Delicious, reasonably priced French bistro. Very enjoyable atmosphere.
Left Bank is truly a Larkspur treasure. It just never ceases to disappoint! They were able to accommodate our group of 12 outside on the patio for a fabulous birthday luncheon (we booked two weeks in advance). Our waiter was charming, attentive and knowledgeable. Everyone raved about their delectable appetizers and entrees, unbelievable niçoise salads, and delicious desserts. To top it off, the bubbles and rosé were both divine. Merci beaucoup!
Good carrot-ginger soup, but dry and tasteless pork loin. So nothing special from the kitchen but a good atmosphere for everyday meals.
Great place for casual meet up with friends. Indoor and outdoor options. Staff great in handling special needs.
We had lunch on Father's Day, and the restaurant was busy, so maybe we did not get the restaurant on the best day. But overall I was disappointed. It took a bit long to order our food, longer to receive our drinks, and far too long to receive our food. The waitstaff did refilling the water bottle at our table, which made me happy! When our food did come, it was OK-- the so-called gourmet tartine was not particularly interesting or "gourmet". The nicoise salad with tuna confit was good except for the fact that there was a big piece of flabby tuna skin in the confit. The highlight of the meal were the parmesan truffle fries. I would probably explore a new restaurant before coming here again.
This is a favorite restaurant for Sunday brunch and lunch. On holidays (we went on Father's Day) service slows down greatly which is very disappointing particularly when the restaurant can plan ahead but doesn't seem to have enough servers or cooking staff working those days.
A couple of dishes missed the mark, but service was good and the atmosphere delightful. Will definitely return.
Pretty good food. Good products.
Pretty disappointed with the bread though...strange coming from a french restaurant.
A bit expensive for what you get but service is A+
Kevin and Yuri are marvelous hosts and managers and the staff is always attentive to details. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant!
Friday night at the Left Bank. Nice start to the weekend!
Food was awesome... my only complaint is ... they really should split the salad for us!
Ordered tuna salad..no tuna.. ordered crab salad ..no crab.. ordered onion soup ..over cooked..
Lovely spot especially on a warm nite/ they seem under staffed as one is often ignored by the main wait person so do not arrive hungry . Food is fine but has gone downhill & become less French and more generic . It needs to move back to original intension.
Always consistently good food and great atmosphere.
Always love to have Mika or Ilya wait on us.
The boulliabase and the salad vert were wonderful as was the carrot soup. The skirt steak used in the steak frites was tough and nearly unchewable. It was selected because the alternative rib eye was just too big ( 10 oz.), but a better cut (or a better chef) is definitely required in lieu of skirt. The beer choices appear to be limited as when anchor steam was sold out the other on offer was Sierra Nevada?!
The back room is nice and preferable-not as noisy as the front/bar on a busy Sat night. The atmosphere and service are excellent.
We arranged for a private room for a high school graduation luncheon. Managers Norah and Yuri were incredibly helpful in selecting a menu and working with me on room set-up and decorations. The luncheon was flawless! Our server Brendon was delightful and very sensitive to making me and all of our guests quite comfortable. I very highly recommend particularly if you have a need for a private room. It was a fabulous event!
Best service in a while! Great food on the patio!
Love your dog friendly ambience!
Service was excellent and the best burger!
As good a French Bistro meal as you’ll find in the United States.
Excellent experience; great service with marvelous server; food superb!
We were a bit disappointed, the service was a bit slow, the food was good but not great.
Pork chop was like eating a piece of wood, even a steak knife had problems cutting it.
The waiter took our order (he didn't know what side dishes came with the entrees) and then never returned to the table until I asked another waitress to ask him for our check. He spent the majority of our meal time chatting up his female manager in a back hall.
Not one of our better meals there. Three of the four of us ordered the trout which, for a French restaurant, was surprisingly bland. Very little taste of the brown butter in which it was supposedly cooked.
In light of our previous experiences and a waiter who gave us superb service, we'll give it another try another main course.
An authentic French restaurant with great ingredients and preparation.
Very nice surroundings...country French style. Great waiter and good food. Calamari was particularly good.
Such a lovely brunch at an outdoor cafe with perfectly cooked eggs and a Ramos gin fizz !
After seeing a French film, we felt like having French food. Left Bank was the perfect choice for a casual night out with my husband. We booked a bar table and each ordered our favorite dishes. For my husband, it's always the French onion soup, a salad, and an order of frites. For me it's almost always their moules florentine. They have great drinks as well and the service that night was excellent. We ate at 8:30 which is on the later side for Marin but the restaurant was still lively. It's one of our favorite dependable local places.
Great food great service good company
The food was average and the service team was weak. Left Bank needs to up their game !!
Left Bank always serves good food but I'd never go back on a Saturday night. It was so loud inside the restaurant that I could hardly hear my companions at our table for four. We were early and our table was delayed anyway, so we were seated alongside the bar--and people at the bar were standing right next to our table--not the most elegant atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the desserts were excellent. My ribeye steak was barely over an inch thick, and I would have preferred a less wide/long cut with more thickness--it would have been juicier.
I think a very early supper before the crowd comes, or lunch, is the best way to experience Left Bank!
This has been a favorite dining place for us for years. We have had special events there, introduced friends, and enjoyed many brunches, lunches and dinners. The staff is so attentive and wonderful. It is busy so be sure to make reservations. Eating on the patio is lovely during the summer and fall.
Very good food - and Excellent service! We were changed to a quieter table without any problem.
Our Waiter Alejandro was spot on with his recommendation for our wine tonight. A 2013 Thumbprint Cab. Perfect balance , nice tannins, , forward fruit with a nice back palate feel. Dinner was wonderful. I had a beautiful Rib eye and my companion had a delicious Bouillabaisse dish.
Always satisfied having dinner or drinks @ Left Bank.
Staff caters to your every need. This was my fourth visit and it never disappoints.
Like being in Paris, only with even better servic! Superb wait staff, especially Cara and Brendan.
The Mother's Day prix fixe dinner menu and the option for selecting additional items a la carte was not clearly communicated on the website and by staff people via phone prior to Mother's Day. And as usual, some of the prix fixe items were "sold out" by the time we sat down for dinner. This caused some confusion but the restaurant manager handled it well and was very accommodating.
A little rushed and not very good value for the price fixe.
Thank you for making Mother's Day special
The food is good but the restaurant is very noisy so difficult to have a conversation. Also very busy so that the service is haphazard.
First time diners, we enjoyed the Dodd and the service! We will definitely return.
