Nice evening for dinner outside and Left Bank is always a nice place for that. The salad was awesome and the roasted pork....good flavor and a bit dry. All in all a good place.
Our server was kind and attentive. This is our favorite dinner joint.
Service was extremely slow - not during a busy time. We had reservations and were seated in the bar area. No one came back to our table for a good 20 minutes to offer water or a cocktail. Once we finally we able to get someone to take our food order we waited another 45 minutes for the food and came out cold. We weren’t in a rush but service and customer experience was sorely lacking. Disappointed.
Amazing as always! Love this restaurant especially at Santana Row!
Sat outside on shady sidewalk of the building, so much cooler. Food was perfect, prepared as I requested. Great salad Nicoise.
Everything was excellent from the service to the food, my only complaint is the hostess. We had a reservation and she sat us at a crappy table and she had a very unfriendly attitude. Your hostess is your restaurant’s first impression- why do so many hostesses look like they are going in for a root canal?
Ate outside on the patio at the Left Bank. Had a wonderful Salmon on a bed of roasted corn salad. Service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing. A perfect summer lunch.
Even with the “outside” reservation I was told it would be difficult to be seated with quiet a few empty tables. Almost every dish was cold, had to ask to get them warmed up. Our waitress was amazing though. 3 adults, 2 kids…$320! Welcome to Santana Row.
Except for dog owners not controlling their furry pets who barked at other well behaved dogs - Everything was wonderful!
Our order for drinks was taken. Then our order for food was considered. Everything my wife selected from the menu was no longer available so she selected something else. Right about when we were expecting some food to arrive the waiter showed up and declared that her main course was also not available. The manager was summoned. Eventually the menu came back and she selected something else. At this point we had finished our drinks and needed some additional refreshment. My wife asked why the waiter could not have informed us sooner that her main course was missing. Visibly uncomfortable the waiter departed without a word. My wife selected something for her main course and approached the desk about ordering it, expressly indicating the need for it to arrive compatible with the timing of the other food. We ordered a drink from the manager. Our waiter was now ignoring us. My wife’s main course arrived but nothing of the starters or main course for my son and I, nor her starter. Naturally we complained and the manager did not seem to know that the whole order had been missing for over an hour. My wife began consuming her main course and we were offered another round of drinks. Those came and then shortly after all the food arrived at once. Shortly after that we observed a heated argument between our waiter and the manager followed by the manager approaching our table and declaring that the waiter was done and of course our meal was on him. Since it was late we ate some of the food and departed. This is the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant.
Burger was NOT medium and was over cooked. Had to send it back and when the waiter took it back, I was left with no food while everyone else in my party ate. It would have been more courteous to leave me the fries and just take the burger back.
Then the burger came out again with none of the correct toppings and the waiter took my plate again.
On their third try the restaurant got it right but everyone else was done eating and it felt awkward for me to eat.
I’d rate it lower overall but my party said the food and atmosphere were good so I’ll average it out and give it a 3.
Beware of service here is my caution.
Not recommend for brunch, few options in the menu. Short staff, and food quality was not good.
We had such a lovely night! The staff was accommodating, the food was excellent and the drinks were world class! 10/10, would dine again!
Two people in our party ordered the lamb shank. What the waiter tried to deliver to the table was a beef stew. The waiter told us that the menu had been printed incorrectly and this was “lamb shank” stew. We were not told at the time of ordering that the lamb shank was not available. We asked to speak to the manager and he verified the menu error. The manager replaced the meals and left us the “lamb shank” stew to try. It was definitely beef not lamb. We had to wait for the replacement order so 4 people in our party had food and 2 did not. We repeatedly had to remind the waiter for items that we requested/ordered (water, salt, truffle fries, sparkling water, etc.) we have been to this restaurant several times before and have always had great service so I’m hoping this was just a bad day.
Overall experience was great, especially after a long pandemic... We sat outdoor so some moderate noise is expected. We had a great time celebrating a friend's bday there.
Outdoor dining was nice
Great outdoor people watching hung! The food was delicious and service was great!
Always enjoyable. Consistently good. Great place to be on a comfortable evening.
