Lovely to be back at Left Bank. I had hoped for brunch menu but salad and pate and cheese were good.
When I made the reservation I put down that it was for our anniversary, but there’s was no acknowledgement of the occasion.
Great experience. It was a business meeting, seating outside. Quite environment, tables are private, and very well set up to comply with social distancing at every given time. Food was really good (and wine even better).
Lovely server and so sensitive to the COVID situation. Very glad to be able to take my son here to celebrate his graduation.
Food was unremarkable and the margarita was so so.
Drinks mediocre, forgot to add muscles to order so cane late, a pound of muscles that we couldn’t eat as there was an after huge taste. Sadly spent over $200 and now at Dinah’s poolside getting real drinks and a meal. Planning to call the manager as well. Im a local!
We had a wonderful birthday dinner outside on the patio.
They are doing a great job with outdoor dining and COVID restrictions. Food was great, service was perfect.
Food was great, as always. Social distancing measures were in place and seemed well thought out and observed. Outdoor dining with Santa Cruz closed to car traffic is very relaxing. I hope they make this change permanent. There is a 3% surcharge on the check for MP's Living Wage minimum wage. I find that objectionable. Wage costs should be included in the menu prices.
We enjoyed our outdoor dining experience very much! We had a nice table location outside not too close to others. Dinner (& wine) was served quickly and it was the best steak frites ever! Peach Melba also delicious. Thank you for the great service during these challenging COVID times!
We appreciate the efforts to make it safe-distancing outdoors, gloved servers, and prep for food, safely delivered. The same great staff from before closure.
Menu was limited as it was the first day back “open”.
We’re hopeful the restaurant can survive-we always dine here when nearby!!
Great Social Distancing I observed from staff! Was nice to sit Maude and enjoy the great food!
Great food, large portion size, very filling and rich - everything you’d expect from a French restaurant! Easy to park, great anniversary dinner.
Had a great lunch with an out of town friend. The lentil soup and salade lyonnaise were delicious.
Our only criticism is the proper way to order meat preparation. Two of us ordered hamburgers and were told medium" would produce pink throughout. It did not, so our friends were disappointed
Great for lunch, nice varied menu with something for diverse palates.
Quiet, Beautiful, and Classy. A nice place to enjoy a good lunch
Best fries anywhere. Had the pulled pork and it was really outstanding, went out of my way to compliment the chef. Professional servers, respected our privacy but were attentive to our needs. Lovely French ambience. Been there many times before, personal and work dinners/lunches, sustained high quality & value. Highly recommended for professional dinner/lunch, or romantic place for a date
Sat outside, nice. Felt like I was in Europe. I had mussels, the best I’ve had in a long time, yummy
We love left bank and we are regulars. I think they are underrated. We love their food, service and ambiance! The servers are very friendly and professional! We will be back soon :)
Very enjoyable. We will be back for more!
The service was really good and the dishes were very consistent...Exactly what we were looking for tonight.
Having eaten at the Left Bank on many occasions I have high expectations, which were, as usual, met. We had a great meal in a wonderful atmosphere at a reasonable price considering the quality of the food.
Very friendly and efficient hostess.
Business Lunch was terrific.
Service was attentive and not overbearing.
Food was very good.
Service was great. Everything tasted great. Pretty busy, even on a Monday night.
My husband and I along with another couple went for Valentines and enjoyed the restaurant, ambiance, and food. I was slightly disappointed to find a prix-fixe menu when we arrived as their website did not announce that. It would have been nice to know this in advance but thankfully the dishes I was really looking forward to were on the prix-fixe menu.
I had a 4-star as I was not overly thrilled with the dessert option and part of our fondue was not fully melted however it was still very delicious.
Come here for a Valentine’s Day date. Quiet impressed with the food quality, though the wait time for food prepping is long. Nice place for good and romantic dinner.
Well, my husband and I can for Valentines Day. Roses were given to all the women (loved that!) and I had a special request for a corner booth and I got it! Our server was very nice but It served unnecessary that he had to ask the chef to honor my request for a different vegetable that was on the menu. It worked out, but it didn’t seem that it needed to be an issue at all. Again, the server was very nice about it. They could probably put 4 or 5 scallops on the plate, 3 was pretty slim. The food was very tasty.
Delectable dinner from start to finish. Valentines Day Prix fixe menu was incredible. Escargots, salmon, lamb shank. And the chocolate heart cake and profiteroles were delicious. Service was really great. We will return, for sure.
Most likely the worst restuarant experience I have ever had. Arrived early for a reservation and was delighted to be seated right away. We were greeted fairly quickly by our waiter and brought water. Waited 15 minutes before we were able to place our order. Started with a flight of champagne and an appetizer, which came within about 10 minutes.... it was downhill from there. We ordered wine which took longer than I would have expected. After an hour we hadn't received our starter of soup and had to flag our waiter who was all surprised that we hadn't gotten it. He disappeared returned shortly and said your entrees are ready, what do you want me to do. My husband and just looked at each other and said forget the starter. The entrees came and had obviously been sitting as they were cool. There were clients who came in after us who were leaving as we were partically through our meal. We had ordered more wine and stopped eating to wait for it...15 minutes. We finished our entree and after another 45 minutes asked where our desert was. It began to feel as if the service people were avoiding us because they had made so many mistakes. The dessert came with the manager who said he would comp our wine and handed me a $50 gift card. Needless to say I used the gift card to help pay the bill as I knew I would never return. Was so disappointed by the experience. Never to be on our recommended list.
Food was disappointing given price
Left Bank has a friendly, welcoming bistro vibe. There is enough space between tables so that it is possible to hear those speaking to you. The booths are comfortable and spacious. Everyone from our host who welcomed us, to the waiter, servers, and manager checked to be sure that all was well.
The food is always delicious. Our family especially enjoys the mussels, calamari, seared ahi salad, boneless short ribs, and roasted chicken. We can always count on this place to be delicious and a pleasure. We have gone for brunch, lunch, and dinner and always have been so pleased and very well feed. Enjoy!
Great service with great food. Best to come early (5:30 or sooner)
Left Bank is our "go to " place. It's always a welcome atmosphere, excellent food and good service
Lunch menu is usually a good value with two courses. The soup was good and tasty, the chicken in the chicken sandwich was very thin, which was OK, but also very salty. The french fries were nice.
Wonderful venue for a lunch with a good friend. My only complaint was that I wished I had more time to spend there and relax but sadly had to leave. The food and service were wonderful, and I will be back soon.
Great food and a great place to hang out. Service is also always great!
Food was wonderful! Mixed drinks amazing. Our whole party had a lovely time.
Our meal was a business lunch. The restaurant was busy on a Thursday afternoon, and we were seated timely. Service was excellent. Food was very good (Croque Monsieur and Sausage with Fries). Would certainly return and thought the price was well worth it.
We normally dine here once a month since we do not live in the area. We noticed small changes here and there presumably to cut costs and increase margins. The French Onion Soup was reduced in size which affected the overall cheese balance. House bread was changed. Pommes Frites was changed. We always are allowed to order the Charcuterie from the Dinner menu, but this time we were not allowed by the kitchen staff. What was always special brunch is becoming boring...I believe.
Unfortunately this restaraunt is too big, with food that is not that interesting and a bit too over cooked. The service was fine, but not inspired.
