About Le Yaca
Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner.Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg.Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge" and to top it all off “Alain Ducasse.”

Le Yaca Ratings and Reviews
Best place we have found in Williamsburg and it's not even close. Great food, attentive service, beautiful decor. It was a bit more formal than we expected, but not stuffy. Lots of options to fit different budgets; from the casual bistro menu to a fixed price (good deal) to the chefs tasting menu at top $$$.
The food was excellent and seating accommodations were comfortable. We did not feel crowded. The food was delicious but somewhat uninspired. Service was a bit spotty but they were packed for Valentines Day, so it was understandable. We asked to be moved -- and they promptly accommodated -- because we were right under a heat vent that felt like we were in a sauna.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day lunch there. The food and service were impeccable. The server was extremely helpful in selecting our dishes from the ample menu. This is a wonderful venue for a quiet cozy dinner or a brunch with friends. Highly recommended !!
Le Yaca was excellent as always. The food was very good, I had the rockfish special and my wife the salmon. Both on the 3 course price fixed menu. Louelyn our server was a bit hard to understand, however he was very attentive. My only complaint, and I find this happens at a lot of restaurants, we were the first party to be seated in this room and they seat us at the worst table, by the door leading out to the outdoor patio dining. Cold on a February evening. I politely asked if we could seat at another table and my request was granted after she checked with the front.
We like Le Yaca and tonight was no exception. My wife had a filet/scallop combination which she said was excellent. I ordered a lamb loin dinner. It was perfectly prepared and tender but had no taste. Fortunately, the peppercorn sauce which accompanied my wife's dinner saved the day
I have never been to France. I have, however, been to Le Yaca. If this restaurant doesn't exceed your expectations, then I don't know what will. From start to finish - and there are only a couple of other French restaurants I could recommend - this restaurant delivers the consummate experience. Service, wine list, food, and yes, even pricing. Le Yaca delivers.
I always love eating here the food is always fresh, delicious and exquisite. The wait staff is beyond professional and the environment and ambiance is calm and peaceful. My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary there this past Friday. We had dishes off their lunch menu and as usual we weren't disappointed! Excellent restaurant...
We visit Williamsburg no less than every two years and we always make Le Yaca a MUST stop during our vacation week .. We have invited our friends with us, for the past two years and they are thoroughly impressed with Le Yaca, so much so, that they are convinced that it might be their favorite of all restaurants that they have ever dined in .. Kudos to Le Yaca!
It is always exciting to dine at LeYaca. We have never been disappointed and the food is gourmet. Thank you Chef. The drinks are mixed well and the French wines are superb!
We always have a good time. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive to your every need.
Thank you everyone.
Ming is a superb waiter..he made us feel special. He took his time with each person and made us (4) very comfortable..esp. when my husband ordered the souffle and was concerned ti wouldn't be available..it was. We had a lovely evening made even more special by Ming.
Crabmeat crepe was superb in every way: texture, quality of ingredients, tad-underseasoned to perfection (!).. on the other hand, the soup (of the day) was bit salty for our taste. Scallops were very fresh, nicely done (not over cooked), but risotto while taste was excellent should be tad al dente (but I understand that most others may like it "over cooked" so) it's ok. Desserts were excellent. Veal was also great.. Server was extremely attentive and friendly, very professional. He mixed up the bills (from another table) but that's ok, we caught it and he happily and quickly fixed it -- it was a busy night.
This was my second "special occasion" visit and will continue to be for any future ones. From the moment we arrived, till the time we left we were consistently treated as royalty. The service was impeccable, the food outstanding (from beef to seafood), and the ambiance was terrific. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with quiet colors, beautiful chandeliers, blazing fireplaces, both at the entrance and the dining room. I highly recommend Le Yaca to anyone wanting a fantastic meal, in fantastic surroundings, with fantastic service.
Was great to be able to stop in.. Our table was ready, as always a friendly appreciative greeting at the door.. Walter took excellent attentive care and the folks here never missed a beat.. Wines, soups, entree's and deserts were all perfect.. Very Good.. Always come out of here relaxed another great visit. We look forward to our next opportunity.

Booked a reservation for my wife's birthday, at her favorite restaurant. Normally the service and food is outstanding, except for this time. The hostess wished my wife a Happy Birthday upon checking our reservation. This time we had a brand new server (Charles). Charles was nice enough but obviously had little, to no experience waiting tables. Charles would disappear for 10+ minutes after dropping off something. First the Dirty Martini with very light olive juice came out with heavy olive juice. After waiting about 10 minutes I had to ask another server to find Charles to fix my wife's drink. My wife's filet was requested medium-rare and came out medium-well. Once again Charles was missing for an extended period of time. I gave my wife my steak and just ate hers as is. Charles also didn't clear the table. We had unused wine glasses sitting on the table until half way through the meal. I finally took them and other items that weren't needed and placed them on the end of the table so he would get them. It took 2-3 times before he finally noticed. We ordered desert to go, but Charles brought out a desert for my wife. At this time he wished her a Happy Birthday (for the first time).
It's a shame that whoever handles hiring and training of the front of the house didn't take the time to properly train Charles or hire someone that is experienced. This is a very nice restaurant that will only lose business by employing people that can't perform the job. We will return again, but next time will request a server that has been there for several years.
