Legends of Notre Dame
Large party reservations gladly accepted. Parties over 15, please contact the management team.
Excellent food, but inexplicable poor service. Our server was responsible for fewer tables than other
Servers, but still made herself scarce when needed.
Great place for Notre Dame athletic history. Lots of great historical pictures. Overall a good experience
Good food and atmosphere. Service wasn’t the best, but they handled our large group of 14 very well.
Great atmosphere and comfortably casual. Food good and very reasonable prices. Have been to Legends of ND many times and I will continue to frequent this fine establishment. Thanks, Gary
The food was underwhelming and if they are not going to change their menu, or add specials to it, they should prepare the food to perfection. Sadly, the quality of the food presented has diminished over time.
Ruben was tough and soggy.
San Francisco Steak sandwich, Short Ribs dinner, Pork Chop and the Chicken pasta dish were all very good and would recommend to others. Service was very attentive.
Food seemed to take inordanately long to arrive. Nevertheless, it was adequately prepared and the service was very cordial.
This was our second visit to Legends and we enjoyed it just as much as our first. They have a great menu with starters, soup, salads, hamburger and sandwiches. They also have a few entrees.....they are excellent and would love to see more of these. There are mainly booths for sitting and the benches are quite hard....but as long as you don't stay too long it is ok. Enjoyed the Notre Dame time-line and memorabilia in their decor.
Everyone was very nice. We were late because of a time mixup but everything was taken care of. Very nice night. It was our first time and we recommend it.
The dessert I selected was below par. It was the dessert with Nutella and looked like mini egg rolls. The flavor was not too good, either. I will never order that again and my visitor didn't like it either.
Always enjoyable. Menu geared more to comfort food, than healthy choices
The place was empty and still waited 45 minutes for food. The "pan fried" lake perch was frozen fish dropped in the deep fryer. The beef short rib was ice cold and looked to be several days old. Irish Nachos looked like the cheese was melted about 30 minutes prior to ordering and looked terrible. Will not be going back. Very disappointing. We drove over an hour to meet for dinner. Better food at McDonald's.
The perch needs to come off the menu. Very bad. It’s always been an exceptional place to go,,, and it was not. From the very cold restroom to the pictures missing from the walls. Ash Wednesday and no fish special. But on the high side,,, the artichoke appetizer was fabulous!!
Excellent service-ore basketball game so loud and busy
Really like the food and atmosphere, however service is slow (on more than one occasion). Don't go here if you're in a hurry.
It is a very nice play to dine. I would include more variety of salads, but still the ones in the menu are very interesting ones! The burger is really good too!
Had not been to Legends in years and were looking forwarding to dining there. The two perch dinners were lukewarm, my burger - ordered medium - was well done and crunchy, and the ham sandwich was a piece of lunchmeat. The only thing hot and really good were the sweet potato fries. Oh, and the broccoli cheddar soup looked like a glob of melted Velveeta with broccoli in it. Not going back.
Nice restaurant. Went after a basketball game. Would highly recommend this place.
Our waitress must have been having a rough day, happens to all of us. Not sure what was all going on, but it took almost 40 minutes for us to get our lunch which was just sandwiches, and they were cold, and then we never got our second drink order. She charged us for the second drink on our bill and when we asked to have the charge removed, she was visually frustrated. Again, we have eaten at your establishment multiple times over the years and have never had that experience. But this last Saturday was not good at all, the poor waitress must have been having a bad day and it showed. Sorry for the bad review. Go Irish!
Worst service ever in the 5 times I’ve been there. We waited a long time for our server on several occasions and toward the end ordered another round of drinks of which she never brought us but still tried to charge us for at the end and then even gave attitude when we pointed it out and she realized she had to go adjust the checks. Didn’t have time to order dessert. Very disappointed.
Service was good , food was not , disappointed
Sevice was poor, food came late and they kept messing up the meals, so we ended up with a free meal
The sandwiches were delicious. As was the dessert. However, the sweet potato fries were not crispy, some even as bit soggy. The cole slaw was not very tasty either. The nutella dessert was excellent. And our server was very efficient and gracious.
Went to Legends prior to a ND basketball game. They were very busy as you can imagine before a ballgame with a couple of large groups on top of that. They were staffed and ready to go. Our server was particularly good. Kudos to staff and management for a job well done.
I love having dinner at Legends before every sporting event! Great place !!!!
Food just isn’t great, especially for the price. Was disappointing.
Food was good as always.
On a non football weekend it was much calmer and quieter in the restaurant.
Absolutely nothing special. They have one thing going for them: location. The food is adequate, not great. Service is fine. Drinks are overpriced ($7 for a Guinness on tap??). The restaurant is very kid friendly, but there’s much better food all around.
Lots of that Irish spirit with great food. Greatf photos and videos and well located.
We had a great time and a super Valentine's day dinner. We had a great waitress and enjoyed the ambiance.
The restaurant was not busy upon our arrival; there were many open tables. The host seated other guests practically right on top of us, despite there being MANY open tables to evenly distributed the diners. The food was over-priced for what you received. I personally ordered a steak sandwich which consisted of 3 - 4 large chunks of sirloin steak on a ciabatta roll with avocados. The steak was so under-cooked and chunky that it was impossible to bite in a sandwich. I gave up and finally used my knife and fork to eat it. The meat was so chewy that I spit out most of it afterall. The drinks are over-prices as well, since they are priced comparatively with much finer restaurants like Ruth's Chris. The waitress delivered our food and then picked up the plates - there was no communication during the meal to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. Poor service, poor food, expensive drinks.
Legend's is the best place on campus to eat. Puts Rohr's and Sorin's to shame.
I eat at Legends ever time I visit Notre Dame! Ashley was an outstanding server. Thanks again for another memorable meal.
Fun atmosphere and good food
Friendly servers and great place for a date night
Will be going back again. Had a wonderful dinner.
Enjoyed. Gave us a nice table with plenty of room and we were able to enjoy each other’s conversation and company
If you have never been there it is a little more casual than maybe you would expect, but nicer than a sports bar. The service was really good and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered simple entrees like their BLT, which is awesome, burgers and the fish, also all very good. We were intrigued by the peanut butter burger, but decided to stick with what we know this time.
Decided to try this restaurant prior to an event on campus. The menu selection was very impressive, as my husband and I steer away from red meat. The appetizer special was tasty, and filling. Our main entrees were very good! The only thing I could find fault with was finding parking was very confusing!! We have a sporting event coming up in the next few weeks, and are anxious to try this place again. Oh...I'm a MICHIGAN fan!!
I hadn’t been to The Legends in some years (I moved out of the area) and was excited to return and take other out-of-town company. Our wait for both drinks and food was very long- well over 45 minutes for food. When we asked our waitress, who hadn’t come back to check on us for a long time, to check on our order, she said, “I put it in, what else can I do?” and stormed off. Our food was mediocre at best. The fish and chips seemed straight from a frozen food service and the sandwiches were cold. I was highly disappointed in a restaurant that I recall from some years ago being fun and having good food. I will sadly not recommend the Legends to others despite the proximity to campus and fun atmosphere. There are many other quality restaurants nearby.
