thanks for a great meal in an excellent outdoor setting; 5 stars on the meal if the salad lyonnaise had been dressed :)
Food was just warm. We went to La Boheme on California Ave and ordered similar food, which was miles better than Left Bank: more tasty, hotter temperature and stayed hot for a much longer time -- similar outside temperature. We would not go back to Left Bank.
Great food & service. So nice to enjoy live music on the patio while we ate.
With Covid restrictions, we dined outdoors in an area designated for distancing safely, and I found it delightful, warm and very pleasant.
The menu was excellent, and the live music was over the top! It was a very lovely evening.
Everything was great but the slow service. It was very hard to get the attention of our server who basically ignored us. Loved the sausage dish and the European atmosphere.
We have eaten at LEFT BANK many times but this time the cook was exceptional ! ! !
It was very pheasant. Waiter was professional and efficient but not very personable. Not a criticism just an observation
Great: service and food. Glad to see they are open again!
Usually service is excellent. This was good.
Food was lukewarm. Live music was great. Service not great.
Great outside dining ambience, good menu options and wonderful service.
The prior chef was much better - my tuna nicoise salad was drenched in dressing and looked like a mess. - the tuna was placed on the side - the last chef had the plate presented so beautifully and everything was delicious. The other meals were good.
The main problem was that most people were not wearing masks! It was very disturbing that they were not following the COVID regulations. The hostess said guests did not require masks after being seated. NOT TRUE!
Reservation was for 7:30. Not seated until 8:00 PM. Too many people standing around waiting to be seated not 6 feet apart. Food was fine. Service was fine. It was a bit cold outside even with the heaters. But it’s February so that’s to be expected
Wonderful dining experience! A bit pricey, especially the wine. Still, love this place!
Solid as always. Thank you Left Bank crew
Restaurant didn't even call to cancel my reservation since they ate close for dinning on December 24th.!!! Bad business practice.
Despite dining during the time of COVID, I felt very safe (masks abound, generous table spacing). The outdoor heater was just enough to stay comfortable while enjoying drinks, appetizers (toast with pate), and dinner (duck), all of which were wonderful. The staff were all very welcoming.
Only complaint is that the heaters weren’t that warm
It was good, but the heaters didn't do much.
It was a cold night.
Food was bad, I ordered the steak and egg, the steak was so dry and not fresh at all. Services wasn't great this time, no one came and took our order (sigh).
Excellent french food! Will come back and highly recommended!
I had the steak frites with a salad verte. Delicious steak and the fries were awesome. I had profiteroles for dessert. Great meal.
Tasty French-based foods, but plenty on the menu for anyone to enjoy. Consistently good service by friendly staff. Daily Happy Hour menu includes a good offering of food and drink choices.
My husband and I chose a table outside and watched leaves falling from the trees. It was a beautiful scenery paired with relaxing music. The servers were very nice and attentive.
Great food and service, as always. Starting with cocktails, fresh baked breads, oysters and salad then a rare, tender and tasty steak with Roquefort butter and fries and Trout Amandine with green beans, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Bordeaux and Rose Wines and then Creme Brule.
We also felt Covid-safe as the indoor area tables were very widely spaced and the big windows were open.
Great restaurant! Make sure to go Friday nights at 6 for the fab music and yum food!
Excellent service and very good food, Outdoor seating was safe and comfortable.
Very good service and very, very, very good beef tartare
Overall was an excellent experience. Only negative was being seated outside next to a non-working heater and we were moved right away when we commented on the cold. Would and have recommended to other people.
Heaters don’t heat!!
Our waiter continued to forget us and our requests. We had oysters and two of the six were inedible. We order another half-dozen and the waiter charged us full cost for both oyster orders.....in the past the House has not charged us for the second order.
Great experience! The service was amazing and the manager was attentive and very welcoming. They made my friends birthday very special.
We have a great dinner at the Left Bank. We sat outside on the street which felt very festive since there are a number of other restaurants open along the same street and half of the street is blocked off to cars. There were plenty of lights and heaters. The service was excellent, the mussels were delicious and the halibut with root vegetables was also very good. This is my third dinner at the Left Bank and I will definitely return the next time I am in Menlo Par.
Having wanted to see and hear the jazz trio (Dumaine and Miller) weeks ago and made a mistake on the reservation, I made my reservation for this past Friday instead. I did not know this music trio was not going to be playing this weekend and when we arrived, we were seated on the side street not in the front where the music was playing. Since I made these reservations 2 weeks ago, I at least expected that much. Then the heater over our table kept going on and off and we kept being cold. Then, the service was okay but when the food came, it was just average and not very warm. I had such a wonderful time a few months ago when I came with my family and thorough enjoyed it that I invited my friend to come this weekend. While we had a nice visit, I do think it could have been better considering we planned so many weeks in advance. Plus, we had no idea what music was playing since nothing is on your website. That may have changed things for us too. We will probably return but hope to have a nicer experience than this one.
Their Happy Hour is really good. Decent wines for great price
Great food. Even though we had a reservation, had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Very pleasant, overall.
Their Covid set-up is great, the seating outside still has a lovely feel to . You are not surrounded by people but it doesn't feel like you are out in the street like some restaurants. They had just started inside dining but we chose to sit outside.
The food was great, especially the steak which was cooked to perfection and kept being stolen off my plate which is a good sign.
Food excellent. Service at beginning slow, however - long time to get something to drink
The Salad Lyonnaise and the seared tuna salads were delish.
A popular place. Service can be great and it can be bad. It was great the other night. Happy Hour is golden. Good wines for low price
