Excelente restaurant Francés
Every things was Good
Loved being there with friends vacationing in Bar Harbor.
Best pate ever!
The service took a long time to get around to us and they sat us in a small table next to some type of wall box where they clearly shouldn’t have had a table. The man next to us complained to the manager that everyone who arrived after him had already received their food yet he had not. I had the mixed greens salad and it did not taste good at all.
Very good food
Great wine selection
We’ll be back
The food could be better. Not much taste. Pastas were soggy, not much taste. The aioli really needs improvement: warm vegetables, warm egg and warm shrimps is how it should be served, NOT cold!!!!! We come from Provence, so we know!!!!! The service was good and the new manager very attentive. Hope to see you next year. B
It is a pleasure having a French bistro serving delicious fare like French Onion Soup, Confit de Canard, Crème Brûlée and combos of shellfish towers. I feel like I’m in France.
Sitting outside under the canopy is delightful. The interior is well done in classic Brasserie style, also an option.
Service could be better more having to do with bus service. Water glasses were difficult to get refilled, as is bread and butter. More time seems to be paid removing dishes from in front of you as soon as you’ve taken your last bite and haven’t yet swallowed.
Other staff, reception, wait staff and manager all seem to be working diligent to make sure it’s a pleasant experience.
We enjoy it, and will continue to go hoping service improves.
Decent food, however with the steep price, one would expect better. The service left much to be desired *cough bread guy cough*. Ambiance is pretty cool though.
Messed up all the orders
Food was delicious. The service could have been better.
Nice place. Sat outside, which was very nice, and service was good, but food was uninspired and commercial.
First of all let me say it is hard to get all the food out at the same time for 10 people. However, the last two plates took longer than normal and we all had hot entrees and it was not good. Some of the food was too salty and the omelets had no sign of cheese in them. We frequent the restaurant and find lately that it is very inconsistent, sometimes presentation is good, sometimes too salty......
Escargot was too rich. Cast iron pots were great. Calamari was rubbery. Sauce for calamari was dreadful. Wine is grossly overpriced. French Onion Soup is good, The bread is good. But you have to beg to get any. Le Zoo is not as good as it was in the past.
The Food take too long to arrive. The waitress got confused with the orders.
HORRIBLE service in all senses of the word. I was seated inside and the waiter never came to my table. I had to wave about 5 times for someone to attend my table. I placed the order with an appetizer and entree. The entree arrived and the appetizer never came. The table next to mine (since the seating's are very close to each other) also ordered appetizer that did not arrive. I complained several times and nothing. I had to wave again for water, and again for desert, and again for the check. Zero and Zero in service. I complained with the manager, which seems that he did not care .... looks like this restaurant is bound for failure. It only has people because of the rebound from Carpaccio that is always full. So if dont want to wait for a table the obvious choice is across from Carpaccio. BAD and BAD choice. DO NOT GO THERE!!
I always enjoy it here!
Great food and terrific service. Feels like a Paris bistro.
The smbuence food and setvice is great! I live it!
The place was a somewhat noise and the attendants did note gave us their best.
The food was amazing and topped only by the friendly service! Great cocktails and superb wine list! We dined on the patio and it was a great experience!
We were very upset with burned pizza that we returned twice !!!! Its my favorite plate and this time was very unpleasant experience ! Well they offered free little tiny desert that it was really not that much for three people! As a frequent customer I was expected a better treat for my guests! At least a manager came with apology! I guess in a French place its good enough!;(
Good food and atmosphere. I’ll surely return but there was nothing that made it a “must have” kind of place.
We have been waiting for 40 min for our starters. After all the manager mumbled something just I,m sorry and that’s was all he done.
Onion soup was with lot of bread on the top, not so tasty.
As a result we refused from our salads and went to continue dinner at a nearby restaurant Carpacco, where we were served perfectly and fast.
But our mood was rather spoiled by such unprofessional approach.
No reason to return
Delicious food and great service.
Ambiance feels like you’re in Paris!
Food was cold. Food was awful tasting - steak tasted like liver. The fish had no flavor and the vegetables with the fish were flavorless and oily.
The waiter was fine and accommodating. They brought us a new dish (hamburger) and it was better. The lives were expensive and the drinks super expensive. He value was not there.
We wait 1 hour until they bring us the food. We’ve ordered just cold dishes ( salads , shrimp cocktail ) I think it was the waitress fault. Because all the other tables at the restaurant were eating.
Our Server seemed in another world. Had to ask for our cocktails two snd three times, she never checked on our entrees. Had to ask for manager.
Have been here before and it was excellent, but this time my steak was overdone, and our dessert took so long (waited over 20 minutes), that we had to cancel it.
We eat at Le Zoo at least once a week. The service is wonderful. Ask for Rosanna, she is a gem and always remembers what we like and how we like it. We never feel rushed even at the busiest times of the year. Unfortunately the tables are not the most comfortable and a little too small. If you are more than 5 or six people you have to sit at a long narrow table. A round table that comfortably sits six or eight would be a plus since there are so many large parties typically dining at the Bal Harbour Shops eateries. They also have small round tables for two that barely hold the food and drinks. Square tables, Mr. Starr would be nice which can easily be pushed together for a table of four and holds far more dishes!
Over all, the food is wonderful. Thankfully we are not thrilled with the bread. It is a little too hard and not worth the calories. The warm shrimp salad is sublime, although I noticed in the past few months the shrimp has gotten a little smaller, it is always perfectly cooked and the green salad that is served with it is delicious. Le Zoo revamped it’s menu about a year and a half ago. A few dishes we really miss are the old tuna carpaccio, the half chicken au jus, the mushroom tart, which was simply amazing as well as the almond pesto tomato and mozzarella salad and the daily special dishes which were served every week. Try the trout, smothered in delicious toasted almonds served over string beans. I had a veal chop special last night that was as tender and perfectly cooked as could be. The profiteroles are fantastic but not traditional, a must have dessert. Love the Crepe Suzette, but would love a soufflé for dessert.
Excellent food, great environment, good wait staff. Worth going to this restaurant
Vanilla ice cream inside merengue with truffle sauce
I only have 1 word. Spectacular
Invited my friends out for a dinner Holiday! The service was awful and they ran out of a wine we wanted to select from the wine menu. The food was expensive compared to the quality of food served.
Consistently delicious & excellent food.
Crowded but prompt to reservations. Great higher end clientele good for people watching and authentic French food.
Tío Noisy and the Food was not as good as usual.
No details and taste forgotten.
Must work on busiest day quality
Good food, good service, prices are very reasonable.
I highly recommend Le Zoo.
The food was good but they were very busy and the service wasn't great.
