Just ordered appetizers and salads, but everything except the oysters were delicious. Oysters were ok, just not as good as some we had at a Japanese restaurant the night before. We are definitely coming back for a real dinner.
The food was with minor exceptions superb. Skirt steak was perfectly cooked, the asparagus was perfectly cooked - nice and crunchy, and only the French know how to cook French fries! Only two minor issues. The parprika hollandaise was pretty bland, and the pepper sauce on the steak was also bland. But the molten chocolate desert was over the top. I'd go back in a second.
Our server Steven was great! Super friendly and also good with our two kids, one of whom was celebrating a birthday. We also had a gluten-free diner and he was great in letting us know about what options would work. Plus food was delicious!
recommended by a friend - greatly disappointed. my wife commented it was the worst food in years.
her trout had no flavor. my ribeye steak was as tough as cowhide & lacking in flavor. the pastry in our
dessert was stale! the Stella draft was excellent as was an Oregon Sauvignon Blanc. never have I written
or could write a review that the food was so bad - honestly!
We loved the food and drinks at left bank. We celebrated our anniversary there last weekend and it was outstanding authentic French food.
The food and experience was great. Went for a family birthday and everyone enjoyed it.
We are thoroughly enjoying this restaurant once more.
On a rainy Friday, the restaurant was relatively quiet at lunch. I had a delicious grilled chicken sandwich with french fries. The special open-faced steak sandwich that my guest had looked good, but light on the steak. Service was excellent and the bright, light, open atmosphere of the restaurant is a very enjoyable place to spend some time.
too large,so too noisy..................=better with dividers?
eggplant was hard-to-bite..........=softer?
how about more French decor?
not much taste- food bland but presentable ................,...........
Great service and the food was excellent!
Great ambiance! I will highly recommend it!
I went to lunch at Left Bank with a friend--for my birthday. We both had the shrimp bisque, which was excellent. My friend had a nicoise salad, and I had the Q burger. Both were very good. The service was also very good. Left Bank is a very pleasant restaurant for lunch. I look forward to going there again when the weather is better and one can sit outside.
Cancelled my reservation without my knowledge and after I correct their mistake, there was no table for me when I arrived
I could not have black pepper on my food, because I'm sensitive to it. I had to give up one choice for another. When the fish was brought it looked like pepper was on it. I asked the waiter to check with the cook. He came back with no. Based on how I feel today, pepper was probably on it. Left Bank's staff needs to know the importance of food sensitivities and allergies. I will be uncomfortable for a few days, a person with a true allergy could die. On top of that my guest was given a coffee cup with lipstick on it. I do have to say the trout was very good. I'm not sure it is worth the discomfort I save today.
Our waiter was terrific but the restaurant was greatly understaffed. He did best he could, but delays were too long. We usually love this place and hope they solve this problem
Went to dinner with my family; wife had onion soup and a cheese burger, daughter had the ribeye and I had the roast chicken
Both of them said their food was good, but I was disappointed by the chicken. It was overcooked/dry and not very flavorful. It also had a taste that I associate with reheated food. I let it go during the meal, but menu price, tax, service, it was a $30 half chicken - it should have been a lot better.
The only issue was the tables are so close to each other ( tables for 2) it was uncomfortable. Bec if that I’m probably not going there again for 2.
This place has great service, awesome food and pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend everybody to give it a shot
Always perfect!! This is a neighborhood gem that serves comfort food!!
Have been here many times but this was really disappointing. The service was slow. The tables were crammed together so that I was hut in the back by a busboy with no apology and the waiter for the adjacent table had to lean into our table to serve the other table. And my dish was not cooked as requested and had to be sent back.
We sat in the back room it was almost too quiet. Oysters were great but no utensils. The escargot was served after we had just one oyster each. By the time we got to them they were cold. Waiter was sorry.
Jeannine salad was not dressed. My steak was cooked perfectly but came with wrong sauce. Correct sauce came in time for last bite.
This left Bank does not compare to the same one in Santana Row. We will not go back
Great overall experience! It was a special birthday dinner,
Everyone enjoyed their meal
Always excellent and consistently 5 stars in all categories - we love dining here!
Wish your steak tartare was a larger portion. Why don"t you offer two sizes and two prices--one as an appetizer and one as an entree?
Food is very good, portion is ideal (not too big), so you have still place for dessert.
It was expensive, but worth every penny.
The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meals.
It was a bit noisy, however, but not to the point where it was a problem.
We look forward to going again.
The food was delicious, the environment was pleasant, and the service was excellent.
A very pleasant place to eat. The food was good, we were seated as our reservation said.
Waited for 20 minutes after our reservation time and still didn’t get seated. Decided to leave for a different restaurant. The hostesses were so kind about the situation but it was still a huge bummer and a waste of time. Really wish we could have tried the food!
They do an amazing job in making you feel back in Paris! The customer service is number one! Must order the fondue, escargot, and clamari for apatizers. For meals the braised lamb shank.
Always consistent quality, excellent service, attention to detail, and customer requests. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Came here for a team lunch and was very pleased. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and there was something to eat for everyone (even me, a picky eater). Prices were very reasonable, considering the quality of food. Loved the Parisian art in the dining hall as well. Will come back again!
Fantastic atmosphere for lively, fun dinner. Authentic French food preparation, escargot and coq a vin were perfect. Great experience!
We were seated (table for 2) very close to the next occupied table for two when there were at least two open tables the same size just to our left, and another 3 open tables for two behind us. It was so close that we had to listen to this couple's conversation about cocaine laced drunken parties, them chastising each other about needing to "shred" and the importance of "shredding" and how they shouldn't/wouldn't eat this or that and especially dessert. It was frankly depressing and kind of ruined my appetite.
My suggestion would be that when the restaurant is half empty, don't seat people on top of each other.
As always at the Left Bank, the food was excellent. The service was very good, with only one lapse which was quickly and efficiently corrected with the offer of the forgotten tea being free of charge. I love the Parisian atmosphere and many of the staff have been there for a long time - surely a sign of a happy workplace!
The room is very high ceilinged and gets a little echoey although this is more atmospheric than intrusive in conversation.
I have eaten there on more than 20 occasions over the years and the Left Bank will continue to be one of my favorite restaurants.
We met friends in the bar for drinks/wine and food. My wife tried the Lillet cocktail while opted for 3 red flight of French wines. We also sampled the sole French Rose on the wine list and a Malbec from Medoc. As it was happy hour (3 to 6:30 PM everyday) we odered some appetisers from the bar menu which are half portions from the regular appetizer menu. We sampled Calamari (lightly dusted rather than battered) which was excellent, the smoked salmon tarte, and the truffle parmesan frites along with escargot and the cheese fondue and the wild mushroom tarte. Everything was great, the server was very attentive even though by 5:30 the bar was very busy.
I’m a 15 year customer of Left Bank. Loved this place. The service is not what it used to be. Sad to see.
The food here can be uneven. Lunch was disappointing. Nicoise salad was absurdly overdressed, small, and looked totally different than it has in the past. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. This is a nice space and menu. I hope that they will attend to more consistency in both food and service.
