The food was excellent and our waitperson great. We were going to be 15 mins late and they were able to accommodate us.
the trout almandine was very oily this time (never in the past)! too bad.
Decent food and nice atmosphere. We were a party of 5 but it took them a while to get us enough plates and utensils. Maybe the waiter was too busy. One thing I would like to give them a thumbs up was their kids meal. It is not the ordinary kind of kids meal with Macaroni Cheese or Chicken Tender. They are really gourmet kids meal in decent portion and the price is very reasonable too.
Great place! Highly recommended for any special occasion. Meals are great, wine list is excellent.
Best French food and service west of the Eiffel Tower!
Thank you dinner
Since our last visit prices have increased by 30% and service and quality declined by the same proportion. Will probably not return.
Drove 90 miles each way to have lunch. Not disappointed. Best Steak Tartare in Silicon Valley. Terrific service from Jesus.
The Left Bank was OK for a nice dining experience but food overall is not worth the prices I think. Also their menu was quite limited. Their "house" cocktails need some work - not as good as other places like The Counter. Again, drinks were a bit overpriced.
I ordered the Coq au vin which WAS very tasty and nicely presented (as French food should be, haha!) but my friend's vegetarian pasta was very, very simple (not a lot of veggies at all) and very expensive for what it was.
Service and ambiance were FANTASTIC! So if you're not too picky about food, it's a nice dining experience.
I haven't been in this luxurious restaurant for a while and expected to enjoy delicious food as always during the business lunch. No way! Just 1 page for all dishes and long long several pages list for alcoholic drinks, The food was just OK, not excellent. Next time I will look for better place for business lunch on Santana Row.
Excellent rib eye steak with fries. Limited appetizers and soups.
Our waitress didn't seem to know much about wine. :( Fondue was great and I loved that they offered bread, veggies and/or fruit with the fondue. I had the Steak Frites, which was great and my husband had the burger. So good.
Excellent, as always! Good food, attentive service, fun atmosphere
The food was very good but there was confusion on who was suppose to be our server so we waited 20minutes before finally flagging a server down. Then we saw our server maybe twice.
Also had a glass of wine at bar and I could tell bartender was having an issue calculating change, so I got the correct dollar bills but no coins that should have been included. Not a big deal since the coins were going towards the added $2 tip, but nonetheless the correct full amount of change should be given back to the customer.
Our server, Jesus was very friendly, attentive, accommodating and very helpful. We had fun celebrating our good friend’s birthday. Thank you for making it memorable for all of us.
The food was delicious. We were there celebrating a 93rd birthday. Our greeter gave our group a happy birthday welcome. However, we were a bit surprised that the restaurant did not give us a small complimentary dessert, with a candle, to our birthday person. At a 1st rate restaurant like the Left Bank, we thought that was going to happen.
Food was okay and the service slow.
First time fabulous find. Service was excellent and food outstanding. It’s our new favorite spot in San Jose.
Got to use my credits from open table !
The manager sat in the doorway until I asked to move. Don’t like being treated like 2nd class. But everything else was fine.
They do a pretty authentic range of French dishes, well - it's one of our go-to places. However the service is always slow and our recent visit was no exception. We had a movie to get to so I allowed 90minutes for just one course and we were ready to choose the food almost straight away. Yet we were almost late to the movie and had to walk our check up to the front of the restaurant to pay in order to get out on time
I love the left bank. I was disappointed because we requested an outdoor table but they weren’t serving at the outdoor tables. However it’s always a wonderful experience with lovely food, a fantastic wine list and good service. I’ll be back.
I usually love this restaurant, but this time the food was very mediocre. Had the Jacques Pepin sandwich with a side salad. Did not enjoy the sandwich at all, so only ate half of it. And the salad was completely bland and tasteless. Hope this was just a fluke.
The service was impeccable and considerate, it was very quiet, but it was 4 pm so there were not a lot of people there. Food, of course, is most important, and it was delicious.
Sadly, I was not impressed with Left Bank. I got sick from the food for several days after. Either the muscles or salmon. I wrote and called, but the manager said that if no one else complains, there is nothing he can do! I find this so poor for American standards. Most places would offer a credit or meal reimbursement. I find it awful that the manager said this, especially at such reputable place.
The service was poor and slow. The appetizer never came, has to request water and coffee refills repeatedly and requested condiments never arrived.
Service was erratic: We sat for 15 minutes without being offered a glass of water, much less a menu. My husband had to hunt down a waiter. When we finished our small glasses of water, we had to ask for more -- twice. Once ordered, our food came quickly. My husband's empty plate was whisked away; the waiter tried to take my plate while I was eating, but was persuaded to let me keep it.
The food was good. I got a free profiterole -- very good -- for my birthday.
Our table was just outside, great for people watching.
Fabulous Food & Great Service!
Service was friendly and helpful but not excellent. Quality of food and drink was down since a few years ago. Left Bank used to be more special, but this time our experience was closer to what you might expect at a crowded mall restaurant like PF Changs. We will likely dine elsewhere when we return to Santana Row.
We had a lot of fun and Jacob helped to set up de table. I felt very welcomed and satisfied.
Great services. Good value.
We live on SR strip, Left Bank has been our “kitchen” for more than 10 yrs. Our routine server Mayra is an outstanding service. She always offer an excellent cuisine that bear with perfect drink and desert.
Great place for business lunch meeting. Perfect for company monthly, quarterly or yearly celebration or simply friends and family gathering.
Very good ambiance. Great food, delicious as a matter of fact!
A great place for a business lunch!
Loved the food. I ordered the chicken sandwich for lunch. The servers were very polite and explained to me everything I wanted to know about the dish I ordered. Loved the decor too - pigs and everything!!
If the weather is fair, sit outside and enjoy the colorful flowers as you dine. The French fare isn’t anything to rave about, but it is well presented and satisfying. The wine list serves my personal tastes well with a variety of both domestic and French wines.
Be warned—the outside seating is close enough to rival Paris bistros. Indoor seating is far more generous.
We had a great meal. We ordered the fondue and the steak tartare for appetizers. Our entrees were the duck, Coq au vin, a chicken dish and the Salmon. It was a great experience. The service was attentive and helpful and the french wines were fun
Had a wonderful time and our server was exceptional
Very mediocre eggs benedict; very little hollandaise and potatoes were cold. Asked for fresh potatoes. After 10 minutes asked a different server.
I dined with two friends and we all enjoyed our evening. Service was excellent. We started with a platter with cheeses and pate; it was very tasty and attractively presented. My coq au vin was quite delicious and filling. We shared two desserts, the almond apple cake and profiteroles. Loved them both!
Not exactly a healthy lunch, lots of mayo and no choice offered to not have it.
First of all the booth we were seated in felt like sitting in a '46 Ford bench seat that had never been reupholstered. I felt like my knees were at my waist. Very uncomfortable and very cramped. We were there to celebrate my sons birthday, but there was no mention, nothing and I had put it on the reservation and reminded the hostess. The bread serving was a joke--2 tiny slices of a baguette that was only 1 1/2" wide and two half slices of wheat bread for 4 people. My husbands pork sausage gave him such indigestion that he had to take medication. Sorry but I doubt we will be back.
