My fav, always enjoy every minute. Food is great, and staff knows us.
Onion soup was good. Cheese fondu was also good. Other food though was typical of the Bay Area, not cooked by French cooks...not at all. So if you are not from France, have never been there and never tasted French cooking and work as a cook in a French Restaurant, then you really have no idea what you are doing. So congrats on the fondu and the bowl of soup, but the rest of it really tasted like something from the cooks at Dennys or IHOP.
We made a reservation a week before and we made sure to arrive on time but had to wait 20 min to sit down. They then wanted to seat us in an outside extension room that was overheated and stuffy, so we asked to sit somewhere else, they refused and said it’s the assigned table for you. We asked to talk to the manager and yes he was able to accommodate us and he moved us. The service was very poor, they were overwhelmed with VDay. We ordered appetizers, one of them never showed up, dinner came so we asked to cancel it. We asked for bread twice when we sat down, and it never came! Over priced set menu and servers not trained to handle busy holiday celebrations! It was very unfortunate because it wasn’t only Valentine’s Day but our daughter’s 17th birthday, Won’t be going there again:(
Good food and service. Pricer for the seafood but great quality.
I had really high expectations for this place. We ate here on V'day and most of our food was cold and bland. I ordered from the Prix Fix menu and my partner ordered from the regular menu. My lobster was cold and had zero seasoning. My partner's salmon was overcooked. The server was not very attentive and honestly treated us as if he did not want to be there. Everyone received a Rose except for us. We were so frustrated with the sub-par food and service that we did not bother to complain, paid for our food and left. We drove from Oakland to San Jose so this truly was a complete waste of our time. Maybe this was an "off" night!
We had a Valentine's lunch and our reservation was for 11:45. We were seated promptly, but for some reason the service was very slow and took an hour to get our food. This left a bad taste in our mouth considering the occasion.
Food was good but felt could have been better for the price, bread was cold, seafood was no as good as anticipated but good
The Open Table reservation process asks about special occasions, which we had filled out. No acknowledgment of the occasion, a crappy table that was absurdly dark, and general "you're not worthy" vibe from the hostess/seaters. Server was pretty good, food was fine. But I left with a bad taste in my mouth from the attitude.
