Our Salles Des Amis is a beautiful, private dining room, with sunny yellow walls, airy windows, warm mahogany accents and vividly colored French posters. Set-up however you wish—the room is large enough for a party of 35, yet intimate enough for a smaller group of 10 or 20.
Have a party bigger than 35? For 75 people or less, we close off the back half of the restaurant, the Grand Salon. The Grand Salon & Salles de Amis opened up as one large room is the perfect space for a larger group.

Left Bank Larkspur Ratings and Reviews
It’s a nice neighborhood spot but we always feel like it’s the location and not the food that keeps us coming. Had the pasta dish, very very disappointed, very little flavor, and not much there to be at a restaurant ofnthis caliber. Others had duck l’orange and I think the ribeye special which were good. The menu really needs some updating and changing around. The atmosphere was festive but it was so incredibly loud, it made for a difficult evening to converse for a special occasion.
I am a frequent diner in this restaurant. I was very disappointed in our service on this particular day. Our server was the bartender who tended bar more than us. We had to call him to our table when e had a request. He did not ask if we wanted more coffee. And it was a birthday lunch that was not acknowledged. All very dusappiinting
My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner at Left Bank. The meal was delicious AND traditional. Squash soup- delicious, fuyu persimmon salad - very tasty, turkey (both white and dark meat) - beautifully cooked with stuffing, cranberry sauce and brussels sprouts with bacon. And topped off by pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I expected the food to be delicious, but I wasn't sure if the French influence might subdue the American tradition. It only made it better!!
i was disappointed in my Sancerre, my children felt their cocktails on the weak side.
the persimmon salad was definitely on the smallish side, it seemed maybe the kitchen was
running out of ingredients. the highlight of the meal was the pumpkin pie as i felt it was
The noise in the back room was UNBEARABLE! it made for a miserable evening- it was hot and extremely noisy. I think I would feel differently if we ate in the front part of the restaurant. The food was good, the service was SLOW, and the noise made the overall experience unpleasant.
There was a bit of a mix up on who was supposed to serve our table, and as a result it took a while before anyone talked to us. The service got better once that was resolved. The food was good, but it really feels like the food has devolved a bit over the years. The duck was fantastic, but the salads and French onion soups was only ok.
The waiter was excellent. His helpers not so much. Escargots were disappointing because they were very bland. No garlic, and we had to add salt. The profiteroles for dessert were also dissapointing because they used milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate. And that in a french restaurant. The rest was good and we had a good time anyway.
Our event was for me (the mom) to celebrate my youngest’s 33rd birthday together with her older sister. It was a fun, special place for the three of us to laugh and play together while having a brunch cocktail and eat delicious food. They even presented the birthday girl with a special ice cream popover with chocolate and a candle. Good value for the price.
It was a delightful lunch. I had the mussels which were cooked to perfection. My friend had the soup of the day (tomato bisque) and a salad which must have been good because his plates were were cleaned! Our waiter and the busboy were very attentive - just perfect. We both commented on how enjoyable it is there. Will be back for sure!!
Glad we didn't have to stick with our first impression: the service was initially a little odd (party at an adjacent table arrived after we did but was assisted long before we were, and all THREE items ordered a la carte were presented to one diner simultaneously, which seemed odd) but our server eventually warmed to us and became more attentive. We were quite happy with our menu choices and with the quality of the fare -- the mushroom soup in particular was memorably good -- and with the restaurant generally. Would go again.
The food was horrible. I ordered risotto with duck confit. What arrived was a plate of mushy rice, topped with dried out burnt bits of duck. I can’t believe that chef would let a dish like that leave the kitchen. It was nothing short of appalling. I am very disappointed to see a long time favorite restaurant, no longer being reliable or consistent. Tant pis pour moi.
As a Frenchman I tend to be a bit obnoxious with food; added to that, the fact that I spent about 10 yrs in the restaurant business, both as a cook and as a server. The Left Bank is a great place to eat, both on the outside terrace or inside. On my last visit, for brunch, the "moules florentine" were fabulous. the eggs benedict were nice. The presentation on the eggs could have been improved... Too many things on the plate (eggs with hollandaise; oven roasted potatoes; salad, a container of ketchup and another of strawberries). I was not expecting a four-course meal, but it would have been nice to have the salad on a separate plate for a special touch of French aesthetics (and ketchup? really? next to my hollandaise?). But I'll come back -- again and again, for sure.
Left Bank is one of our favorites because the food and service are consistently excellent. We had 8:00 pm reservations and were seated promptly at 8:00 despite every table in the restaurant being filled and the special occasion rooms in the far back also being fully in use. The noise level was extraordinarily loud due to the restaurant’s full capacity. Still, our orders arrived in a timely fashion and perfectly prepared. All special requests we’re cheerfully handled.
The oysters were fantastic. The steak (both sizes and types) were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the pork chop was moist and flavorful, and the salads were fresh and flavorful.
Awesome food, a little chilly at an inside table by the window (Fall evening) without the fire going in the fireplace. The wine selection and wait staff were amazing. I used to eat lunch here all the time when I worked in Larkspur, now I'm going to add this to my "dinner out" rotation.
Disappointing. Ordered glasses of wine . Instead they immediately served our soup course and we had to ask for the wine to be served first and sent the soup back to kitchen. Have been here many times,. Perhaps there are new people in the kitchen, but food was bland. Onion soup had very little flavor and broth for mussels wasn't even worth soaking up with bread. Definitely an off night.
There were six of us celebrating a friend's birthday, and we were happy to have a round table where we could all see and hear each other. The mussels were particularly outstanding - large, plump, juicy, and tender. We all ordered affrogato for dessert. It was served with the espresso in separate containers, so we could pour it on the ice cream ourselves and not have the ice cream melt too fast.
This is usually a special place with friendly caring service and good but not Michelin Star food .
We had a poor uncaring wait person : she was just brisk : pushed us to order even though we were having a drink and appetizer .. left the drinks standing at bar : served us all at varying times : just quite awlful & confused woman ... she disappeared as we completed the meal and some upbeat kind staff appeared . I usually eat lunch here and the staff is great and I love the lamb sandwich which is no longer on the dinner menu .
Food was good; nice variety on the menu but nothing special for a French restaurant.
Service was outstanding, as were the drinks and the wine list.
My problem with the restaurant was the noise level. It's just ridiculous. You need to shout across a table to be heard. Not relaxing at all. Sorry.
This restaurant has been one of our favorites but it is going through a difficult patch right now. After a very long wait (45 minutes+), we received both our salads and our entrees at the same time. A few of our entrees were luke warm at best and the onion soup, which is usually quite tasty, was bland. Some servers were rough in how they handled dishes .
The manager was sincerely concerned and listened to our comments and reduced our check amount.
I hope this restaurant works the kinks out because I want this restaurant to come back and be the excellant place to dine as it has been in the past .
