FRENCH ONION SOUP
brown butter, roasted almonds, green beans
seared Ahi, egg, haricots verts, olives
It's a little noisy being on the sidewalk but we wanted to be there. The service was great, cocktails were great, the food was very good. will be back.
The reception was awful. We had reservations and were maybe 5 minutes early -- a rather rude receptionist told us we had to wait outside.
A wonderful waitress made it eventually a pleasant experience -- eventually.
If you don't mind a rude beginning and a pleasant ending, go there.
Excellent choice. Food quality has slipped a bit since pre-pandemic but everything in the whole world has slipped since pre-pandemic. So glad they are open! We will go back soon.
Was a lovely mother's day meal. My wife and mother-in-law both enjoyed themselves and food was great!
It was Mother's Day and my mother and I took advantage of the four course prix fixe dinner for $88 / per person, does not include beverages. Everything was delicious and they had each course arrive in nice timing - not rushed and not too long in between. They had nice, live acoustic music which was the perfect background for the holiday. For two people, our bill was fairly high at $210 not including tip, and no alcoholic beverages. That is why value was the only category where I didn't give 5 stars. That said, it was a lovely experience and all of the food was very good so I chalk it up to paying a holiday premium.
Food was off. Service was off.
Always a treat !
Meh. Patio is right on the road so it’s a constant stream of cars. I thought the food was nice, but poor value. Salade Nicoise is good, mussels just ok. A better French lunch can be had at Le Garage in Sausalito.
Food is very overpriced now from the many times we have eaten here over the years before. Our blue cheese bacon burger was overcooked, even tho we ordered medium rare, bacon looked like it had been cooked hours earlier, and hard to find the blue cheese. Staff was very nice and courteous, but the minimal menu offerings and the disappointment in the selection we chose tells us we must wait longer to return to get back to the full menu at respectable prices. That prices have been highly hiked and selections limited, did not allow a good experience. For now, would not recommend Left Bank to others.
Always a tried and true. And the martinis never disappoint
I adore this haunt. The service is great and the food never disappoints.
I love dining out on the terrace at Left Bank, it makes me feel like I am in France.
This is a great spot traditional semi French cuisine : beautiful setting in downtown Latkspur 🫐 and welcoming caring staff
Thank you for the kind review - We love the beautiful historic town of Larkspur as well and we appreciate you letting us be of service - Thank you and hope to see you soon!!!
This is a French bistrot as it exists in your imagination and not so easy to find in France anymore, from the ambience and the menu to the food, which was a great example of the genre. Every component of the steak frites was perfect, and so was the trout almandine. The only drawback was the time it took for the waiter to come to take our drink orders, but the service was friendly and timely from there on. So, good to get in the right mood and keep the American impatience at bay. It's not cheap but worth every penny.
Thank you so much for the tremendous review - We appreciate you and our neighborhood - hope to see you soon!!!
One of our favorites. Steak frites and Profitiroles.
The French Onion Soup was delicious. I had to have the Pom Fretes, they’re always delicious. I tried a drink that was called the “Bees Knees” and that to was just perfect. The staff was sweet and got our orders correct and to us in no time at all. It was my first time indoors at a restaurant and you made the experience a positive on......I will be back!
We frequent the Santana row often so we ordered are usuals at the Larkspur location. Unfortunately it was not up to par. The old fashion has bud chunks of sugar cubes on the bottom, it was not muddled/dissolved/blended in. The mussels were undercooked and had to be sent back for fully cooked mussels.
We may consider giving it another try since we like the area.
Food was very good. We sat inside and were seated and served with friendly staff. Recommend the trout.
I have been a local customer here for several decades, and this last experience was notably disappointing because of the quality of service we received from the host. As always, I made a reservation specifically requesting an outside table. The host abruptly made up a bs excuse and said it didn’t matter that the reservation I had made the week prior was outside, too bad he only had a table for us inside or nothing-we wouldn’t be having lunch there. As I was entertaining a special friend who just recovered from breast cancer, I was very concerned but did not want to make a disturbance and embarrass her. She said it was okay and we sat inside, even though there were many (not one or two) but SEVERAL empty tables outside. The worst part, which prompted this review, is that when I was finished with my lunch and while my friend was still eating, the tables outside that were directly in our view had remained empty the entire time and the host had the audacity to come up to the table and ask if we wanted to go sit at one of those tables. Excuse me....no thank you. We were just finishing our meals and it felt totally unthoughtful and plain old crazy for the host to try and backpedal now.
Again, I made a reservation a week prior for an outside table and he rudely and with no graciousness did not recognize or care about this fact. So now I’ll be going somewhere else to entertain and meet my friends at lunch. Really disappointing service, and the handling of the table seating situation was poorly executed with little tact or consideration.
One guest loved your lamb sandwich from the past. With the new menu, it appears this is no longer available. I know if you do bring it back, one person would be very happy!!
Everything was wonderful and it was the first time for the six of us to meet and eat together in more than a year.
We somewhat regularly go here for events and dinners. This dinner was our 36th wedding aniversary and my wife grew up in Marin and we have lived in the Ross Valley for 32 years.
We know the Left Bank is consistently excellent an an awesome go to in Marin. The server was very good overall. DF
We have dined at The Left Bank since 1995 and have always enjoy very good dining. The food and surrounding are excellent. Ivan
Left Bank has done a great job creating a safe and easy parklet on the side street of their restaurant. It was built up along the street and it is decorated like a cable car. The food has been excellent and the service top notch.
I would always recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food had a bland taste maybe needed some salt. Service was fine.
Love their onion soup... smaller menu now due to Covid, but that could change.
Great place to have a leisurely lunch. Wait staff was very attentive and Yisby was so pleasant.
Delicious always! Great service & a fun place to enjoy our meals.
Very passionate and honest staff in terms what wines and dishes they like...always appreciate knowing what the waitstaff thinks!
Very poor service, food quality deteriorated since 2019. Noisy. So sad. I used to love this place!
Great food and even better service!
Was great to be back at one of our favorite spots. Food was reliably excellent an liked that they've freshened and added to their standard menu. Service was attentive and warm even though the place was full and appeared to be short-staffed. Try the new lamb dish!
Host packed the dining room with customers and left tables outside infilled regardless of guest request. Also, no mask enforcement of diners who got up maskless from tables to answer phone calls or use restroom. My guest and I felt very unsafe eating lunch at this establishment last week.
very solid French food in bistro atmosphere.
Sunny day outside.
Paris without the jet lag
Great food & most importantly great service! The salad niçoise & French fries is the most fun meal and champagne to wash it all down...excellent!
Wonderful service and meal!
I needed home cooking tonight. A warm culinary hug. I got it with the Beef Bourginon. It’s a pricey meal, but worth every penny! Delicious! This is my go-to single gal patio. Love it!
Lovely as usual. Very diligent about Covid regulations and server was attentive. Always have the mussels, which I love here.
We had a charcuterie plate to die for, good wine as well as a delicious pasta dish for myself and a lovely sausage dish for my partner. Highly recommended!!!
