Unfortunately this was the final night under the current owner. He has retired after he lost his wife and sold to a french restaurant in Glen Park.
The food was excellent! The only waiter on duty was much too busy without any busboy showing up. He did his best considering, but directed a quip to me that I did not appreciate that "I could complain on YELP".

Duck was absolutely terrible. Tasted thawed and reheated. Hope it was an off night for kitchen. Mussels were okay.
French thru and thru. Nice bistro, friendly staff, and food just like you would find in a Paris equivalent. Great wine choices, too.
Always reliably good. Le Zinc is our favorite for luncheon and dinner get togethers. We were there for dinner last Friday and for lunch again yesterday. A pleasure to dine there.
The charming decor at Le Zinc gives the restaurant the feel of a genuine French bistro. Unfortunately, the food doesn't measure up to the same standard. I ordered an appetizer of escargots, which were easily the worst I have ever tasted. I couldn't quite identify what accompanied them, but whatever it was, it was slightly burnt. The main course (a beef bourgignon) was much better, with a hearty rich flavor. However, it was downhill again with the dessert. The creme brule just didn't have the luscious, creamy texture of a first rate custard. The service was attentive and friendly, but at 7:00 pm on a holiday weekend, the waiter only had two tables of dinner guests to occupy his time.
This is a passable place for traditional bistro food.
The food was okay BUT the service was terrible and the most surprising thing of all this is.... we were served by the owner of the the restaurant, yes the owner!!! We were 4 friends at this table and we were all under the impression that we were bothering him.... He was sad, angry and unpleasant to us during the whole diner!!! Guys, there plenty of nice french restaurants in the city, This restaurant does'n;t worth the trip.
The place felt sad and empty, feels like its going out of business. Had to send overcooked steak back - not good for a French restaurant.
