Good place for a casual meal or get together. Good for vegetarians as well since there are quite a few good options. Food is nicely spiced without being "hot".
We have been eating at the several Lebanese Tavernas for years, and we always liked it. But this visit will be our last. The server was a disaster: spilling drinks at the table (and then sloshing around the liquid in a lame attempt to clean up), making faces when we ordered something he didn't seem to like, pushing me to have a drink and dessert when I said I wanted neither. And the food was not as good as it used to be. My falafel sandwich had dry, tasteless falafel, and my salad had very little flavor. With all the other choices in Bethesda, this will be our last time at Lebanese Taverna.
Good food, ambiance and service. A great place to get together with friends.
I usually finish off my Saturday morning errands by having lunch at an area restaurant. On this occasion, I decided on Bethesda's Lebanese Taverna. The ingredients are always very good, as is the preparation. The kibbeh nayeh (lamb tartare) is the best I have had in the area , as is the arnabeet (cauliflower). The list of wines by the glass isi limited, but it includes a very good sauvignon blanc and a very good shiraz priced at $10 and $9 respectively. Unfortunately, the service can be very good or very bad. On this day, the two servers who shared the duties were at the opposite ends of the spectrum. The first appeared sullen and uncommunicative, but the other was pleasant and engaged. Hence the three stars. I am not a fan of the dark walls, furniture, and flooring, but I love the tables by the large windows because there is so much natural light.
Terrible wait staff however the food was great as always
Perfect place for good food lovers, always top quality service and food! I can only recommend to locals and visitors!
The whole family, including the kids, always enjoy a good meal at Lebanese Taverna. It was Mother's Day, and we were lucky to get a large table. The yummy appetizers were served right away, and the service was excellent. I love hummus and pita bread; no one makes hummus and pita bread like Lebanese Taverna! I ordered the Shrimp Kabob, which was perfectly seasoned with garlic and lemon. My husband and son devoured the Mediterranean Sea Bass. In all, it was a delightful and satisfying dinner.
We have enjoyed eating at Lebanese Taverna over the years at several of their locations. The food is consistently delicious - well-seasoned, nicely presented, good quantity. We were celebrating Mother's Day as a family and each of us - adults and teenagers - was pleased with our selections.
The food is consistently very good.
Very much enjoyed my evening at Lebanese Taverna, but not because of the staff!
The host greeted us with a frown and silence. When we informed him of our booking (which we were on time for!) he let me know that I would have to wait until the 2 large groups of walk-ins in front of me were seated. Now I am patient but he did not care about my booking and kept us waiting over 15 minutes with no explanation or apology. Our waitress was miserable and rude. We did not feel we could ask her about the menu and she huffed and puffed because we were not ready to order when she wanted us to.
We enjoyed the food and company of our friends. I would return but not for a special occasion.
