Great selection of food for brunch. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff.
Had a lunch meeting with a colleague. Nice quiet place with great service & a comfortable space. I haven’t stopped thinking about going back for the beet salad. It was amazing!
The “not your basic brunch” was sooo good! Loved the Paella, shrimp, and meatball!
Slow service. Our breakfast took 2.5 hours. The food took forever to come and wasn’t very good.
We were seated 25 min after our reservation.
This place is lovely inside. Unfortunately the food doesn’t match its decor. The food was so disappointing cause nothing we had was remotely good. With all the good restaurants around this place is failing completely. Good place for wine but not a good place to eat not even appetizers.
I really enjoy this place. The menu is creative and the service has always been great. Will plan to go back again soon.
Great modern architecture restaurant with a nice menu, lovely ambiance, and good staff. Don't be put off that it is co-located with a hotel; the entrance and building are completely separate. It was quiet for a Saturday night but that is probably because near a number of hotels it would get more weekday traffic. Food was terrific.
The space is beautiful. The wine list is definitely worth mentioning. Concept of the restaurant was a little confusing. The food and wine menus gave the impression of a more fine dining establishment. Based on this impression, the service was a little casual for me, though it was bad by any means. I was excited about the food menu. Quality of the food seemed to be top notch, though execution was little sub-par. I started with the crudo sampler. That was mighty tasty. For my entree, I did a little surf and turf. My lobster was slightly undercooked, and my steak was over cooked. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side, which were dry and not very well seasoned. I did, however, really appreciate the salt “tasting,” which is where I was offered several different salts to use to season my food. Overall, presentation was decent, food was average, service was decent, but nothing to write home about.
The food and atmosphere were really good but the best part of our dinner out was our waitperson, Juan. He was very attentive, funny, and really nice. It was also very sweet that a dessert was provided for our birthday guest.
Nice to have a high-end brunch buffet relatively nearby. Quite a bit pricier than I would want/expect even for the great variety and quality of food they offer, so this will strictly be a special occasion event for us. Kudos to the fine piano player who was playing not your usual easy listening background songs yet not getting in the way of conversation, and adding to the pleasant ambiance.
Food & service good. Restaurant was physically cold, however. Turn on the heat!!!?
Every bite of food was delicious. The bread was so fresh, the appetizers were flavorful, the pasta also so fresh and homemadee, the steaks were amazing, the fries wErethe best! The desserts were really good, although not the highlight of an otherwise top-notch meal.
Went for dinner during Restaurant Week. Husband and I had delicious steak with bernaise sauce. Friend's piece of salmon was very small and although the plate's presentation was very pretty, the amount of food on it was tiny. The appetizer meatballs and tres leches cake were exquisite. Beautiful modern room. Friendly staff.
Dined here because of Restaurant Week, the food was fabulous! Loved the ceviche and the tagliatellini!
Five star across the board, food, plating, service. All over the top. Stopped in for Restaurant Week ( be sure to make a reservation), and will be return in March again.
Moving forward, our top choice.
Fun new restaurant for us. Good food, great service. Nicely done!
Enjoyed the carrot ginger soup alot
Stopped in after a kids game, amazing and thoroughly surprised by the food. Tasty and reasonable for the quality. Will stop in often!
Food was not good. Steak was served cold; fish was an undersized tail-portion; hamachi appetizer was inedible.
Nice place, clean, good food and drink, service was a bit slow, but still fine if not in a hurry. I will go back.
Very very disappointing experience. I read all the fantastic reviews for this place and thought it would be a great spot for Valentines Day....boy was I wrong. We were not told all they were offering was a set price menu until we sat down and the chefs counter. The choices were all pre-prepared and this restaurant seemed ill-suited to the crowd. I asked if i could order off the regular menu and we were told no yet throughout the night we saw items from the regular menu coming out of the kitchen?? In terms of a chefs counter experience....there was none. There was no interaction with the chef, no special treat or course that usually accompanies a chefs counter. It was little more than a table in front of the kitchen. In terms of the dinner, it was a disaster. The "NY Strip" was cut like a sirloin and had the tenderness of a flank steak and was full of gristle the Pork was tasty but the carrots were dried out and over-curried and the Gouda Polenta had turned into wallpaper paste. We sat and watched our dinner sit under the heat lamps for at least 10 minutes before they were delivered and ended up with a luke-warm meal. The desert....ugh...what was supposed to be chocolate mousse was obviously sitting in a refrigerator uncovered all day as the plates were ice cold and it had the consistency of a stale marshmallow. The even managed to screw up the drinks as my dirty martini came without dirt and a glass of wine came with "dirt" in it in the form of pieces of cork or something. To add insult to injury, the restaurant had the gall to add themselves an 18% service charge to the bill. If you are going to force your diners to eat off a pre-chosen menu, perhaps you need to inform them when they make the reservation and above all make sure the choices are well prepared and served in a timely manner. Your regular menu looks great but this disaster of an experience that cost me $210 will make it very unlikely i will ever come back.
