Left Bank is an authentic Parisian-style brasserie located in the historic Blue Rock Inn in charming downtown Larkspur. Built in 1895 during the railroad era, The Blue Rock Inn was a popular weekend destination for San Franciscans to come dance and picnic under the stars.

Open since 1994, Left Bank continues to be a destination for folks from all over the Bay Area to enjoy a casual snack on the sunny terrace, a glass of wine or hand crafted cocktail at the lively bar, or an elegant dining experience near the fireplace. At Left Bank, you are sure to capture the true feeling of the Rive Gauche in Paris.

Twenty three years of working with local organic farms allows us to bring you the best seasonal ingredients available. Our Chef de Cuisine offers an often changing, French brasserie menu of hearty, rustic, and authentic dishes featuring a diverse selection of natural meats, sustainable seafood, fresh local vegetables, salads and sumptuous desserts.

Our Salles Des Amis is a beautiful, private dining room, with sunny yellow walls, airy windows, warm mahogany accents and vividly colored French posters. Set-up however you wish—the room is large enough for a party of 35, yet intimate enough for a smaller group of 10 or 20.

Have a party bigger than 35? For 75 people or less, we close off the back half of the restaurant, the Grand Salon. The Grand Salon & Salles de Amis opened up as one large room is the perfect space for a larger group.

We were very happy with our first visit to Left Bank. Our meal was as expected, well prepared and everyone was very friendly. Brenden was our server and he was amazing.; personable, funny, knowledgeable and professional. We dine out frequently and travel substantially and have never met a server with Brenden’s passionate energy and clear love of his role representing Left Bank. We love Larkspur and we will definitely be back to Left Bank and to see Brenden.

I hate restaurants that pretend to be fine dining for pricing, but don’t hold their kitchen staff and servers to the standards worthy of those prices. I will never go here again.

Once the Open Table reservation hassle was handled, due to the fact that reservation turned out to be for outside on a cold Valentine's Day night, there was never any indication on the reservation email sent to us. However after a slight wait, The Left Bank staff rectified this issue. The meal however, was truly wonderful and the rest of the evening was great. Thank you!

We had a great meal for Valentine's Day! Good food and ambiance. They did run out of some of the options on the prix fixe dinner which was disappointing, but they bent over backwards to accommodate us.

I was greatly impressed by the reception. Our reservation was for the outside dining, which is great for the summer but chilly for late Winter early Spring. They were able to find a table in doors, which was greatly appreciated.

If only I had studied in French class!! A wonderful Sunday brunch, complete with flexible hosting (late ferry at Larkspur Landing) ... impeccable service, thank you Mira!! The fondue for an appetizer? Perfect — all downhill from there. Enjoy life, enjoy your company, enjoy your meal ... The Left Bank is the place to enjoy it all!! Merci.

Everything was great but the noise level in the back eating area was so loud as to be painful to talk. Sit outside or in front area.

First of all, our server was great. We started with a Pastis, which was a nice apertif choice. The ]Our server understood presentation. Fondue starter was good. One of us had duck, the other Trout - both were okay. One of us had the creme brulee and the other an affogato type of dessert - both okay. Suggested wine choices were good. Service = great. Food = okay.

A restaurant which has persevered for many years. Wait staff appeared quickly and were attentive. Both our orders were wonderful, the salad Nicoise and the ribeye which was cooked just as ordered.

I haven't had the pleasure of having much French food in my life but my mom has been really eager for some for awhile so I figured she deserved a French meal after all the support she has been giving me. I was in for a shock when we ate here because it was one of the best meals I've had. From the yummy butter served with the starter bread to the utterly delicious cheese we had (that came with these toasted bread slices, sweet apples and toasted walnuts) to the main meal of Duck a la orange and risotto for mom and a roasted half a chicken with duck fat cooked fingerling potatoes for me to the divine dessert of profiteroles. Then there was the great service and lovely interior of the restaurant where you have the choice of outdoor seating, bar seating or standard seating. I typically cant eat a lot at one seating but I didn't leave much behind on my plate which speaks to how good the chef is there. I hope to definitely go back there for another meal and have already started recommending it to friends, family and associates. Plus as my mom said you know its good French food when there are so many French people eating there. She also said it was the best French meal she has eaten and that says. something considering she has had a few before. They even got us in last minute. Highly highly recommend!!!!!

I've been here many times but this past time I had poor service. They didn't get our order correct, and it took a very long time for our waitress to come ask for our order.

Food excellent as always. Just not enough staff to handle the crowds. Our waiter was clearly in over his head, however, he had too many table to handle and not enough help. One of our party of seven had to wait until all of us had eaten to get her dish redone. Still one of our favorite spots, but not sure I would go on a Saturday night if staffing issues are not addressed.

In a word. Lackadaisical.

We were back here to utilize a gift card given by the restaurant yo make up for its prior service issues.

There were three of us for lunch with the place perhaps 40% full (or one might say 60% empty).

Well, Left Bank is one of my most frequented restaurants because it's very close and sometimes good---sometimes mediocre. Today, it was mediocre. I ordered a simple omelette and it took over 20 minutes to deliver it. There was hardly anybody in the restaurant so I figured the cook just took a nap. The omelette was OK, nothing special.

My son’s birthday dinner was perfect. The steak frites was cooked to perfection. The special mini crab cake special was tasty. And the candle in the dessert ended the night with a smile on his face. Excellent place for special occasions but also a perfect place for everyday dining. I’m looking forward to the patio in the spring and summer. Cheers! Well done!

It was my first visit, and I can’t wait to return with every friend I have! The food was delicious, well priced house wine choices, the service excellent, the ambiance just lovely, and easy breezy parking. All of that at a very fair price. A real winner of a restaurant. Thanks for being such a great place for my friend’s birthday.
