As a self-proclaimed brunch enthusiast, I was excited to visit Lela based on the online reviews and photos. However, I was disappointed that my experience did not live up to my expectations.

When you drive up to the restaurant, it is important to note that Lela is located inside of the Sheraton Hotel; this was not called out when I made reservations on OpenTable. However, when you pull up, there is ample parking and a dedicated entrance. When you walk in into the space, it has a simple elegance to it. But the one other thing that really surprised me was...my five person party were the only guests in the restaurant.

When we sat at our table, our server remained attentive throughout the service. She shared that the Eggs Benedict was the most ordered and her favorite menu item; my two friends who ordered it commented that the taste was average. My friend who ordered the pancakes said they were middle of the road and my other friend who ordered a shrimp pasta dish said she thought her dish was average.

I wanted to a menu item that was more unique, so I ordered the donut sliders. I love a sweet savory/salty dish, so I thought this would satisfy my taste buds. Though the presentation was ok, the taste was subpar. The slider was not well proportioned to the donut bun; the donut bun was far more dense than I anticipated; the flavors did not blend well together. I also ordered a side salad and I enjoyed that more even though it was just greens with dressing.

Though the price was right, the taste was not. Therefore, I would not recommend this establishment for brunch. Perhaps, it is best to just visit during dinner for steak, but I will likely never discover if this is true.

Fine food although steak was overdone.
Service is irregular.
Like the menu and will return again.

Three of us enjoyed the Christmas buffet. The food was delicious with the usual wide variety of dishes to choose from, each and every one done to perfection.

Fabulous! Attended the Christmas dinner buffet and my expectations were far surpassed. My 93 year old mother (in a wheel chair) LOVED the Prime Rib, the green beans, the salad and everything else. I'm not a meat eater and yet found many, many vegetarian options, all of which were fabulous. I'm curious to return and try their regular menu. In short, this is not your typical hotel restaurant. Far better!!

To start with our food took over 1.5 hours to get after we ordered. Side note we were on the early end for dinner-5:30. We were a party of 5 and everybody ordered different entrees. My steak ordered medium well was overdone as was my vegetable dish. My husband ordered a gluten free pasta that was undercooked (hard and chewy). All of us were underwhelmed. I rarely write a negative review but this was a really expensive meal-Christmas Eve- and a huge disappointment. The server was fine and the atmosphere was also fine.

Went here for brunch. Not very many people, 2 servers for 4 tables. Food took forever, when it arrived it was cold. Server refilled coffee once. Server was friendly, but moved at a snails pace. Based off the experience, I would not recommend it.

This is a fav lunch spot. I decided to try the brunch but was sadly very disappointed. The food was served cold. The staff seemed overwhelmed though the place was less than half full.

By all means enjoy their weekday lunches (the ceviche is especially delicious. ). Skip the weekend brunch.

The food quality was very good. Our server was horrible. The restaurant was very loud (and I went on a Tuesday). The overall feeling and atmosphere was not bad but not good, as a lot of the restaurant was not heated

I was so disappointed! Lela had become our favorite brunch spot but Sunday was not a good experience. They have removed our favorite entree from the menu. The food took forever, and then one of the meals was cold. They ran out of Bloody Mary mix (at a brunch??), and they served MOLDY berries. When we pointed out the problem, they brought more and they were moldy too! I left a message for a manager to call and nobody returned my call. So sad - this place used to be outstanding.

They were completely understaff we sat there for 15 minutes until we asked the bus person Juan who was the server for this section he was completely surprised that the server on duty had not been by to take are order, he then said I will take your order and he got the order in and delivered. Something is not clicking at Lela they need to get a manager on duty to oversee what is going on in the dinning room, Juan should be promoted.

We will return. It was good. We had several small plates and HH appetizers and enjoyed the. All. Creative and tasty. The only downside was we sat in the bar area for HH specials as they don't offer those in the dining room and it was very cold as the wall is basically all windows. Maybe if there had been more people it would have warmed it up. We told the waiter and he turned up the thermostat but couldn't feel it in the short time we had left. I hope they can war, it up when it gets really cold out because it wasn't even really cold the night we were there.

My daughter ordered the Halibut which came on the plate without any sides or even a sprig of green. We were aware that we had to order 'sides' but thought at least the Halibut would have come somewhat 'dressed up' and not just plopped in the middle of a plate. A niece who ordered a steak had the steak served the same ~ in the middle of her plate. There were no rolls or bread basket of any kind provided or offered. I felt the desserts were limited for a holiday affair.

We have been here for quite a few holiday buffets. Nothing really special but we did enjoy going here. Food and selections not really worth the price, and this time they also automatically tacked on a 20% gratuity for a table of 3, without any notice ahead of time. We will not be going back .

Went for the Thanksgiving buffet. I am not a fan of buffets, however the food was really outstanding. $10 for “bottomless “ bubbly cocktails was a good value. Beautiful salad, tasty turkey and prime rib and a great selection of tasty pastries for desert. The only reason I didn’t rate it higher was the service. Originally seated at a table with cold air blowing on us full force and the server did not want to move us and suggested to us that it was not cold. There were open tables, so we were moved eventually, but wedged so tightly between other diners that I couldn’t even place my purse next to me. Slow to get drink refills and no offer of a second cup of coffee.

We were just disappointed. We are home cooks and we enjoy going out to sample well-prepared food. The seasonal Brussels sprouts were well seasoned but mushy. The mushroom ravioli dish was well put together but too "al dente". The spicy tuna tacos were interesting with their plantain shells, but the shriracha sauce overwhelmed the tuna (and we like spicy tuna sushi a lot).

Amazing meal. The ceviche was some of the best I've ever eaten. The taro chips served with it were light and crisp, a perfect combo. I had the broccoli soup which was light and tasted nicely of the vegetable itself, not cream. The beef tongue tortellini was outstanding. I would have preferred the pasta to be a tad bit more cooked - it was really al dente, bordering on undercooked -- but the beef both it was swimming in was nectar of the gods. My spouse and I shared the donuts for dessert. The chocolate one was fine but the other two of the trio were fabulous, especially the toasted rice one. I'm still thinking about it days later.

Meatball app was great, the petite steak was just that....overall food tasted good-service was incredibly slow (even getting our drink order in and then finally delivered) especially when there were not many other patrons in the restaurant. Seafood was excellent. We would come more often if it was not so noisy. It was difficult to hear across the table unless friends talked very loud. So it was difficult to have a relaxing meal with 4 people.

The food and service was generally pretty good. I did order a "special" halibut for $28 and it was a tiny piece of halibut on a large plate. No presentation, no rice, no lettuce, no drizzle, just a very small piece of halibut! That was not a good choice. Everything else the others ordered was pretty good.

Lela was very disappointing. We went for a date night during restaurant week as their restaurant week menu looked good. Unfortunately the food was awful. The broccoli soup and salad was bland. The salmon was way overcooked and horrible to eat. The service was horrendous. We had to wait over an hour for our main course. Lela to be one of the most overpriced restaurants in the city. Would not recommend to anyone.
