Three of us had lunch at LeYaca and had a wonderful experience. Two of us had their wonderful jumbo, lump crab cake and added to the 3 course lunch. The other had the salmon. All entrees were remarkable. Service is always top notch. Wonderful way to have lunch.
We are well aware to bring our guests here for an enjoyable experience.
The atmosphere was awesome and the food was Devine. I took my wife for our 18th Anniversary and could have not been more pleased. We will return to eat there more often.
Food and service are consistently world-class. Much cheaper than flying all the way to France for the same level of cuisine and service. Minh is the best server anywhere.
Excellent as always....the ambience is lovely, and the food is absolutely delicious!
Le Yaca never disappoints!
Amazing as always from start to finish! When their specialty oysters are in season - they are a must! Prepared perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant for their top flight service, ambience, quality and preparation of french cuisine, cocktails and wine list. A very special place!
Once again, our experience at this fine restaurant was flawless. We brought a friend from out-of-town who lives in both Naples, FL and Southampton, NY. While he certainly is exposed to excellent food, he said his steak at Le Yaca was probably one of the best, most tender ones he's ever had.
WE often visit LeYaca for dinner. This was the first time for lunch. It is an outstanding value.
The noise level was distracting although unavoidable as it emanated from other dining parties nearby..
The food, service and atmospheres were excellent - the standard at Le Yaca.
The good was great and the server Ming was spot on everything. Dennis recommend a great wine to go with my dinner. This is a great place to go to eat for any occasion.
We are never disappointed here. Food, service, ambience are all first rate. Wine selection and cocktails are superb. We always dine here at least once when we are in the area. Highly recommend!
Promptly seated at reservation time. Air-conditioning a little too cold.
Salad was crisp and delicious. Pea soup absolutely fresh and scrumptious! Although the meat entrees were beautifully presented, the meat was a bit tough in both the lamb tenderloin and the filet. The lentils served with the lamb needed a bit more seasoning. The shrimp and risotto that accompanied the filet were outstanding. We were pleased that on the price fixed three course meal we were allowed to order soup instead of the dessert. All in all it was a very enjoyable evening that left us stuffed and satisfied
It was a fun evening with delicious food and fabulous service.
The restaurant from a culinary, wait staff , wine list and ambiance is absolutely wonderful.
Our visit to the restaurant almost ended abruptly moments after arriving. The hostesses
who seat customers are among the rudest I have encountered in my nearly seventy years.
Despite having reservations, they treated us as if we were of no consequence. The hostesses act much like the doorkeepers at a tony New York City nightclub who pick winners and losers and treat losers like my wife and I with disdain. Only after repeated threats to leave and to black ball the restaurant on social media did they seem to momentarily recover their manners.
LaYaca needs to fix this problem. Management needs to understand that first impressions
are an important part of the customer's dining experience.
We had seven people in our party and all meals were excellent. We've been to Le Yaca numerous time and will continue to go back.
The food was, as always, cooked to perfection, presented beautifully, and served pleasantly and attentively. We had lunch from the prix fixe menu, the best bargain in fine dining in Williamsburg and comparable to the menu at Jacques Pepin's L'Ecolé restaurant (now closed) in Soho. From the cream of asparagus soup to the Coquilles St. Jacques to the fish of the day to the Marquise au Chocolat dessert--everything was superb.
The Prix Fixe lunch was excellent. I Will definitely try again. The location is not the best though.
The food, as usual, was outstanding. The service, however, was slower than normal, probably due to it being Mother's Day. Although not frequent patrons, my wife and I have been there several times. Because we're repeat customers, I would have thought we would have had a better table than being seated in the bar area which was quite noisy. Our waitress, while quite competent, asked if we wanted more of their superb bread, to which we said yes, then she forgot to bring it until after she asked again. Our excellent meals were served hot, but one of my two beef tenderloins was not cooked as I had requested (medium well) (I did not send it back), but the other one was. I would think that at a restaurant of this high caliber, the server would check to see if the entrée is cooked as requested. They have never done that, however. The maître-d enquired about out meal, but unfortunately he arrived just as our coffee did - which was almost cold; he did correct the problem immediately. It was not enough to discourage us from returning, however, which we plan to do.
Great food and great ambiance...never lets us down
I was a little disappointed. For a late lunch at 2pm, mother's day service was pretty slow for a prefixed menu. Had to wait for drink refills and tables were squeezed in so that severs couldn't navigate around people. The food was also ok. Not the best escargot, salad, lamb and creme brulee, but not the worst. My favorite thing was probably the bread. Not sure if I would go back, as an out of towner living in Richmond, but they may do better with non prefixed service.
Wonderful Mother'S Day brunch experience. I recommend the Ruby Red cocktail.
