We were given a gift certificate by a relative and were THOROUGHLY happy with the entire experience! We would recommend it to our friends and relatives - a bit on the pricey side, but great for special occasions.

I can't say enough about how good the food was. I had the best duck leg confit I have ever had. My husband had some wonderful ricotta-filled raviolis that were awesome. They really pay attention to freshness, preparation and plating. And the service matches the food. Excellent!

This restaurant is a local gem that has stayed consistently good over several years. Celebrating my sister's birthday, my nephew, his lady friend my sister and me enjoyed several fabulous appetizers, great soup and salads and 3 outstanding entrees. While my nephew didn't enjoy his choice, the management made every effort to find out why and ensured that he was offered another selection -- all handled in a very gracious and genuinely caring way. Service overall was excellent from the hostess to our server Alex. Great group of professionals, wonderful food and quality all around. Can't recommend them highly enough. Will definitely go back, and can't wait to try their newest venture -- Pie for Breakfast.

Love the fact that you can actually converse here. Food was “ok” tonight, not great. Cocktails excellent. Crostini with goat cheese and nettles, excellent. Entrees so so.

Legume is a favorite for us. This time we shared a raclette (melted cheese on bread). I had a green salad with goat cheese and hickory nuts. Very good. Greens had different flavors and vinaigrette was flavorful and not overpowering.
For mains we had walleye and goat leg. I think the goat leg was better and more interesting with polenta and broccoli rabe.

The goat cheese & nettle pesto crostini and pork pate appetizers were delicious although, at $11, I thought the pate was pricey. I had the walleye with lima beans, dandelion, bacon and ramp butter. The walleye was wonderful but I expected a more substantial portion. It was served with a handful of lima beans, less than a handful of dandelion and just two half-inch nuggets of bacon. At $27 - without any side dishes - I was disappointed. I know that walleye's popularity - and its price - has fluctuated a lot over the years (and I can remember a time when virtually no one except the guys like me who fished for it would even eat it) but at $27 for what amounted to 4-5 ounces of fish is simply ridiculous.

On a positive noe, the wait staff was wonderful. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Observing the other members of the wait staff seemed to indicate that a high level of service is the norm.

I frequented Legume when it was in Regent Square and prefer the smaller, more intimate setting. But balancing the need for more space - seating, kitchen, and inventory - with the price of a nice meal seems to have been lost. So my 3-stars for value is generous.

Just really disappointing. So little to choose from on the menu. Two fish dished - both with the same sides so if you didn't fancy lima beans and nettles, choose something else. Overpriced and over rated.

Very disappointed with the quality of venue and menu selection. Extremely causal and the price does not match the quality of food. The blinds are very stained and need to be replaced along with the poor quality of steak knives. Will not return.

Food, cocktails and wine and, especially, service - were excellent as usual. One of our favorite places. (As a suggestion, the hostesses (as opposed to the wait staff who are excellent) could be a bit more accommodating. When we make a request, they tend not to be too receptive.)

I like legume because they change their menu daily. The welleye dish was fresh and light. The decadence of sauce was pleasant but it was somewhat sour for my taste. The bread was delicious.

Friends gathering at legume again had a delightful experience ... goat trio, walleye, and red fish were all delicious. They happened to be out of my favorite root beer float and a wonderful sounding chocolate bomb. Still a totally wonderful go to here in oakland

We were celebrating my wife's birthday with our family. She chose Legume as it's in "her top five". Tricia was our waitress and she admitted it was her first night on the floor. We wouldn't have known it though as she was very professional and knowledgeable of the menu and the flow of the restaurant. She made our special night very enjoyable. Welcome to Pittsburgh Tricia. The food was awesome as always and it continues to offer items that are fresh and you typically don't see at other places. Great job Legume, we'll be back real soon.

Though on the pricey side, the dishes were very well done and presented. The staff were very attentive to our needs without being overly familiar. Stranglely enough, none of the staff gave their names, so I cannot individually recommend their services and efforts. The selection is short but the menu changes everyday. I had the Redfish, tarrow fries, and raclette, and enjoyed them all, particularly the fish. The desserts selection can be improved in my opinion. The noise levels aren't very high and I was very happy that they did not enforce a dress code, unlike many other similar establishments.

Very good dinner, as always, with good service, too. However: Overpriced, and I was put off by the kitchen's refusal to allow a substitution for a side dish. Sometimes restaurants forget they are in a service business....

I go to Legume probably twice a month for business meals - it's close to Carnegie Mellon where I work. The food is consistently good, though it would be nice if they changed up their appetizers on occasion. I would consider it a bit pricey for a non-business meal; indeed I have not chosen this place when on my own dime. I'm not sure if e.g. the steak is worth $42.

The menu was interesting. I was excited to try something new. I had the Venison Merguez Sausage. It was good! All of the other three people in the party enjoyed their dinners too.
Monday was great because they waive the corking fee and we brought two bottles of wine. Thank you for the terrific experience.
