Legends of Notre Dame Ratings and Reviews
From the moment we walked in the staff was attentive yet not overbearing. The waitress offered options as you don't have French or Western salad dressing and her recommendation was spot on. Our meal came in a timely manner The steak was slightly undercooked to my order medium rare, but the taste and the tenderness made up for that. Our soft drinks were not allowed to get less than 1/3 full before we were asked about another. The decor Notre Dame all the way and the history that is on the walls is a pleasant concept. I will definitely recommend and will definitely return.
Food, as always, was excellent, however the service was TERRIBLE. Worst I've ever experienced at Legends. Our server walked past our table several times without asking if we needed more drinks. We placed our empty glasses at the end of the table and he still walked past! Our main course arrived before we'd received our soup/salad. We had to ask for our soup/salad. Finally, we had asked for mild sauce for the chicken fingers and what we received was Frank's straight out of the bottle. It was NOT mild. Other than the sauce, the food was delicious. Based on prior experiences at Legend's, I would still recommend it for the food, however, if the service does not improve I will not be back.
My wife and I stopped her after dropping our daughter off at Notre Dame. The Rueben sandwich I had was excellent and the best I’ve ever had. There was also a nice selection of beers. Waitress was very helpful. My wife had the Fall Salad and gave it high marks.
The value was good but like most sports atmospheres it was somewhat noisy.
We will be returning.
Great evening last Thursday night for dinner as we were up for the Georgia game. Like everyone at Notre Dame everyone at Legends was very friendly and hospitable. Fabulous Ribeye steak at a fair price and a good wine list good ambiance. Thank you. Ed and Cathy Crossett, Atlanta, GA.
We've been several times, since we live in the area & are ND fans. It was lively and fun. The food isn't great, but ok. The service was slower than you'd expect, however, it was a very busy night with so many out of town people there for the upcoming football game so we weren't upset by this. We were there for Trivia which was fun!
My group decided on the Legends of Notre Dame because of it's location on campus and since it was the first time in South Bend for most of us. I was surprised that it felt a little like I was eating in a university dining establishment. Not like a cafeteria, the food and drink were good and restaurant quality, but sort of like the "nice place" most campuses have these days. It wasn't the "Notre Dame" experience I was thinking it would be. Eddy St may have been a better choice.
We met up with some other parents the weekend we all brought our freshman to Notre Dame. We had a lot of fun. The service and food were very good for a sports bar! I didn't mark outstanding b/c this is not your $100/person steak place, but for bar food, it was very good! We were able to make reservations and got seated on time. It is loud but we were all talking loud. We had a very fun evening here in a convenient location!
This was a return visit, but our 1st lunch. Our waitress was very attentive with a great personality. Everyone in the group thought their food was great. Not hard to have a conversation even though the TV's can be a distraction is you are not a sports person. Since we all are it was no problem. If you are not from the area, we are not, would recommend touring the beautiful campus of Notre Dame. Give Legends a try, you won't be disappointed.
We came to legends to celebrate my mom's 88th birthday. My parents ordered the lake perch, which came as thin fried fillets with a whole plate of homemade chips. It would have been nice to have another side option. The manager came out to congratulate my mom & servers brought out a large complementary chocolate cake . That was nice. With such great restaurants in South Bend, the food was blah. We will not come back😕
Our group wanted time to visit and say farewell to a friend who graduated from high school with us 55 years ago and who is leaving the state. The staff gave us good service and allowed lots of time for visiting. We did not feel rushed and appreciate their patience.
Really cool place. Loved the Notre Dame football historic theme.....right on campus. Good menu and beer and wine selection. Solid price point. Only complaint, ordered the King of the Campus medium rare and it was served medium. Otherwise, great experience. On a side.....they served the best pretzel cheese I have ever had!!
Stopped in for a quick dinner between performances across the street at the Debartolo Performance Center. Had wonderful service. Our dinners arrived quickly and were delicious. The environment is all Notre Dame sports and is a fun place to eat. The fare for the dinner was very reasonable. My wife loved Legends and we will be back with family soon!
