It has been 20 years since we have been to Vail & dined at Left Bank. We loved the new decor! The escargot was divine as was the seafood bouillabaisse. Yummy chocolate soufflé!!! Our #1 favorite of all the restaurants we dined for the week!

Excellenct dinner with attentive service. This is a great spot for a romantic and relaxing dinner. The attention to detail is impeccable. We live in Denver and would say The Left Bank is worth the 2 hour drive for a special evening.

This was an anniversary dinner. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, the wine list is excellent, and the location is convenient. The food and service were outstanding. We liked it so much we booked another reservation while we were eating.

Our first experience should be called Two Banks. We had really excellent food and terrible food. First the good. We ordered the escargot to start. They were very good but just slightly too salty. The Dover Sole was some of the best I have ever had. We also ordered. For the bad the French Onion soup was not very rich. The onions were not carmelized enough and the broth was "thin". For the bouillabaisse, the contents were excellent but the stock was thin and disappointing. The disaster was the duck. It tasted old and over done. It had to be sent back. The service was excellent and the noise level was comfortable.

In Vail for our 35th anniversary & had dinner & Left Bank on a Sunday evening. Light crowd so everything was prompt & quiet. Exceptional food and service. Had the filet with peppercorn sauce and it was excellent. Chocolate soufflé for desert was also excellent. Will definitely return when we are back in Vail.

Left Bank is a special place in Vail. You are almost transported to Paris for a fun meal.
The night we were in, I think they were short a waiter and so they were struggling a bit on a busy night. They did recover though and the food was excellent!

A very good dinner at Left Bank but a little expensive. My friend and I ordered the half duck special. No mention was made of the price and we assumed it would around the same price as the regular duck dish on the menu which I have ordered in the past and is delicious. However when the bill arrived we learned the special was almost $60 per person. You will not go wrong on ordering just about anyything on the menu here but ask the price of specials before ordering!

I admit that my expectations are high for Left Bank. I have had wonderful meals in past years. This time was a disappointment. Escargot was over cooked, foigras was tasteless & my Duck was also over done. For the price I was dissatisfied this time. - June 2017

Outstanding food. Lobster bisque soup was delicious, followed by seafood in puff pastry in saffron sauce. Wife had the steak au poivre blanc. Chocolate soufflé for desert. Ask for seat at the window if dining before sunset.

First visit to Left Bank. Very traditional French. Expensive but everything was excellent. Not many customers at 8:30 on a Thursday evening, unlike most other good Vail restaurants. Tables by windows have excellent view of Gore Creek. Will probably visit again, but so many interesting restaurants in Vail that it is difficult to decide where to eat each night if one only has a few days.

Jean Michel and his talented team of professionals continue to rank among the very best traditional French restaurants anywhere! Superb wine list! Extraordinary vintages. We are so fortunate to have the Left Bank in the mountains of Colorado.

Found this gem while walking in Vail Village. Impeccable, friendly service. Delicious food, with great wines. I had one of the appetizer specials - Dungeness crab salad. Light, refreshing, and the right start to the meal. My main was Steak au Poivre Blanc (Beef filet, rolled in crushed white peppercorns served with a cognac cream sauce). Recommend you try this restaurant. Thanks to Alena, Brian, and Taylor for a great dining experience.

Terrific restaurant. Great wine recommendations from excellent wine list. Pepper steak was superb and all four had it with slight variations in cooking which were executed perfectly. Excellent choice salads come with dinner and appetizers and dessert were equally great. This is a 'don't miss' restaurant.

Excellent service. Good wine and liquor selection. Lovely decor. Being French the food tends to be rich. The Grand Marnier soufflé is superb.

The Left Bank is one of the longest running restaurants in Vail. I first ate here in 1969. My wife and I have made a tradition of always having our final dinner during our annual ski trip to Vail at the Left Bank.

The cuisine is classic French. Favorites of mine are the blinis, the lobster Vol-au-Vents, the bouillabaisse and the duck but they have different specials every night that are often irresistible alternatives. Tonight, for example, they had swordfish steaks cooked to perfection with a seasoned butter sauce and delicate incredibly smooth mashed potatoes. The Left Bank is also famous for their soufflés (chocolate or Grand Marnier which I recommend, but the chocolate is a bit bland in flavor.

The decor was redone a few years ago and is more modern than before but perhaps a bit too laboratory white. Nonetheless it is still a sophisticated place and the creek side tables are cozy and romantic. Get one if you can.

Service is impeccable and very attentive. They are willing to accommodate special requests but best to give them advance notice.

This is an expensive restaurant but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend especially for special occasions.

The decor's been updated with great chairs and glass ceiling ornaments, to uneven effect - the chandeliers are too busy, the tables too close together, the neon strip in the wine room distracting/ill-conceived. The food is good, but not spectacular (the chocolate shuffle disappointingly un-chocolatey), the service mirthless/staid instead of professionally formal.
