Our Salles Des Amis is a beautiful, private dining room, with sunny yellow walls, airy windows, warm mahogany accents and vividly colored French posters. Set-up however you wish—the room is large enough for a party of 35, yet intimate enough for a smaller group of 10 or 20.
Have a party bigger than 35? For 75 people or less, we close off the back half of the restaurant, the Grand Salon. The Grand Salon & Salles de Amis opened up as one large room is the perfect space for a larger group.

Left Bank Larkspur Ratings and Reviews
If I make a reservation for a birthday lunch I don’t want to be shoved in the back space next to the restaurant manager having a very loud business meeting. Felt like a poor stepchild. We were the only 6 people back there and because of this our waiter consistently forgot about us. Please manage your table seatings better!
Left Bank is always great. You can depend on it. The only issue is how crowded it gets, at the Bar and at tables that are very close to each other. A little more spacing would be worth higher prices. Even though it's not inexpensive now.
Food is always wonderful, and the service is attentive once you show you'd like that.
We had early dinner and were given choice of seating ( stay away from door: too chilly). We had a new to the game waitperson. However, he made up for his lack of specific food preparation and spirit list by asking his peers. Acme bread was served- the best! Corpse Reviver #2 was ordered and was perfect. We split the house pate, generous for $8 and the endive Roquefort salad. Both were excellent! Wife had perfectly prepared rare burger with grilled onions on a substitute softer bread and I had the highly rated medium rare duck Brest with orange balsamic sauce accompanied with wild rice and al dented string beans -what a treat. We finished with a scoop of Cabernet sorbet and the canele with vanilla sauce. ½ the burger went home. The advantage is substitutes offered as food is cooked to order. Great experience!
Restaurant was busy and service was very slow. We were seated pretty much on time for our 7:30 reservation but because our waiter was not very attentive and getting our food took a long time, we did not leave until after 10 PM. There was a large group in the party room next to us, so it was very noisy. The food was good, though, and our party of six enjoyed the meal.
We were the first guests there in the morning and they sat us 2 tables from the door. We did not notice until we were served and they began opening the door to serve the people outside about every 5 minutes. This was noisy and a gust of cold air hit me every time the door opened. My friend specifically asked and made very clear that scrambled egg yolks were firm and they were served runny. I asked for tomato juice and the waiter offered me 3 versions and I said plain and he confirmed this. The tomato juice came out spicy like a virgin marry.
We were there for a fun and festive NYE dinner. They had a live band, complete with an accordion and two vocalists, which set the mood. Many couples got up to dance in between courses. The $75 prix fixe tasting menu included 4 courses and a glass of champagne. I thought all my dishes were quite good. The butternut squash with the lobster was a tad undercooked, and my husband felt he has had better moules frites, but overall we were pleased with our meal and would recommend it to others for NYE.
I and my companion have been here before and it has always been excellent. This particular night was very busy, food was mediocre and the service from our waiter was poor. We had to ask another waiter for sugar and spoon for my coffee and he brought it with a smile. But our waiter was bad. We had to ask for bread, ask for sugar/teaspoon for coffee and there was no smile, thank you or anything.
The hostess was not helpful, when I arrived (5 mins before reservation time) the table was not ready - the only place I could sit was on a bench outside the restaurant and it was a cold night. I could have been offered a seat by the outdoor heaters as there were vacant tables.
I will probably go back because I have been there before and had good experience but not on a holiday.
The Left Bank in Larkspur is a gem . It is unique situated in a historic building with a picture perfect dining room and fun outdoor seating . The room is decorated and festive for the season . It is a fun people filled place and very welcoming . Excellent service and all feel welcome and part of the scene. The food is French and very good :I like the salad vert, escargot: frites . And all entrees are very substantial and good ! Missing Paris ? Pop into Left Bank Larkspur .
It’s a nice neighborhood spot but we always feel like it’s the location and not the food that keeps us coming. Had the pasta dish, very very disappointed, very little flavor, and not much there to be at a restaurant ofnthis caliber. Others had duck l’orange and I think the ribeye special which were good. The menu really needs some updating and changing around. The atmosphere was festive but it was so incredibly loud, it made for a difficult evening to converse for a special occasion.