My wife and I eat out a lot, at good restaurants. We have been going to Le Yaca since the 1980's, and it's previous location outside Kingsmill, when it was the best restaurant in Willliamsburg. Now there are more good restaurants here, and while excellent, Le Yaca may not be the best.
Took my wife to Le Yaca for Mother's Day yesterday. Great food, and mostly very pleasant. But, one important disappointment, and two small things.
Our waitress was cheery and delightful. We were surprised then when we had to wait so long (½ hour) to receive our main course after the soup course. Many idle minutes with nothing to eat in front of us. When finally served, the food was warm, and not hot. As if the dishes had been sitting on a counter waiting to be served for a while. The best restaurant in town would pace the meal so there was no long wait until the main course arrived. And would certainly have tried to serve it piping hot.
Pleasant young lady opened the door and welcomed us, but then we came face to face with another young lady at the desk whose only concentration was trying to manipulate her computer terminal. As if we weren't even there. Perhaps she was having some problem with the program, but who knows? A simple word or other recognition of our arrival, and perhaps an explanation about why she could not do anything with us, would have been what a really great restaurant would do.
Very minor occurrence. The owner/boss (?) seemed to know some of the other guests, and came to greet them and make a fuss over them, as good restaurant bosses do. However, in really great places he would then have said hello (is everything OK. etc?) to all the other guests in the room, instead of relegating them to second-class status. Big deal? No. But that's what a really excellent place would do.
Great dinner at Opus 7 the previous evening. They made none of these mistakes.
We'll be back. Please accept these as constructive suggestions for a place we have enjoyed for years.
We have been customers for 5 years and have never been disappointed. The food, the service, the ambiance always exceeds our expectations. We travel extensively and this restaurant is at the top of our favorites list!
The quality of the food was great as usual. Service was wonderful. Overall Le Yaca is an exception venue for a special event dinners.
Went to this place with my parents from overseas. They were very pleased with the service. The food was great and the price was decent. It is my third time here and I will definitely return if i ever come back to Williamsburg.
Le Yaca is an amazing find for locals and visitors to Williamsburg. Great food, great service, and great value. No more need be said.
Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. Food was fresh and delicious. Ming, our server, was very helpful and had great recommendations. If you are looking for a true food experience try Le Yaca.
Exceptional! Thank you for making our anniversary special!
Tasting menu started strong then ended uninspired. Meal ended with cheese plate and ritz crackers.....
This is our favorite restaurant out of all the Richmond & neighboring areas!!! Love it!
We have been going to Le Yaca since 2000. We have never been disappointed. I have brought friends, relatives and business colleagues there and all have thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. David was our server this time. He was most attentive, but not intrusive. We live in the DC area but always go to Le Yaca when we are in Williamsburg.
This was an enjoyable evening! We’re on the road and eating out almost every night! Yaca was a stand out! Numerous menu choices, great wine and attentive service! I enjoyed the poached salmon! Cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the veal scallopini! It was delicious! The owner came out and spoke to each table making sure all was satisfactory! Loved it!
All was very good, recommend to everyone
Food was excellent, service awesome. Would eat there again.
Our Server was very informed about the menu. They gave us time to leisurely enjoy our dinner. Our food came out timely and hot as we finished each course. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. They made our evening special.
My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend and had no particular place in mind. Then we thought of Williamsburg because in addition to the town itself , it would give us the chance to dine at Le Yaca where we had dined for the first time seven months earlier. With Le Yaka in mind, we drove the two hours from our home in Charlottesville to Williamsburg.
As we hoped , Le Yaka did not disappoint. My wife ordered rockfish and I ordered steak. Both were excellent. We asked our waiter Ming to stagger the courses so we could linger. He was great. After waiting the time we asked for he'd come by and say "Your order will be here in three minutes". The soup, the entre, and the desert was excellent.
The extra ingredient of this restaurant is the people. The owner , Cyril, stopped by not once but twice to ask how the meal was. We actually had conversations both times not just "how is it ? Ming, our Chinese- Vietnamese waiter, from Saigon nears the top of best waiters ever, only beat out by Rose, the Filipina waitress we had the first time we dined at Le Yaka. As we were leaving, we saw Rose who was working that day in the bar area. When she saw my wife, she came over and hugged her and thanked her for coming back. That was a first, a lovely first.
It is our favorite restaurant. One hour from home. Not only is the food excellent, but Minh, our server is always personable and professional. The entire wait staff is wonderful from the minute we walk in the door until the time we leave. We highly recommend it. It never disappoints.
Ashton and Bunny Lewis
The food was fabulous and the staff took exceptional care and very attentive to us. Loved having to spend time with the owner! Highly recommend if in the area!
My wife and I had a great outing for Saturday lunch. The restaurant was wonderful, David, our waiter was great and very helpful. He made the experience even better.