My fiancé and I were estatic about going to Lela’s for v-day. I had found it after doing some research on 5 star dining so we were really looking forward to our special evening. I made reservations for 2 for 10pm a week before. We arrived at Lela’s at 9:50pm and were very pleased with the place. We were seated and asked for a regular menu not knowing that they were only doing a vday special menu. The waiter took our special menus and brings back 2 happy hour appetizer menus telling us that the kitchen closes at 10 and we would have to order off of this menu. However, another waitress gave us the vday menus back saying we could order off of it. So after all of this confusion, we ended up having to order off of the happy hour menus. Although the food was fine, I wish we were warned that the kitchen closes earlier. Both of us got off of work late that day and were looking forward to an actual meal and not bar food.
The Prefix menu was not worth the $60.00 PP they charged
Pretty good for a chain hotel restaurant.
We had a wonderful server who was very attentive, kept the coffee and ice tea rolling, and are breakfast was very good!
I had heard good things about Lela, so I was expecting something better.
My gnocchi dish had good flavor, but it was lukewarm at best. My guess is that it sat for a long time while the other entrees were prepared because service was a bit on the slow side. Letting a dish sit for a long time is a real bush-league move. I would have expected someone in the kitchen to notice that it had been sitting for too long and make a new one.
I know management will say "you should have said something". But here's the thing -- when you're out with a group of people, it's about more than just your food. When you send your food back you ruin it for everyone at the table. It disrupts the rhythm of the evening.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food, so maybe it was just my turn to have a bad meal. It's a great looking restaurant with an interesting menu, so I will try Lela again at some point.
What an absolutely wonderful evening. I have not had such great service anywhere in a very long time. We went for what was going to be a business meeting and ended up just being social. Literally the best overall evening out I’ve had in at least a year. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet the manager Sammy - would not have been the same without him.
I met two friends for Happy Hour food and cocktails, and Lela was an excellent choice! We sat in the bar area and had a comfortable table and were able to talk to one another. Michael provided us excellent service, and the food, wine, and cocktails were very good and the value was excellent! I would definitely recommend Lela, and we plan to make it our spot for our monthly Happy Hour gatherings!
Awesome pasta! We did the pre-fix 3 course lunch and what a great value! The Bolognese was so flavorful as was the mushroom ravioli. We will be back!
We were visiting Minneapolis and this restaurant had very good reviews online. We really enjoyed our meal. The highlights were the meatball appetizer and the crab cakes. Both were fantastic!! The wine list was pretty good and I tried a nice Malbec. For our entrees, we shared a ribeye which was tasty and well cooked. Dessert was the least exciting-- a trio of donuts. They were a little cakey and not super satisfying, but the rest of the meal was really nice.
Great first time experience. Open Table reservation worked perfectly. Service was rock solid. Food choices were great. And biggest hit, outside of NFL/Super Bowl celebrity watching, was the donuts. What a great dessert choice!
The setting is pleasant and sunny for Sunday brunch. Great breakfast menu plus regular menu was available. The House omelet was fluffy and filled with nicely sautéed ingredients. The crab Benedict was excellent with the patty filled with lots of crab meat. Desserts were delicious, the sorbet sampler and chocolate cake. Service was efficient and friendly.
I MET WITH MY NIECE AND HER FAMILY FOR BRUNCH AFTER A CHURCH SERVICE ON SUNDAY. OUR TABLE WAS READY AT ONCE, WE HAD AN EXCLLENT SERVER AND EVERYONE WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE FOOD THEY ORDERED. IT WAS VERY QUIET WHILE WE WERE THERE, AND SO CONVERESATION WAS RELAXED AND COMFORTABLE.
Loved the whole experience. Beautiful space and great food.
I want more people to go to Lela! The food was great, service was friendly and fun, but it was kind of dead for a Saturday night. Granted we did go early (5:30 to 7), but it was only like 20% full even when we left. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and chatted with us without being overbearing. The food was fresh and yummy and the cocktails/wine were good. There are a ton of seating options, whether you want a banquette, table, secluded booth, casual cocktail seating, etc. It would be perfect for big groups as they have a lot of large tables and not much traffic. I hope it stays open!
There were 8 of us and we shared everything from apps to salads to entrees so much fun!
Really enjoyed this restaurant. 10 stars on the food. Especially loved the meatball. Best ever!!!
Birthday. They did not do anything even tho I had informed them
We cancelled reservations at Kinkaids when we noticed they no longer had a decent seafood offering and switched to Lela when we noticed tuna, salmon etc on the menu.
My granddaughter and I both ordered the yellowfin and were not at all impressed with the quality of the offering. One piece was so full of grisly tissue I could not eat it.
Place was not busy at six thirty, but service was pretty slow regarding drinks, appetizers.
I would not go back.
This is my third visit, and I have enjoyed all three visits. Great cocktails, and wonderful apps. We chose multiple apps to share, and really enjoyed (meatballs, deviled eggs and brussel sprouts were my personal favorites). It was not very busy when we were there, so noise level was great. Service was very good.
