Lebanese Taverna - Washington DC

Good food. Shawerma sandwich fell apart...luckily we had other bread at table and I was able to rec construct my shawerma... please stop putting lettuce in a shawema...it doesn't belong.
Loved the Taverna! It was the 2nd time I'd been there. This time there were 3 of us, and we ordered 4 mezze to share, which was plenty. The server was helpful to us in deciding a wine, bringing us a taste of those we were considering. We didn't see a lot of him, it was very busy, but we didn't need him so that was fine. The food is excellent. The hummus was super smooth, the bread "pillows" they brought us were fresh out of the over and absolutely delicious. We also had Shrimp Arak (outstanding!) and mousaka (also very good). I highly recommend this place.
Great place! This was walking distance from our hotel and I'm glad I made reservations. There was a line just a few minutes after we were seated. The food and service was excellent. My husband and I started with the chicken samosas and my two friends started with the hommus trio. Both were great. All three of my dinner mates had the mixed kebabs and I had the Fatteh (lamb). If I have any complaint, it's that I couldn't finish it. Nearly miserably full, we still ordered dessert and the bread pudding was outstanding. Not too sweet. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Far too noisy for our group. Also, restaurant could not find my reservation. Why is this a recurring
Awesome food and service!
Great food, great service, and amazing ambiance. Definitely try the falafel sliders and classic hummus!
Always try to eat here on trips to Washington, DC. It never disappoints!
Such delicious food
We are trying to get in again tonight!
Thank you Habibs
The food was great. Tried several new things as well as old favorites and all were wonderful. We went for dinner before walking up to the zoo a few blocks away.
My curry was fantastic. Bread was so good, we couldn't stop eating it.
Delightful mezze and meals, excellent Lebanese tea, and desserts to die for!
As always, you can rely on getting authentic Middle Eastern food, well prepared and presented. The portions are very generous and the selection of appetizers and main courses is large. Items of note were the Babaganoush, calamari and the hummus. The lamb and the bronzino dishes were superb. We are looking forward to returning.
Chicken shearami I was dry and tasteless my friend took it home for her dog .
The baba ganoosh was good as was the hummus but the rest was awful
Waiter was unnecessarily rude. I think he hoped we ordered more food and alcoholic drinks. We spend $150 plus tip for 3 adults and 2 children.
Food took forever but once we did get it it was good
Excellent! We really enjoyed the food and the ambiance.
Flat and wooden service - somewhat unfriendly and definitely inattentive. Food adequate but taste did not align with price. We were served dessert on coffee saucers rather than dessert plates. Did not compare well to Tyson’s. Only saw men working here.
Family-owned restaurant chain in the area. Food is fresh and delicious, and staff is super friendly!
Great food and staff.
Food , people , staff , place , drinks , personal service in all the best. The only problem was the time after you get service the waiter Never came back. Not sure if they where under staff but I had to order from different people. But by all means the Retaurant and food in all the best ever.
Great meal, love the hummus trio!!
When the noise level is so great that it's difficult to carry on a luncheon conversation, one does not classify it as "energetic." Get real. How about "ridiculously loud?" ...which, of course, impacts the overall experience. Won't be back.
Amazing food! Loved the hummus.
What a treat to find this restaurant. We were visiting Baltimore from Florida to attend a wedding. The Taverna was within a nice walk from our hotel. The server was outstanding and the food exceeded our expectations.
Great food and full bar. Noise level allowed conversation in a happy hour type of feel.
Always reliable. Great food, lots of choices and very attentive and accommodating service.
Good food and good service, but noisy. Would go again, but not on an occasion where I wanted to have much conversation with those who came with me.
it is easy for people at meetings at the Wardman and that is the best feature. Nearby. I loved the LEbanese taverna in BEthesda, but it must have closed. the food was OK, just not exceptional.
We were a group of five friends who had not met for one year and, unfortunately, the noise level was much too loud for us to have a conversation ... I was disappointed with my vegetarian dish which had stayed much too long under an heating lamp ... how can you miss eggplant and feta cheese?????
One of my worst experiences at LT, which used to be a favorite, and on my birthday too!!!
Horrible service, clearly understaffed, 20 minutes to take orders, another 20 to remove dishes, never cleaned table, and another 20 to take dessert orders. For a large group, food arrived uneavenly. I finished my appetizers before anyone else got theirs.
No one was happy. Too bad.
My two sisters and I took our families here for dinner when were in DC over the weekend and it was fabulous! There was something for everyone-- even my picky 10-year-old who has Celiacs. The baba ganoush, hummas and pita were especially amazing.
Wonderful food. Helpful staff. The atmosphere was lovely and we all loved the sangria.
Good service, nicely decorated, noise level fine—they just ignore quality cooking. This used to be a favorite. Disappointed.
Food was decent however the service was bad. Sent us the wrong dish and the drink was terrible (I had bubble sangria).
I ordered the Taverna salad with lamb kabob. Salad was about 90% lettuce, lamb kabob was good just 4 small chunks. Salad was a ripoff and boring.
Great food, nice decor but fairly loud. We enjoy the chance to refill our Lebanese food craving.
This used to be a great place but the menu has changed over the years and seems to only cater to the hotel crowds. It is an Americanized Lebanese restaurant.
We love this gem of a restaurant. Great service, delicious, fresh food, and nice atmosphere. The fresh pita is fabulous, brought to the table warm. We ordered hummus to go with it. We had lamb, seafood, and eggplant dishes and everyone enjoyed their meals. Highly recommended.
This one one of the first restaurants I went to upon moving to DC 18 years ago. It has remained consistently one my favorites. The service and food have done nothing but improve over time. The best hummus in the universe. Do not hesitate to go.
Best middle eastern food I’ve ever had!
