a bit pricey
need more side dish options
The food was delicious. We went with some of the server recommendations and they were good choices. The medium heat was spicy but did not burn. Naan was the best part!
Outstanding food and service. Owner Sonny always helpful with wine selection and having food prepared with the amount of spice you like.
Sunny and his staff are always on point and the food is terrific
We had lamb biriyani and a chicken dish in a cashew sauce. Both were very good, as was the regular naan. While dining, we overheard the waiter inform another guest that they also were able to prepare dishes that were not on the menu, and the waiter described a specific one - palak chaat (a spinach dish) - which we have had at another Indian restaurant, and which we would have ordered had we known the restaurant could make it. It would be nice if waiters offered these additional options without having to be asked specifically about them.
Fantastic dinner as always. Wonderful food and service.
This was my first Indian food experience . Restaurant is connected to a mall . Dress is casual . The temperature of restaurant was a little warm for me as if air conditioning wasn't working properly . Waiter was unethusiastic just took our orders and was like here you go . However there is a delightful man who walks around I assume owner, who caters to your every need . He is the reason this place is a success . He explained and suggested different options recommended drinks all with enthusiasm . Basically his service makes up for waiters lackluster service . Food was phenomenal ! Loved the garlic naan and the Lahoori lamb shank . The seafood is great and the appetizer cauliflower fantastic . I'm gettting hungry just thinking about it . I will be back !
Wonderful evening with fantastic food and service - always a great experience
Always a delight dining @Lehja
Wonderful , authentic and original Indian taste
The food at Lehja is absolutely out of this world delicious! Five of us shared three appetizers: chaat, samosas and marinated cauliflower, each one a festival of flavors, and then each had our own entree with naan and roti. Everyone was delighted. On this busy Mother's Day evening, they were having computer problems, which affected the speed of service, but service was friendly and decent, just slower than ideal, which is why I didn't give five stars there. I highly recommend Lehja -- worth the drive out to Short Pump for this city family!
Food as always was amazing. Never disappointed here.
Wonderful lunch with my wife & son.
Amazing flavors.......not your average Indian restaurant.
A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
The food and service were excellent. The only thing that was weird was the waiter brushing crumbs from two of the three plates he was placing on the table with his bare hands instead of bringing out clean plates. My husband had the Chicken Masala which was excellent and I had the Chicken Dalcha also very good.
Delicious, authentic, and elegantly presented Indian food in a stylish environment with attentive service. The prix fixe weekend brunch is an outstanding value.
Always a favorite
Food was over cooked, portion small for entree, vegetables undercooked and cold, service not accommodating.
Lehja is one of our favorite restaurants in the Richmond area. I've never had a dish served that wasn't perfectly balanced in flavor. Their wine selection is fabulous and the servers are attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing.
Our second visit. Everything was wonderful. This has become a favorite of ours for great authentic Indian fare.
If you “think” you don’t like Indian food, let this restaurant prove you wrong! The food is fabulous and the staff is amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this place.
Lehja is a personal and family favorite for birthday dinners---or just because! A lovely restaurant where the food is authentic, staff is amazing and the ambiance relaxes you. Love to watch the owner greet his patrons and make menu suggestions. On top of the delicious food the staff at Lehja treats you as an honored guest.
The food was excellent as was the service. We enjoy Indian food and were happy to find this place. Parking is easy. They are under renovation but not sure what they are doing. Maybe outside seating.
This is one of the great restaurants. Sunny puts on a virtuosos performance whenever we eat at Lehja's. One of our friends, a complete Indian food naïf, was asked what foods she liked and Sunny took it from there and conjured up a unique dish specially for her! My friends could not have been more impressed.
I wanted to try something new for date night so we visited Lehja. From the appetizers to the dessert, the food was amazing. The decor is beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious.
The food was very good. Server was super nice and knowledgeable. Although they were understaffed so clearing of plates sat awhile. Server apologized for the lapse in service and we knew it was not his fault. Overall really good authentic Indian with a contemporary decor I was t really feeling. Great people.
Date night for us
Food: lamb vindaloo was outstanding, chicken tikka masala was delicious, samosa was decent, but the crust was a bit thick.
Overall Experience: Our waiter was polite, but seemed frazzled, and had to be reminded of things. Drinks arrived 10 min apart, which was very odd considering the specialty cocktail came first, and a simple glass of wine 10 min after. The decor is pleasant, but up close, not clean. Our table had food from prior customers on it, as though it was frantically wiped down seconds before we were seated. I was honestly surprised that the main dishes were any good based our experience up to that point. Would I go back? Unlikely to dine in...just for take out, as the lamb vindaloo was possibly the best I’ve ever had.
Loved this place. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is excellent. I will definitely be coming back.
Amazing restaurant!! Wonderful and personable service. Superb quality, creative Indian food!
Way too overpriced just because it is located in Shortpump Mall. For the price, you get a dated ambience and mediocre service.
As always, we were treated like special guests(as is everyone at Lehja). The food is delicious, fiery spiced according to taste, and comes with a story. My teenagers love this restaurant too!
Very good first visit to this restaurant both food and service were great.
Once again Lehja has proved its value and expertise at giving great cuisine in an unassuming atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff! Thanks Lehja!
Always very good. The owner is always attentive and the waitstaff are excellent. Great variety. The best Indian food in Central Virginia!
Lehja is the best Indian food in town and one of the best restaurants in town period. Everything we had was delicious! The chaat was amazing, samosa were perfect, cauliflower was perfectly spiced. Entrees were all so good that we couldn’t pick a favorite. Can’t wait to go back.
Me and my friends from Randolph-Macon College went here to get some food out by Short Pump mall, and all of us agreed it was worth it as we shared samosas for our appetizer and chicken tikki masala for the main course. We had two different desserts that really sealed the deal for us!
Delicious food! Attentive service. We had a nice family celebration there.
We keep coming back for the food, which is always wonderful, the personal attention even on busy nights from Sunny, the owner, and the classy and contemporary ambiance. Always a home run!