I made a reservation for my husbands’ birthday. I booked through open table and wrote a request if the staff could bring out a dessert with candle and sing a happy birthday song. Before I came, I called the restaurant to confirm. The host said yes. However they didn’t honor their words. After we done with our meal, nothing happened. I talked to the host and he said it’s up to the server. Well, they should have told me in advance instead telling me after the meal was over, very unprofessional staff. The food is mediocre and way too expensive. The price and the quality of the food and the service don’t go together. That was my first try at Left Bank and will be my last. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Had an amazing time with my boyfriend. Server, Daniel, was great!
The atmosphere was great. Lovely setting.
The service was not good. My soup was served without a spoon. I asked the lady who bought the soup for a spoon and she told me "that was not her job - I needed to ask my waiter for a spoon" It took a while to find my waiter. By the time he brought my spoon the soup was cold. He brought me a new bowl of soup, which was lukewarm.
The food itself was mediocre. Would not go there again.
Nicoise Salad is tops; so is the butter lettuce. But the standout is Jesus, our waiter. His sense of humour coupled with his professionalism made the lunch outstanding.
Sitting outdoor in Santana Row makes it all perfect.
Outdoor dining was very hot on the street for brunch, even under the umbrellas. We were seated immediately, but they were busy and the service was quite slow. We had to wait a long time just to receive water, and then much longer for drinks (about 20 minutes each) which made the heat even less bare able. The food was good but not amazing, the waiter was very kind and apologetic.
Ala carte brunch with bacon and homemade sausage and eggs were delicious!
The round croissant was doughy not flaky like I had hoped. However, the French toast was fabulous!
They forgot to bring one drink and one appetizer that we ordered, we were brought the bill before asking for it, one our appetizer was removed from the table before we were done. We weren’t even escorted to our table , we were given options from afar and just kinda left to choose and sit . I was under the impression that there would be a better dining experience, sadly it felt like an overpriced chain restaurant. That was just our experience, maybe others have better ones.
busy resto but all good we were attended well
Vibrant place. Able to dine outdoors. The Margaritas were great the duck was a bit dry and the Calamari were great. Enjoyed the trout the most. Creme Brûlée was pretty amazing. Fun place to meet and eat with friends and family.
Great lunch place plenty of seating. Fresh Bibb lettuce, exceptional steamed mussels in shallots wine and spinach and excellent French Onion soup. Will definitely dine here again.
Hosts were absolute jerks. Told us there was an hour and a half wait with no guarantee for seating when immediately I checked Open Table there was a reservation available in as little as 10 mins which we took. After confirming reservation, hosts told us we'd still have to wait 20 mins. When it was time to get seated, they put in the smallest table by the outdoor entrance with the highest foot traffic when there were at least 5 more in our section open. Male host, approx 8:30pm.
Wait staff vanished after meals arrived. No bread was offered or served, which would've
been nice to sop some broth of my Boeuf Bourguignon. My guest was expecting a chicken confit--it didn't look like it was.
The food was excellent and done quickly for our Bastille Day celebration!
Really enjoyed our Bastille Day dinner. Only negative was the noise level.
Fabulous food, wine, and music for Bastille Day
We reserved an outdoor table. We had to wait a few minutes and the service was friendly but a bit slow, but that was OK because I understand that most restaurants are eager to get back to business but somewhat short staffed. The tables were spaced appropriately and we felt comfortable once we were seated. It was a fun environment for a family or friends. Santana Row is bustling with people happy to be out again plus we were there the same evening as the farmer's market, so it was quite loud and busy all around. The music from the nearby Mexican restaurant competed with the Left Bank's music. The food was excellent. We had oysters, Steak frites, and mussels. The chocolate fondant for dessert was amazing.
The food was basic but very good and good portions. We could not finish all, we had to take home. My wife is french, she commented the food was very authentic except the french fries. it was american fries. but still very good.
Had a nice family birthday there. Service was good but one can see they are still a bit understaffed. But a great evening none the less.
My birthday is on bastille day so have been to left bank several years.
We got seated in a far corner of the outdoor dining. Water was brought. No one took a drink order until we flagged down our server. After that we waited a good 15 minutes and no drinks. Sorry to say we got up and left.
The noise level between left bank and music coming from the tequila bar next door was overwhelming.
Great to have magician and music. There was also a unicyclist. It made for a very nice evening. The French dip was incredible!!!
