quiet atmosphere. I will be back.
Right from the start Kelly was everything you would expect from a top notch server. Quick, polite, and attentive she handled the experience perfectly, even making sure our steaks were cooked to our liking before leaving the table. The food was superb as well as the atmosphere. Could not have more pleased with the entire experience. Bravo Kelly L and Bravo Lelli’s.
An enjoyable evening. Cameron always makes it a memorable dining experience. You can lose the violin and guitar duo though. They're more annoying than enjoyable.
Consistent excellent cuisine - does not disappoint! The veal picatta was exceptionally good
As always, the filet Mignon was juicy, delicious and so very tender.
The veal Lelli was equally as good and their sauce added to the wonderful taste.
The creamer spinach left much to be desired However.
Our server, Latasha, was perfect. Polite, attentive and personable.
Loved the Filet! It was the best I have had in a long time. And the Zip Sauce, amazing!
Sharing my thoughts, dinner was on the upper end of good, not Outstanding. Prices were indicative of a restaurant that should be outstanding. Our metro area has several restaurants priced similar with 5/5 stars.
One spectacular old style Italian restaurant/steakhouse that serves some of the best food in the metropolitan Detroit area. I go here for every special occasion and every day dining. Our wait person Christina was wonderful. Probably the very best Bolognese sauce you will find anywhere in Michigan. The steaks and the veal chop are to die for. And what can I say about the zip sauce other than fabulous.
Wonderful dinner. Our waitress was great.
good food good service used a groupon and I screwed up waitr was very understanding and patient let me resolve the problem with groupon
Made a reservation for mother’s day at 7:45. Called to confirm. They said there was a 20 minute wait when we got there. Finally got to our table. Waited 10 minutes for server to come take drink order. Bread took 30 min. Server never returned to take our order. We saw people asking their servers where the food was and all the servers were making excuses about how long it was taking. We decided to get up and leave. This place needs to be on one of those restaurant rescue shows. Because it’s a poorly run family business. Can’t really rate food because I was never able to taste it.
Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Our table of 11 walked out after 2 hours and no food. No one even tried to stop us. It was a total disaster for a Mother’s Day. Three moms and no food. Shameless!
Certainly an under performance. A reservation made well in advance for an early dinner on mother’s day led to an unapologetic 1 1/2 hour wait. The supposed highly rated rest had no on site manger. Food mediocre and dinner a disaster as our 10 month old waited for a unplanned late dinner. My condolences to the founders of this supposed Detroit area icon
Reservation was 5:15. We did get seated to 6 pm. We didn't leave to 930 pm. Kitchen couldn't keep up w customers and food took forever to come out. When food did come out it was cold, wrong food or just bad......tables all around us were walking out.
Advice: Next holiday-do limited menu!
Had a 5:00pm reservation and was not seated until 6:10pm. After two hours around 8:30pm our entrees came out. Very dissatisfied. Some of my party got up and left the table and went home. Had to ask many times for simple items like water. Steak knives were given to us halfway through eating our steak if not at the end. No apologies for the delay in service or lack there of. I would of expected at least the restaurant to offer complimentary dessert or something.
